Gameking has beaten Mega Man 5

I went ahead and picked up the Legacy Collection on sale for the 3DS. At first, the small screen size got to me, but after a while I got used to it. Mega Man 5 is definitely a solid platformer, but it and 4 were always nowhere near as memorable as the others. Still, I enjoyed going back to it. I had forgotten about most of it, and it has been a while since I played a classic Mega Man.

I guess I've got three noms now... I guess for now I will nominate Snake Pass, Metroid Fusion, and Demon's Souls.

I wish the Switch had Virtual Console. I would totally download ALttP, but I guess I might pick it up on the Wii U and play through it. We'll see.

Gameking has beaten Escape Goat.

I had never heard of this game, but I'm glad I grabbed it. It was a solid puzzle platformer with a really good soundtrack. Spent about two hours on it, and by the end, some of those puzzles were really clever.

Just started Escape Goat. Two dungeons down. Seems like a pretty cool puzzle platformer.

Well, I just beat Olmec, but then I fell into the lava with him. I'll have to throw up a rope quicker next time.

I keep getting close to beating Spelunky, but no luck yet. My nom will go to Grand Theft Auto III.

I'll definitely keep working on Spelunky though. Hopefully, I can pull it off by the end of the month.

Just made it to Olmec. Sadly, I died to him. I've gone on some good runs lately though, so maybe I can get back there again soon.

I finally managed to get the key to the temple in order to finish that shortcut. Practiced at the temple for a bit, but I think I'm going to try and make it to the end now.

I played Spelunky some more tonight after not having played for several days. Just finished moving to Florida from Illinois, so it's been a busy week.

Anyway, I didn't initially do to well, but I finally managed to get to the ice caves in one run, with the key in tow. Trying to unlock the shortcut to the temple, which I've gotten to a few times. Hopefully I can manage that soon.

Just made it to the ice caves for the first time. Made it to the second level before getting blown up by a landmine. The jungle is starting to feel familiar to me, so that's good.

Man, I am not great at Spelunky. I just got the shortcut built to the jungle and have been using it to practice this zone. Haven't gotten past 2-2 yet, but that should come with more practice.

Ever since I got into the Binding of Isaac when it came out for the Switch, I've wanted to try more roguelikes, and this was one I had been eyeing. I'm enjoying it, but we'll see if I am able to beat it this month.

Gameking beat Bastion.

I actually beat this a few days ago. I really liked this game, and I am glad this got me to finally play it. The soundtrack just worked so great and mixed with the gameplay and narration so well.

I'm surprised this isn't getting more play. I'm guessing most people have already played it.

I believe I have two nominations left?

Gameking has beaten Bionic Commando Rearmed.

I had some fun with this one. Sure, it was frustrating at points, but once I got a handle on the controls, it felt great swinging around the levels.

My first two noms will be Portal 2 and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic .

I've started Bastion. Should have more thoughts on that soon.

I've been playing Bionic Commando and have made it to the second half of the map. I'm really liking it. The controls took some getting used to, and it would get frustrating sometimes, but now that I'm figuring it out, using the robotic arm to swing around feels great.

Biggest complaint so far is the enemy confrontations on the map where it turns into a top-down shooter. They're just not fun, and I've done that same desert map like five times now.

Gameking has beaten Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones.

I had a lot of fun with this. I've always enjoyed the series, yet this was my least favorite of those I've played. The plot seemed to just exist for the gameplay, which was definitely a good time, but compared to FE 7, Path of Radiance, and Awakening, it felt a bit lacking. I still had a very good time with it regardless.

I'm on chapter 11 in Fire Emblem. Chose to go through Eirika's path first, as that feels like the right order. I saved another file right before the decision so I can go back through Ephraim's route when I'm done.

Haven't played a Fire Emblem since Awakening. I always get sucked into these games.

Gameking has beaten Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

Oh man, that game was something else. Definitely a masterpiece, and may be my favorite Zelda game. Definitely my favorite open world game, especially after being so burnt out on the genre. It just did nearly everything incredibly well.I see myself continuing to explore Hyrule for a while.

As much as I love Hendrix's version, it loses something from the original. Dylan's version just seems more poetic, almost mystical.

Gonna have to give it to the original here, but it's not an easy choice.

I'm playing Zelda, and I'm absolutely loving it. I've gone through two divine beasts. Not sure how far into the game I am since I'm playing completely blind.

The sense of discovery is amazing. I've been getting tired of all the open world games, but exploring the world is the most fun I've had since Skyrim, probably more so.
