Remember when I talked about that valve?

I think what really made me angry is when I actually tried to talk to my sister about it, it took me almost a week to get hold of her.

Apparently, she was too busy looking after her kids to call her brother back. My [grand]parents hadnt even told her that they came clean about it all. Lol it was a crazy week X was sick and Y was potty training and blah blah blah.

I dont have much to do with her unless its a family get together.

I dont treat my nephews and niece/ brothers and sister any different, though. They were always awesome.

It was actually kind of fucked up all around, I was really disappointed I found out the way I did. But it was also boring.

I had to use my birth certificate as part of a 100 points of ID thing for a background check as part of getting a job when I was 19. It was the first time Id seen it, and all things considered, youd think someone would have given me a heads up. No.

I was putting my job application together and I was procrastinating with one of the selection questions, so I decided to actually read my birth certificate.

It had my sisters name as the given name, and the father field was blank. That wasnt too weird. Women in my mothers family (I guess both mothers) have basically just alternated between one given name and one middle name since forever. I thought it was a screw up. My first drivers license had my given and middle name together as one big portmanteau monstrosity.

I was 19 and still living at home, so I just went into my parents bedroom where they were chilling before bed and just kinda cracked jokes about how useless the people who recorded the stuff were.

And got this blank faced silence.

Even if its part of the valve thats a bit naughty and doesnt do what it should do.

That is actually my life.

My mother had me at an extremely young age, and my grandmother just passed me off as an unplanned, last hurrah baby. Only it was more 16 years rather than 15.

It makes Mothers Day awkward, let me tell you. Do I give my spoiled, bitchy older sister who completely disavowed me for half my life a present or what? I just blank her, my grandparents are my parents and my biological parents can go spin.

Edit: if you have brother/sister type arguments with your own kid, you lose all rights to parenting
