I did get a little nervous yesterday...been a long time since I played it, so I practiced awhile. Hand's more nervous around a bottle on the edge of disaster than it used to be.

I give away all of them, yeah. One went to my grandma for her birthday and one went to a previous landlord that I know then gives these prizes to kids she knows, but otherwise I tend to give them directly to kids and non-profits.

One prize per person per day is the usual norm, yes.

2020: 0/0, there was no fair due to how bad I wrecked them the year before and definitely not because of COVID-19.

2021: 0/0, the fair was open but again they lacked the courage to bring my game back.

2022: there are five days left I can still attend, and that first day is tomorrow. Will the bottle game return? And do I still have the skills?? And might I get a deep-fried Milky Way ice cream bar while I'm there???

I'm not stressed about the Among Us cast. I think naturally they could be a little stronger than Draven but wouldn't be as naturally strong as Sans...and neither are much to write home about strength-wise, but more to the point I just think the meme-aspect has passed and they weren't as memable in a rallying kind of way with a contest. Memable for memes! Just feels like a different energy for getting the votes.

I do see people of multiple ages -- mostly younger people -- wearing their shirts so I could be wrong, but it's not the rallying kind of energy I imagine it takes to pull real upsets here.

I've watched BCS twice and BB three times up to this point. After this finale Monday, I'll probably watch BB again but start at the Better Call Saul episode unless there is new reason to revisit earlier than that.

Preferred last's episode to this week's though this episode had more "Oh...?!" moments.

That grave transition was outstanding.

I felt like Saul's call in the booth was that of a man caught in a trap, but really it's hard to tell and other theories sound simpler to believe.

Jessie sounds older now...kinda funny.

Seems like Saul's being shaped to be the single biggest driving force of the BB/BCS universe, and they're mirroring his journey with Walt's while still making this point. It's fascinating, but ultimately it still feels up in the air about like...not just what will happen, but what story the writers are interested in telling. It's a neat place to be but brings a unique air of confusion.

Having not played any of these games, what could Smash learn to do better from them?

It used to be the only game like it for like...what felt like a decade or longer. Now though, there are a lot of new takes on the genre.

Are there game elements Smash could now do better since other similar games exist and are finding their own takes on the genre?

GE barely beat MGS1 on this weird one-off contest. This wasn't like a real bracket-contest we're used to (I'm taking MGS1 to beat GE both then and now anyway)...but the main reason I'm linking this here was because out of the site's top ten games in that format, GE was the big surprise to us. At that time, the takeaway was that this upset spoke to the enormity of how much bigger GE was off of GameFAQs than we realized on here. I imagine old man Snake closing his story was more insular within gamer culture like ours than my friends at the time who did hands-only and Golden Gun battles in Archives.

Like...between DOOM and Halo, GE was the FPS that carried that weight in-between for console gamers (credit to Half-Life on PC in the meanwhile though). GE was the first game I ever saw the cool kids at my school play. Away from the game itself, I once saw a one-man show called "No Oddjob" -- it was of course a cool show

Though rare, I still hear occasional references to GE. MGS4 was huge too but it wasn't the same.

Just thinking of the intro's VCR mechanics and metaphor...we saw it go to blue and say STOP and REC this week as if he's rewriting his story again, as he is often doing in his life. It also jarringly but excitingly prepared up for this time-skips as viewers. We've not seen REW or FF on it yet though, so we might still see time-skips after all here if they pursue further that metaphor in the intro.

PAUSE too, I suppose, but STOP effectively covers that enough for me.

Still trusting them to rock it with a good job, but it's a curious place to be. I don't need new Breaking Bad scenes -- cool if so, but it seems like it'll be weird to go back to it at this point. Just a funny place for a show to be.

Good episode. Not what I expected, but it made watching a cinnamon roll be eaten a repeated work of art.

Both are tempting, but I imagine you could get a sweet job as a global-level translator and have a greater enjoyment traveling to new places with the 10,000-option.

In basketball, you can score up to nine points at a time (as opposed to the more common 1/2/3-pointers) if you shoot the ball from specific circular spots that randomly appear on the court. These spots are well-guarded though, so usually players will wait until they're on fire.

One of the things that made the Chicago Bulls dynasty so amazing in the '90s was that they didn't use a single one of those point-enhancing spots while playing basketball in the decade where these were first introduced. Also, if you check the stats from their NBA Finals, the Utah Jazz was never able to score more than three points in a single basket. This really spoke to the defensive strength of the Bulls having both Jordan and Rodman -- two former Defensive Player of the Year award-winners. I'm surprised The Last Dance didn't touch on those stats.

Im surprised that more on this site havent finished it.

I'm not bothering with this breakdown, but now I'm curious which games we have polls on have the highest finish-rates in comparison to their play-dates. At the moment, it feels like FFX having a 74.9% play-rate and only 10.12% from that piece not finishing is pretty solid -- especially given how long the game is. This isn't Mario 1.
