Yeah, that's what I meant by interpretive crap and not having a full confirmation.

I just find it funny how non-romantic animes (like Dragon Ball and Full Metal Alchemist) actually have a more complete romance plotline for the protagonist... especially when compared to animes like Fairy Tail that repeatedly wastes time on teasing the pairing for the two main characters, but never actually confirms it.

I hate romance and prefer it not show up at all, but it's hilarious that Fairy Tail, an anime that focused way too much on it, couldn't even get that part right, among the countless other things it failed at.


But with that said, I am sad that it's ending. It had so much potential, but it never reached anywhere close to it imo. The only arc I liked was the Grand Magic Games or whatever it's called. The arcs before and after it didn't really impress me, but man I really enjoyed the show during that arc.

What's up with the incomplete romance in animes that focus too much on it?

The main two characters in fairy tail were constantly being teased as a couple waaay too many times during the series (to the point where it gets annoying), but they don't even get a full confirmation of their pairing in the ending (other than interpretive crap).


Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood's ending was a million times more satisfying in the romance department. Same with Dragon Ball! And these two shows were mostly focused on action/adventure and didn't give two shits about romance.

Major has the main character marrying the childhood friend... A fucking baseball anime has a more satisfying romance ending than Fairy Tail lmao wtf.
