For a society that has reached all-time-high levels of loneliness, you would think that people would use the anonymity of the internet to express themselves honestly and try and become more comfortable with vulnerability. Shouldn't people want genuine communion and empathy? It feels like it would do so much good for people. And yet! There are countless individuals prepared on a daily basis to flood the internet with meaningless fictions that give the mind a spin but leave the soul starving. --- I look forward to a computer program winning the world chess championship. Humanity needs a lesson in humility. |
