I wonder why there aren't more Manga like Genshiken... Its the same with gaming, why aren't there movies or tv shows or something about gamers. The only movies I can think of is "The Wizard" & "Pixels" why don't people make more Comics/Movies/Manga revolving around the lives of Gamers/Otakus/Geeks?

Just sharing a cool channel I found, Zeus. Seriously, how can you look at my account & accuse me of making the whole thing just to promote a YT channel? Didn't you see how many other topics I've made? Or all the other posts I've made?

Besides the fact that I already have a veteran GameFAQ account, I also have a Twitter account that is completely separate from the YouTuber that made that YT channel. His Twitter account is " TylerAtTheAxis ".

I've bought literally hundreds of games without ever having played them prior to the purchase. I've even bought games just on a wim because the box interested me or something. I think I've only played 20 demos in my life & I've never rented a game before. I would much rather buy a game & grow my collection then just rent it for the weekend. But that's coming from a collector so... take it with a grain of salt.

I think Keyblader misunderstood me in the previous topic. I said that I've read 18 issues of Genshiken & I think he thought I meant 18 volumes. No, IIRC, there are just over 100 issues, I've read the first 18.

I'm on issue 18 of Genshiken, keyblader. I'll probably read 3 more issues today, I do most of my Manga & Comic reading on Saturday.

I really like Genshiken, but I feel like sometimes it just seems like all they care about is hentai... I would prefer it much more if they focused more on Shonen anime/manga, RPG's & video games other then hentai visual novels, but they only briefly hint at those things in the manga. I mean, hentai is ok I guess, but these guys sometimes seem like its all they care about. There's much more to being an otaku then just perving over erotic visual novels...

Damn... You guys really commit. I only started reading manga about 4 - 5 years ago so I'm still kinda new to it. I read around 10 issues a week & the farthest I've gotten in a series is probably issue 200 of Dragon ball, issue 90 of bleach & issue 60 of One piece.

I usually get distracted by other Mangas & end up dropping a series in favor of another, I'm just not consistent enough...

I also read some Marvel & DC comics so there's that too.

Currently reading Genshiken mostly (at issue 18) & a little bit of the Spiderman/Deadpool crossover series. I also read issue 1 & 2 of "Welcome to the NHK" the other day, it was pretty deep, have you guys read it?

Sometimes I get intimidated by the crazy sizes of some Mangas, like One piece having over 800 issues. But then I remember Batman has been in well over 10'000 comics... LOL, how am I to read all this!

I'm really enjoying Suikoden (PS1) its simply brilliant. Finding & recruiting the stars of destiny & seeing your castle grow is so amazing.

In other news, I just discovered a new series of JRPGs, the "SaGa" series. On the original Gameboy there where 3, Final fantasy legends 1, 2 & 3. On SNES, Romancing SaGa 1, 2 & 3. Finally, on PS1, SaGa frontier 1 & 2.

According to Wikipedia they are made by Square soft & feature open world, non linear gameplay with multiple different characters (each with there own stories) to play as. This series sounds really amazing, anyone have experience with it? I'm really surprised I only found out about it now.

After I finnish Suikoden I'll play Suikoden 2, but after that I think I definitely wanna look into this SaGa series. There's alot of games on my plate...

God Damn it... I feel so out of the loop, I've never heard of any of the manga T0ffee listed in post #412... Are they like, really new or something? I always end up reading stuff that's years old. Kaguya-sama definitely sounds interesting though, I'll check it out.

^ Reminds me of Tales of phantasia. There were atleast 2 or 3 times I thought I was within 10 minutes of the end credits, only to find there was still TONS of gameplay left. That game was really huge. I never actually did beat it, but I played for I think around 60 hours...

IIRC, both Breath of fire 1 & 2 are on GBA. I didn't care for 1 that much though. 2 is a must play though.

I remember playing Breath of fire 2 on GBA. Absolutely BRILLIANT RPG, I loved it. Is BOF 4 on PS1 better? I loved the flying fortress in BOF2, it was like a FF airship but better. I remember you could upgrade it & find new people to give it new functions as you progressed in the game.

I'm really enjoying Suikoden (PS1) so far! The first hour was so-so, but after 2 hours, the story really starts getting interesting. I'm really gonna enjoy this one.

Its pretty Damn amazing how Suikoden has 108 characters, at a time when most games of that sort had around 6.

Yeah, I definitely like getting the most out of my games, but I don't really like the idea of using guides/walkthoughs. I prefer just finding my own way though a game. Sometimes I use guides though, but only if I'm completely stumped by something & even then, I don't really like the idea. It just makes me feel like I cheated or something...

But I don't mind other people using guides, its just that its not really my style.

I think Suikoden Teirkries on DS also had over 100 characters & I only had found around 50 or so when I beat it. That kinda stuff doesn't bother me to much, I don't really care about 100% completion. As long as I'm happy, I'm happy, LOL.

Just got Suikoden for PS1. Looks ok, my only question is, why the hell does the dragon sound exactly like an elephant!?

Have any of you guys played this? I played Suikoden Teirkries on DS a few years ago & loved that, hope this lives up to my expectations.

Have any of you guys heard of "RomanMack"? He just spent the last 14 hours (literally) bashing on Fairy tail fans, ending with him stating that all FT fans are "Worthless hunks of meat" that "Don't deserve to live" & he even encouraged them to kill themselves...

Its fools like this that give otakus a bad name. I suggest avoiding this guy, he's seriously bad news...

After reading that I'm definitely under the impression that you are *NOT* allowed to use the F-word. Or atleast that it's strongly discouraged.

I've never had problems with the mods. I think 3 or so of my posts have been modded but it was definitely for legit reasons & I won't do em again, like using the words "Ret@rd" or "G@y" its just because I was new here, still getting the hang of things.

I have noticed MANY posts that clearly brake the rules though but don't get taken down, so... yeah, maybe we need more mods? It seems to me like there are not enough for the job.

That's awesome -0melette-! I only read up to I think issue 60 or so of the One Piece manga. I ended up getting distracted by other manga like Bleach & Dragon ball. I should get back to it. I'm really enjoying Genshiken right now.

If I found out my dad could have being a millionaire just for skipping out on my birth & found out he decided to actually stay & watch, I'd be furious with the idiot!

It makes minus 100% sense to not choose the money. What's more important to a person, having his/her dad see your birth, or having enough money to buy the baby anything it needs? You'd have to be an idiot if you chose not to have the money.
