Ratings are relative. Pretty sure its ratings are close to, if not better than Breaking Bad (excluding its final season)

Only thing with The Leftovers is many people struggle with the first few episodes of S1. I can admit even I was underwhelmed which is why it took me a while to complete it. However, the second half of S1 is a tremendous improvement and S2 is just brilliant. It's a rewarding experience

He chose to roll with Michael because Michael was the last person in his life left. Namond was in school, Randy in a home, Prezbo and his parents out of his life. Michael was his last person. Of course he would roll with him, and he fell into drugs because there was nothing left after Mike went away.

For sure. It's a very layered show and does a great job of illustrating how consequences impact all of the characters

I was just calling attention to how superficial and absurd the claim was that the characters' fates were all attributed to one thing and one thing only.

Michael chooses a life of crime and pretty sure Duquan showed a prowess in math and had the support of Prez. He chooses to roll with Michael and go on a downward spiral.

There are also other characters in the show who overcome their situations....

Not only that, how did Michael not dictate his future? He makes certain choices and those are what lead him into his life of crime....
