Apparently you can bring in two calculators if they're both acceptable. Not really. If you like the display of the XA better, then it might be more beneficial to you for solving some of the easier problems, but that's about it. The most advantageous thing you can do is make drawings for the problems because they're REALLY USEFUL in FM. Also you don't need 3-4 exams when you graduate to get a job. You can get an internship with 1 (although 2 is much easier and recommended), and if you can get an internship you'll be in a great position for a job. Most EL jobs only require 2 exams, with 3 being a bonus. --- |

He used Miguel Arcone's slides from Binghamton University, but it seems Arcone passed away and the university dropped his web page. Also I forgot to mention this earlier, but for the love of god please have a BA-II Plus calculator and learn to use it. I practiced on the thing non-stop and finished FM like 40 minutes early with an 8. It saves so much time and makes your life so easy if you can learn to use it. It's kind of pricey, but I find the questions are pretty close to what's on the exams, and you can see what level you're at. Most of the exams are around a 5 in ADAPT difficulty, they advise you to be level 7+, but I usually just do level 4-5 practice exams and do fine. --- |

FM is mostly just memorization of a few formulas, most notably the a-angle-n formula which you'll use in like 10 different ways to solve 80% of the problems. I had a class on it, so I only studied for like a week and I passed. EDIT: to answer your question, yeah, you definitely can. With no previous knowledge you could probably do it in a month, maybe 2. --- |
