TopicWhat temperature do you have your home set to?
cute_fan

I meant at the moment

As for right now (mid-September) I don't have it set to anything at all; it's turned off.
The ambient outdoor temperature is fine, so I just let it drift with that for now, saving money all the while.
We've been fortunate to have been having quite a mild September so far; it's happily felt more like October.

Meanwhile, my kittycat is a very fluffy one ^.^
in a nice coincidence,
already prepared for winter when I have it set for usually around 10C/50F. A temperature at which I'm fine ^.^ (I know that most people would find it quite chilly),
and which saves quite a bit of money -- to help pay for next summer's air conditioning, which I use a lot....

(looks like dancer62 and I share the same perspective regarding the winters, ^.^
yet, we could hardly be more different regarding the summers....)

I know I'm an unusual person. ^.^;;;
In many ways ... but, as for the one which is relevant here:
buying things, spending money, inherently causes anxiety for me, and more than a little. It certainly doesn't relieve any of it.

Every time, I end up worrying about how this means that I will have less money remaining in case there's an emergency or something and I really need it. Even little amounts of spending, really do add up in the end.

So, in other words: no. ^.^

What is the last movie you went to see at the theater and what did you think?

Pretty sure it was the second Harry Potter movie. The one about Hermione's chamber of secrets or whatever it was.

I certainly remember that the ghost Myrtle was very cute (even though how she entered the picture was the exact opposite of cute).
Other than that, I don't remember anything at all about it.

This was over a decade ago. ^.^;

Are you Liberal or Conservative?

Neither. Definitely (and proudly) neither. ^.^

On the other hand, between "Republican or Democrat", I would identify as "independent, but leaning Republican".

On the "political compass" and quizzes which closely resemble it, I generally test as actually being on the left.

Whereas by contrast, on the "disgust" (chartsme) quiz, I test as ultra-conservative.

Pew Research has a very interesting "typology", which identifies clusters of political preferences on the American political scene.
They revise it every few years.

In the most recent one (2014)
http://www.people-press.org/2014/06/26/the-political-typology-beyond-red-vs-blue/

I strongly identify with the "Hard-Pressed Skeptics", a generally independent grouping, neither conservative nor consistently liberal.
http://assets.pewresearch.org/wp-content/uploads/sites/5/2014/06/PP-2014-06-26-typology-1-02.png
http://assets.pewresearch.org/wp-content/uploads/sites/5/2014/06/PP-2014-06-26-typology-A1-04.png

In their two releases before that (2011 and 2005)
http://www.people-press.org/2011/05/04/beyond-red-vs-blue-the-political-typology/
http://www.people-press.org/2005/05/10/beyond-red-vs-blue/

I strongly identify with the "Disaffecteds", a generally independent grouping, neither liberal nor consistently conservative.
Who very closely resemble the "Hard-Pressed Skeptics" of three/nine years later, in most ways.
http://assets.pewresearch.org/wp-content/uploads/sites/5/2011/05/2011-typology-profiles-10.png
http://www.people-press.org/2005/05/10/profiles-of-the-typology-groups/#disaffecteds

So: not liberal, not conservative. ^.~

TopicWould you work four ten hour days, if it meant you would get Fri - Sun off?
cute_fan
07/24/17 5:18:28 AM

I would much rather have Wednesdays off, instead of Fridays.

Because that way, instead of a five-day week or a very similar four-day week, it effectively turns into a pair of much shorter and more manageable, two-day weeks. ^.^
And likewise, there isn't all that much difference between a two-day weekend and a three-day weekend; whereas instead having a day to rest and recuperate in between, would feel much more beneficial.

For the exact same reason, I'm always irate at whoever came up with the contemptible idea of moving holidays specifically in order so that they fall on Mondays. >.<
I would much prefer to have them on a Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday, instead of on a Monday (or Friday).

KJ StErOiDs wrote:
I'd think 3 ~13's would make for some pretty miserable workdays, but I'd give it a try.

Very similarly to how I just said.
I feel that this looks like it might perhaps be interesting, but only if it's Monday, Wednesday, Friday.
(Or any other three well-spaced-out days too (although doing such would require incorporating a Saturday or a Sunday);
e.g. Monday, Thursday, Saturday;
Tuesday, Thursday, Sunday;
or anything else like along those lines.
That is, I don't really care which days they are, only that there's adequate time to rest and recuperate after each one.)

On the other hand, I feel 3x13 would be an utter nightmare if it were something like Tuesday-Wednesday-Thursday, or Monday-Tuesday-Wednesday, or such. >.<
