I actually had little trouble with the PS3 ports of R&C. I didn't notice anything particularly bad about it. It's perfectly playable.

In any case:

R&C > Sly > J&D

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Spirit of Justice

Finally committed to delving into the final case, I have a tendency to play these games in segments, and I put a large part of this case off for a little while, but I got through it now, and it was a fantastic case imo. Overall a very good AA entry, there a couple of things I found disappointing (prosecutor, case 4's random inclusion, and the increasingly extreme silliness and far-fetched character puns), but in general it was a tightly written game. I think it was more polished than Dual Destinies, and it was very refreshing to read virtually no typo's this time contrary to DD which almost seemed amateurish in that regard. Very solid cases all around, and I think the final case is one of the better ones in the series.

Still have to play Turnabout Time Traveller though!

Tallon Overworld 1.

It's perfect. This track evokes the epic grandness of landing on a fairly unexplored planet and the ambient loneliness of Samus' journey. There are a lot of great tracks that fit so well with the atmosphere the game tries to create (Phendrana Drifts is gorgeous), but this one has to be my favorite.

Not sure if I posted this already, but I recently beat Final Fantasy XV (PS4).

I don't know what it was, but for a gravely imperfect game I really enjoyed it overall. I guess it's a game where it feels like it's more than the sum of its parts, despite the fact that it had relatively unspecial characters, a weirdly and sometimes illogically presented story, fairly simplistic combat, fairly simplistic/lazy sidequests, lots of tedium in getting around (load screens), certain recurring enemies when you don't want them...

Maybe it's just the world. The way the fantasy and modern technology that we have in the real world blend together. Or the relatable group of friends.

Well if you want to get it out of the way, it's very short without sidequesting. However, the game is a much better experience if you do. It has moments of tedium (lots of load times), but it will be far more satisfying kwowing the world and its characters (even if there aren't many great ones).

I just beat it today. God, its been too long with this game.

Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin (PC)

When I made my post, I was actually around Nashandra's part. I just powered through and finished it straight away now.

Good luck with the Fume Knight if you haven't beaten him. He's a real pain in the ass like Artorias 2.0

Congrats man, well done! Yeah Dark Souls 2's main game bosses are generally quite easy compared to other games in the series, but I've heard other things of the DLC ones...especially Fume Knight yeah, kind of worried that I'll get my ass kicked.

Damn, and I haven't even finished any of them. Then again, I only did start playing the Souls series around a year ago and since then I have been focused with other video games.

Kudos on beating Prepare to Die. I got that done last year and I'm still shuddering at all the crap that game throws at you.

I'm currently on the very very last part of Scholar of the First Sin. My first time. I actually thought the game was over by the time I got to the king again

Thanks Simoun! Yeah I still need to do SotFS DLC as well. Good luck with the final part! What boss are you on?

Oh believe me, when I first played Dark Souls (it was somehow both the first one I played and the last one I finished) I thought: "Nevermind, too hard, will never beat even 2% of this game." But as friends around me started playing this series as well I just had to try again.

It will always remain challenging in the sense that you need to watch out for the high damage output of enemies, but after 5 games it just kind of becomes second nature to play because the controls don't change much fortunately. :) You start noticing tricks and patterns that work on any tough enemy or boss so you can just apply them to new ones you face.

Dark Souls: Prepare to Die (PS3).

A congratulations is in order for this fine gentleman/woman

Thank you kindly good sir! I had already beaten Demon's, Dark Souls 2 and 3, and Bloodborne, now the set is complete finally. What a ride, I'm going to miss it so much. Although I still need to beat Dark Souls 2's/3's/BB's DLC, but I did finish Dark Souls 1's.

Ahh Dark Souls 3. Love its bosses, they're pretty challenging because they move so much more fluidly. I think the bosses I one-shotted were Iudex Gundyr, Vordt, Crystal Sage and Oceiros. There were certainly a few which killed me when I only needed to hit one more time either at the first or second attempt. However, I don't think I've needed more than 9 attempts for any boss either. The only one I'm not entirely sure of is the Greatwood and maaaybe the Abyss Watchers (but I doubt it), after that I started becoming better.

What I love about playing the series is that you just notice with each game how much better you become. I just beat Dark Souls 2: SotFS, and while I still died a lot, I never ever felt like "oh god how will I get past this" like I did at the beginning of my first Souls game. That game is the one where I one-shotted a large amount of bosses, but to be fair, many of its bosses are just lame fights and extremely unoriginal. Still have to do the DLC though, and things will pick up significantly there I know.
