Even through it's a lackluster banner, you can try to get Rapha's BSB. It's excellent for Magicite since it's a faithaga, non elemental, command one heals an ally and has a resistance boost.

Also try to hone Meltdown if you can, 6 star abilities build more meter which helps a lot for mages.

Omega Drive, Meltdown and Valigarmanda for sure (Valigarmanda mostly if you have Alphinaud's BSB since he can refresh it)

Affliction Break for status heavy bosses, Curada is nice but not essential, everything else is niche or dated.

I think Fujin, Lion and Vaan's BSB are worth bringing to magicites if you actually plan on breaking them (but they also make decent DPS, Fujin morso for ninja magic) breakdowns and dances probably aren't worth it over other abilities through.

Beat Fenrir 9 times and I still don't have Enkidu, augh. And I can't get Kreeper to work on my phone either.

At least a 5 star dupe is better than 3/4 star trash, it's synergy or at the very least a rosetta stone.

Ultimates mastered, really easy bunch this week.

Dr. Lugae and Barnabus, died super quick to chain thundagas and Raines' BSB, Marach didn't even get to activate his BSB because of how quickly he died, only troubling thing was making sure to use full break on the first and second forms for full medal, I guess maybe the status effects on the third form but Raines got a double cast 8x7000 on him so he was dead before he could do anything.

I did my first FF4 Cid Mission on the dolls since they have an exploit where you win if you can kill all 6 before they merge. I had Edward and Kain have MM/DMT, Edward entrusted his bar to Kain so he could do his burst entry twice (and with infusion it did 9999x4 on all the dolls with the second entry) Rydia used Vali and Syldra, Fusoya used Meteor (he's the only FF4 mage I have with a relic, and it's his unique) and I managed to kill them before they combined.

Rubicante got power creeped hard by Bartz. USB + Cloud USB RW + dualcast Snowspell strike = instant win. Rubicante has an ultimate dispel on his Ultimate Inferno but Bartz killed him so quickly I didn't see it.

Finally beat a Magicite boss today, Fenrir. I went physical at first with Cloud, Ramza, Vaan, Prishe and Relm, having Ramza spam lifesiphons to get Shout and Chant up ASAP so Cloud could use his USB and Hailstorms (even though they only do 20000 damage...) But this fucking boss is so much of a goddamn tank that Prishe went from secondary healer to having to use her BSB to help try to kill Fenrir before wall wears off. Got the Raptor magicite unfortunately.

I tried again with a mage team of Raines, Rinoa, Serah, Mog and Relm, there's less RNG death at the beginning since the team in the back row and bite isn't as stupid strong, but this fight still takes fucking forever even with two faithgas. Got another Fenrir magicite as a dupe too unfortunately.

Ramza's USB stat buffs stacks with almost everything and the instant cast is sweet. It's difficult to juggle if you use him for chant/shout but it rocks in Full Throttle. He also gets a soul break battery command on his BSB2 in the future.

Worst USB is probably Y'shtola or Wakka's.

I did the 3-man Cid Missions on d300 Ruby Dragon and Gi Nattak, I beat Ruby Dragon with a mage team of Rinoa, Raines and Fujin, Raines' OSB actually came in handy when finishing Ruby Dragon off since I used Memento Mori in this fight.

Hate to admit it but I struggled with Gi Nattak, granted most of it was due to Aerith's Seal Evil always missing one of the flames but I was surprised Zack's burst was so weak, even with wind chain and Cloud USB RW he didn't hit over 9999 per hit. I know it's quick cast but sheesh, I was better off using Omega Drive. Gonna get revenge on this guy with Vaan and Bartz when I farm Major Black Orbs from him.

Ultimates mastered, these were a tricky bunch, but having Bartz USB helped a lot.

Minotaur and Omniscient were annoying, but since they're only a normal ultimate they die quickly. Minotaur's not too bad as you can use him as a lifesiphon sponge but Omniscient has an annoying gimmick of doing a 9999 curaga counter when hit by a physical attack, and I went in with a fully physical team. Thankfully Bartz's USB is so borked and Vaan's thief revenges they did more damage than what Omniscient could recover. I could see how this could have been much worse if it was a higher difficulty.

Dragon Pod was certainly a interesting fight, he's invincible until you kill the flowers, thankfully they don't have much HP or do much damage. I Cid Mission'd this one by having Krile use Titan and Ultima Weapon summons to kill the flowers and Bartz's quake strike (even at only r1 it can take them all out if I get a double cast or strong barrage) Brought Gogo for Chain Stongas on the Pod and as a secondary healer. I also read that Cid Raines BSB destroys this boss in case someone wants to go that route.

Necrophobe is pretty much the same, just with really high stats. I started Bartz with Mako Might and used his USB and then Tornado Strikes on the barriers to make short work of them. Once the barriers were dead I had Vaan use his BSB to cripple necrophobe then USB for DPS, and Bartz switched to using his water burst for the rest of the fight and made short work of him.

I've been getting a lot of work done this week as well, I cleared the last 3 nightmare dungeons (Necrophobe, Guardian and Valigarmanda) mostly through brute force powercreeping. I still don't even know how Valigarmanda's barrier thing works but I still mastered that fight by having Alphinaud use his BSB and Rinoa RW it and using her chain when she got meter. Still haven't beaten a magicite dungeon yet through.

Used all my mythril for 3 pulls.

First 3/11, two Galuf supers and Dorgann's burst, not bad but not what I was aiming for

Second 1/11, Bartz's water burst. Not bad but not satisfied.

Third 2/11, Faris's Bracer and Ultra, that's pretty cool but I didn't get Bartz's USB or Legend Materia.

Did a gems 11 pull and finally got the USB!

Unless you plan on Cid Missioning the FF11 Torment dungeon I'd hold off from pulling. Japan hasn't gotten a new FF11 event yet so it's going to be a long time before we need FF11 synergy again (And even then it could be a collab that global doesn't get for some reason)

There was supposed to be a Super Fest soon but it seems like it may be canceled/merged in favor of bringing the 30th Anniversary earlier (seems like it's scheduled around the Umaro/Gogo event in late September/early October)

Next week's FFV banner is being hyped up pretty big through, Bartz's USB makes him a spellblade combo monster.

Ultimates Mastered-Easy peasy, these guys are utterly pathetic, though FF11 is a rare realm so I guess it's to be expected that these are easy but these were almost as simple and easy as the Dirge of Cerberus ultimates. Went mage Raines + swapped secondary mage for the fight.

Went with Serah on Minotaurus, he did pathetic damage, and on the second half he mostly just used roar to lower my defenses but he was already too close to death to do anything with that, except Stonga which is a magic attack and didn't even do much damage.

Swapped Serah for Jihl for her imperials, Sabre Tooth Tiger did lol damage for an Ultimate++, Ultimate Razor Fang only did 700 damage. Apparently this guy can be cheap if he gets his paralyzing attacks off but Raines was doing 9000x4 against this wimp so he died before I saw any paralyzing attacks.

Lich was also very easy, switched Jihl for Fujin since this boss is primarily magic based, and made sure to put everyone in the front row since he has a slowga attack that hits back row characters but misses front row, you have to deal with a sleepga attack in the front but it's more inaccurate and he didn't use it very much. Lich's damage was very low but in the last third he has imperial ice attacks which can stack, but he's also weak to holy so he's not gonna live long enough to do much at that point since almost everyone has strong Holy options these days.

Sabertooth and Lich have really wimpy looking sprites as well, they look more like common Castlevania enemies than Final Fantasy bosses

Did the 3 FF12 party member Cid Mission on D300 Mateus, I've been farming for major Orbs so much I know his pattern by heart now. However I had to replace Relm for Penelo and the only Medica I have for her is War Song which is not only weak (2500 HP) it also has a medium attack boost overwriting Ramza's shout which sucks really hard.

I'm farming Mateus for Summon Orbs, mostly because of how fun it is to see Vaan go god mode on him and do 17000x5 TR with Cloud USB+chant.

Even if I only get 5 greater lightning Orbs it's not that bad either, better than farming for Crystals on Ultimates that's for sure.

ReBirth Kuja mastered, this fight is a mostly pure magic version of the Sephiroth fight, and he gets really happy with AoE spells at the last third.

I used Vaan (even with his BSB Kuja's spells still hit like a truck.) Tifa for Damage Reflect, Prishe for Last Stand, and Relm for her instant USB. I made sure to stock up bars on Prishe and Relm at the last third to keep my characters alive during the onslaught (and reflect it back at him)

Beat the Ultimates, pretty cool we get them at the start of the event this time. These guys don't do a lot of damage but that's probably because this is the first real FF15 event.

Bloodhorn is easy, he's weak to fire so Raines/Papalymo made short work of him. Even his ultimate rage only did like 1000 damage.

MA-X Cuirass was pretty easy as well, I ignored the soldiers and used Cloud USB and Hailstorms to make short work of the robot. Did the Cid Mission by bringing Noctis, seems like his burst by itself doesn't do good damage, but oh well. I still full medaled it even if Noctis held back my DPS

Titan is a tank, he resists all elements and has high resistance so I used a team of Vaan+Ramza and stalled for meter on the early phases so Ramza could do shout and chant, Vaan could use Cloud USB RW and then his USB for 50000x thief revenges. Ultimate Roar hurts like Hell through at 3300~ damage so I saved a Relm USB to recover from those.

Beat Garuda, he was really easy this time, while my FF3 synergy has improved due to Lucky Draws his attacks were surprisingly weak. Vaan BSB seemed like overkilled so I had him use USB + Thief Revenges midway through the fight. Too bad you had to hit with a jump attack to get full medals which I why I brought Lunneth for his OSB (wanted to go mage with Fujin and Alphinaud) but he still did 99999 damage even without wind attacks to boost it.

Also the FF13 lucky draw is probably the first lucky draw I'm skipping, my FF13 synergy is pretty much set outside of Lighting relics, and I never have any luck with those.

Dullahan was cake, Papalymo was dishing 7000x 6 with his burst command, and thanks to the all the Relm/Mog stuff I got from the last FF6 event my mage team had high mind so aoe stop wasn't even that big of a deal, except Tyro. Poor guy was stuck in stop for the rest of the fight after the first northern cross, but Papalymo made such short work of Dullahan I didn't need to refresh wall.

We're gonna need a new topic soon, but I can't really think of a title since Dena is shuffling the events again, unless you want to make the title about how Dena is goofing up.

This boss still sucks major ass with all of his gravity attacks, and you have to shave 470k HP before he uses Ultimate Gravity Beam 6 times, I'm so lucky I got Marach's BSB from the last Lucky Draw. Stalled for meter on the first phase, and once the second barrier went down I used Relm's USB and then had Raines and Marach instant cast their BSB entries to kill him ASAP.

Sweet Revenge since I wasn't able to master this guy back in the event he was a Ultimate++ (through granted I have 1500 of those 5 star upgrade materials)

So close to Raines' second Legend Materia...

I want Cloud's BSB2 really bad but the current banners that have it wouldn't be wise pulls. I have most of the best prizes on Vincent 2 from previous banners (and there's some major duds on that banner as well) and the newcomer banner sure as hell ain't worth 50 mythril.

It's the last thing I need for the uber Zack/Cloud USB combo, it's not coming back on the Rude/Elena banners either so I guess all I can do now is hope it shows up in a fest.

Seifer stomped, so much easier than Rufus, other than the aoe Fira doing big damage before wall he had nothing noteworthy. My Raines/Fujin mage team made short work of him.

Beat the d200 torment dungeon earlier today as well, pretty easy thanks to the holy weakness and Fujin's burst entry's magic breakdown, been a while since Raines got to go on town since there's surprisingly been very few bosses weak to holy/dark recently. I'll probably do the d250 tomorrow since I want to farm summoning orbs with the rest of today's stamina.

Also seems like there's no weekly event this week because of the newcomers dungeons. Bummer. Seems like dataminers also found that the Rubicante event is delayed to September for some reason.

Well I guess you learn something new everyday I suppose, guess I had a hard time believing that armor didn't do anything when a level 67 Cait Sith survived that attack, but I guess he's still pretty hefty on HP even at a lower level.

I beat Rufus, I almost one shot him pretty easy with the Cloud/Ramza chant combo but I got a bit too loose with SG and his Mako Cannon did 4500+ damage to my party so I had to reset. Then he and Dark Nation started being an RNG bitch and I remembered I forgot Banishing Strike on Ramza to get rid of his hastes, I had to keep resetting until he stopped killing one character and have stoneskin or Prishe's super up to give some breathing space. I finally beat after the RNG wasn't too bad but his Mako Cannon still hurts like hell even after the break and wall/protect are up so I had to keep a medica soul break on Prishe/Relm ready for it.

I'll probably do the torment dungeons tomorrow since I still wanna farm some black orbs from the dailies.

Your base defense stats actually matter against those moves, it's wall/protectga and buffs from stuff like Ramza's BSB1 and Raines' BSB that those moves ignore. They should be called piercing attacks since that's a more accurate term.

Oh I also forgot I have Aerith's ribbon as FFVII armor, should have remembered that since Cait Sith was taking blows better than Relm.

Looks like we're getting the missing bosses from Summer Festival tomorrow, need the 5* motes so I can finally get that dualcast LM for Raines!

Ultimates mastered, probably the easiest ultimates since Apoc+ was added, you don't even need shellga for these guys since they're all physical. Cait Sith is level 67 and he didn't even hold me back, which shows how easy these chumps are.

Crimson Hound only has 200k HP and you only need to kill him to win this fight. Mako Might on Cloud + USB + Hailstorms=done.

Azul was easy as well, I Cid Mission'd this with Cloud, Tifa, Cait Sith, Rufus (as a second white mage for help with the aoe attacks) and Aerith. I used Lion's Burst as a RW and that really crippled his offense. Once Tifa used her USB and Aerith had her burst up with medicas he couldn't do enough damage to be any threat.

Shelke was the same except I swapped Rufus and Aerith for Tyro and Relm. I had Cloud use his USB and Lion's Burst, so he could do attack/def breakdowns and DPS. Tifa kept using Lifesiphon and her USB to have constant hastagas to counter Shelke's dispells. Her Ultimate Low Thrust hurts bad even after all the breaks (then again I have no FF7 armor) but Relm's USB easily recovered from that.
