That's snark, she says in the tweet that it was under CIA pressure. The CIA applied pressure because she leaked, not because she's trans. In another tweet she says "this is what a military/police/intel state looks like ... the cia determines what is and is not taught at harvard"

Didn't mean to label you, I'm speaking more broadly at the hate she gets from conservatives. But also I don't think all of the celebration is coming from her leaks. A lot of it is from her surviving mistreatment in prison and reentering free life with a positive message. Calling out the neoliberals in the democratic party has helped get her a following as well.

The two journalists killed were "collateral damage", the decision to label it murder is coming from a moral perspective rooted in opposition to the iraq war. I don't know what to tell you. It's hard to find common ground when some people only look to state sanctioned legality as the end all be all and throw morals to the wayside.

It's true the Republican party hypothetically has no or very few checks on their power, but as we saw with their healthcare fumble the party is fractured between hard right tea party, anti government types (killed several versions of the ACA repeal/replace because it wasn't conservative enough) and chamber of commerce types that want government to grow and mold with private sector businesses. These differences operate as a check without trump himself even being involved. That said, there is plenty horrible things that they do agree on.
