The movie Fire Walk With Me is much better than the series because it had more freedom due to not being hampered by censorship. The Showtime series that just aired was a complete mindfuck. The other thing is to make sure your infrastructure includes up to date flood control systems. Houston has nothing in place to deal with massive flooding so a storm that dumps tons of water is a nightmare. New Orleans is fucked no matter what they do because it's in a sinking hole that's already well below sea level. But, we were more concerned about the bystanders just standing there. We were the bar's security, not a couple of guys looking for a fight. Even the detectives said that we were technically in the right. But, because it's our word against theirs and the bar owners won't come forward on our behalf we're left out in the cold. But, I guess it's because we were messing with their drug money. Memorial Day we were working security at a local bar and the local gang started a brawl with a rival from another parish over. We get involved to break it up and the locals turn on us to fight us. We told the owners to call the cops. We had a break in the fighting and one of my partners saw a rifle being pulled from a vehicle, so we hurry and get our pistols on our hips and return to the fray. While we were once again breaking the group , my other partner gets blindsided by a pipe and goes down bleeding and then two shots rang out behind us. We pull our weapons and go for cover, while assisting bystanders. We never had eyes on the shooter because he jumped in his vehicle and started driving off. So we started to clear the parking lot and heard more shots down the street. Once again we covered bystanders and made sure no one was coming after us. After an hour of fighting and covering, we finally had the lot cleared and THEN the sheriff's deputies came in to assist. Fast forward a month, we get called in for the detective to tell us that WE are looking at possible assault charges and charged with illegally carrying a weapon on bar premises, even if it was after hours. We asked if the shooter and guy who hit our partner were picked up. She said yes, but they started talking about how WE started the fights. So now the whole SO is telling people we thought we were bad ass vigilantes, one deputy even said we fought the cops. So yeah, the cops are looking more at us now instead of them.
