I don't think they are the end all be all by any means but they have a certain niche. Heavenly Sword, DMC, Enslaved etc aren't trash games. I always confuse them with Team Ninja because they are like a knock off of that but are quality themselves. DMC was always Ninja Gaiden's mirror. Tecmo and Capcom I think. I don't know the whole history there but very similar and were obviously targetting the same niche market of hack and slash action adventures.

DMC and Ninja Gaiden I always considered linear hack and slash action adventure in it's purist form when it was at it's height.

Half the issue is it is the same developers thogh. These developers created those genres. You rarely see developers today creating new ones or more story driven action adventures in different ways. You have open world but they are all pretty watered down. There is a lack of new talent because AAA games are all controlled by major publishers.

You don't see people creating new genres today with that kind of budget. You do but they aren't necessarily good either. QTE and walking simulators isn't what I'm looking for.

I more just want quality games. It doesn't even have to hardcore. He is talking about exactly what I've been though about how they've driven the cost of developing games up and there is a lack of risks being taken. Games with 60 hours of gameplay and nothing to do is not that fun to me. I like replayability and all of that but open world games in general are lacking something as far as being engaging. I like the older elder scrolls games but the newer stuff has become more and more streamlined and losing that part that made these series great in the first place.

I'll take a shorter game at half the price if it's good. Trying to sell to the masses and developers not even really doing that and getting lazy isn't good. As much as certain games sell based on name and branding there still are a lot of people out there not even playing games. I think the industry has been getting really stagnant too because of it's own faults.

Games were still selling but now it's starting to catch up to them too because people aren't even buyinig the big series as much anymore and the cost of making those games is through the roof. There's room now for other developers to step to the forefront.

If you understand anything about economics these major publishers are still hording a lot of the sales but people are losing interest too so there is room for a game like this to do well.

I've been wanting a game that doesn't cut corners and has a good campaign, deep combat, gameplay, graphics, doesn't water itself down etc. Story, twists and turns, special effects etc. Strong narrative puzzles etc. It looks like what HZD should have been or even Dark Souls with an actual story and campaign. I guess not for everyone or what sells but that's the problem with games today is people are either not playing games because there's nothing to get excited about or they play watered down crap.

Looks like ninja theory has retained their hardcore roots.

I'm always amazed at the stuff I see that other people don't. Even actual doctors. People are really bad at dealing with hurt people. It's not always the persons fault who is being hurt either. It's not karma or anything. People who wish that stuff on people are ignorant themselves.

Every series has been gobbled up. Same franchise every year. People are greedy d-bags. Why do people just stand by and take this stuff? Cowards? Don't say you just have a different opinion either. Games really are just terrible now.

I like urban dictionary. I just looked up covfefe which is defined there as a term trump coined to describe lack of journalistic integrity. I am again nothing like trump in a lot of ways but feel that way quite often especially how mean people can be online and ignorant. The boston press too in general is terrible how they pick apart things and their analysis of what is actually going on. They give us nice people from boston a bad name.

There is way too much stupid stuff in the media in general. The agendas that are out there are also absurd. Common sense and actual intelligence lost. Google. All of it really.

What I can't stand about yahoo is I use the site for my mail and for fantasy sports which is fine but the amount of clickbait and sensationalism in the news is terrible. gamefaqs also can have a lot of drama too. it's gotten better of late but this place used to be nothing but drama. youtube is pretty bad sometimes as well. it depends on where you go but seeing i like video games a lot of the stuff on there as far as watching playthroughs and stuff is really bad. I just let it roll off me but even the commenting sections can be terrible. I have a general aversion to people telling me how i think or should think anyways. Especially when people say stuff they never could to me in person.

I feel the same way about social media in a lot of ways. It's given people a voice that a lot of these people can sit behind computer screens and manipulate the truth. There are good people out there but it's made me realize how far and in between they are. It's also given success to people who really aren't ready for it or even deserving of it as well.

The argument is don't go there but the way things are going social media has really given people way too loud a voice that shouldn't even necessarily have one. It's a false reality that way.

humanity has gone backwards in ways. Face to face interactions are still much more telling then what some idiot says on twitter where you have no idea where it's coming from a huge percentage of the time.

I really question if these are normal people with any moral fiber at all though. Most of them haven't experienced enough in their lives to even know. What they are doing to dsp just seems to be cowardly and gang stalking. Not saying he is the poster child for success himself but people are pathetic that way.

I am someone who can back up what I say in person too. People aren't that way to me in reality for a reason too. I'm tired of getting caught up and blamed for other peoples other peoples garbage though.

Just thinking about the dspgaming debacle and was watching one of his videos tryiing to watch a playthrough. I don't know what is more pathetic there him or the people who have decided to jump on the oust dsp train. Do these people realize how pathetic they are? Weird thing is I get called a troll on the internet when what I say is actually just true. None of these people could say or do what they do in person. Even machinima and major gaming sites. Most of these people are utter losers.

People love to think they are being real when they really aren't? It's a generational thing? I tend tot hink people have always been this way in some regard though. Have no idea how delusional they are sometimes because of how insulated they are.

I just mean where everything is construed a hate crime these days because of political reasons. Where there are people in this world who have had actual harm done to them in other ways just dealing with people like this. Not even in the political realm.

I think harassment is anything where you are doing actual harm to an innocent person and failing to realize it. Unfortunately that gets totally overlooked.

mafia 3 with the dlc is worth it. It's challenging on the hardest difficulty. The gun play in general is excellent. Just repetitive as hell. I spent $75 on it is the problem. For $30 for the complete edition probably worth it. I like it better than Shadow of Mordor and games like that. The 60's vibe and story is good.

Mafia 3 even though it's pure crap at times is probably the best one and most current. Watch dogs is just bleh to me. AC Syndicate is more interesting than Watch Dogs at times.

LA Noire last gen was a letdown and doesn't really hold up too well. Probably on par with those games though.

Saints Row, Batman AK sort of, Mad Max. Even Red Dead and teh Witcher but not really clones.. The Witcher is also an "rpg"..... Sure...... It's GTA with a horse and more dialogue.

Everything else sucks. Unless I'm missing one or two. Prerequisites are it has to be somewhat current and have some sort of travel that is sort of modern and be open. I guess infamous but not really.
