It's because of this that villains like Mr Freeze and Poison Ivy started to be more prominent in the comics. Hell beforehand the former was really nothing more than a joke villain and wasn't really taken that seriously. Garioshi posted... I always preferred the 2004 animated series tbh I do give the 2004 series credit for having Hugo Strange as a recurring villain. Whereas he only made just one appearance in TAS. Unless you read comics at the time, you probably ended up thinking that Strange was a villain that the writer's made up for the show and dropped afterwards. Shadowplay posted... Must suck being born in 1997, huh? You know you really don't have to be born a certain era to prefer one show over the other right? I grew up with the original TMNT cartoon.
