Looks like Triangle Strategy is the only game to lose %? It's a pretty insignificant amount, tho. Otherwise things are mostly the same, except that the April-June replacements seem to be a bit weaker than the January-March third tier games, which is kinda sad/funny.

Not too much should be that strong in the second half of the year, as far as what's announced. I'd guess God of War Ragnarok as #1 and Xenoblade 3 as #2. Not sure whether Xenoblade 3 ends up above Kirby or Pokemon, but I think it will.

Dark Pit's a fun little flamenco (is that the term)? Team is alright battle music with bad instruments.

Confronter is a boring cacophony. CC is a lot of fun. Kinda like a fake zts song, heh.

Xeno is okay but not my thing. NightL is one of the better area songs in X, which is saying something.

You're not alone. I played it a few months ago and thought it was decent, but not life-changing or a Top 5 Metroidvania or anything like that.

There are some amazing platforming sequences (particularly the escapes) and the art style is gorgeous, but the level design and combat left me feeling underwhelmed. Also, it ended kinda abruptly.

It's worth trying the second, which is considered a major improvement in many ways, particularly the combat.

Classic Metroids and Castlevanias weren't as big as Hollow Knight!

Strange New Worlds is quite a bit better so far than Discovery or Picard IMO.

The 'cards' part is just another word for guns, really. You pick up guns, shoot them, and can throw them away for a movement ability. You can only hold two guns at a time, as with many FPSs.

The card part was a turnoff at first for me too, since I've disliked a few games that add card systems, but Neon White doesn't feel like a card system.

Those two I liked more than the other characters tho.

Healer Girl had a great start, but lost a bit of steam along the way. I love slice of life shows with some fantasy injected into them in general, so the idea of them singing to heal people was excellent, and gets a good deal of focus for a while. Unfortunately, the later parts focus a little more on mundane stuff - parts like the school festival and the maid going to America weren't very interesting to me. The cast was solid, but not really good enough to carry the show when it wasn't focused on healing. I was never quite sure if the doctor and the pharmacist who run the clinic were supposed to be a couple, since we see the doctor

Kaguya S3 - tried this out after I watched and dropped a few episodes of S1, then read the (vastly superior) manga in between. I still think the manga's much better (particularly in terms of comic timing), but this season seemed a bit better in terms of not having the narrator be overwhelming.

B2 kinda middle of the road for SMT battle themes. BR2's OST is much worse than BR1's tbqh. Not that it's terrible, and this song is solid. Close match.

The ending sequence was solid at least. The confrontation on the planet, I mean.

Tempted to leave the sequels out, but they have alright titles too. Spring was full of fun romcoms, but we're back to having tons of isekai again in summer.

Much 80s. In a good way, tho. Opponent's pretty good too. Tough match.

Not a fan of The Durandal. Is an alright song, but can't sustain itself too well. Indignant Divinity is rather more fun.

Time reminds me of a Persona song without the flair. Sanctuary kinda feels like an interesting song that could go somewhere, but it never does.

More completed spring animes:

Love After World Domination was good stuff. It's cool to have a show about a couple that's already in a relationship and have it executed well. Lots of creative storylines, though some were more typical, and a good voice cast, especially for the princesses. The show mostly remembered to keep it comedic and feel-good, which was nice.

Spy x Family is my favorite show of the season. It's hilarious, has great characters, and every episode's interesting/creative in a different way. Feels like a bizarre show to complain about 'filler' in, since the castle episode was one of the best of the season, and most people seem to agree that the content in that episode's better than the source material. It's at its best when it's focused on Anya antics, since she's amazing. Give us scenes where she's interacting with other characters and you can't really go wrong. Unfortunately, the last episode was something of a dud, which knocked my opinion of the show down a bit, but it was excellent otherwise.

Agreed. I can be nice to have at least one song of a type guaranteed to get to the second round. Though I'll add that the 'niche tastes' song doesn't always lose, and it can be hard to tell what songs will go on to be popular. Halo and RftM aren't really very strong either...

Mm, yeah, I might've misinterpreted what you were saying. It doesn't have complex decisions like an older adventure game - it's a bit more simple than that.

To the Heart is definitely worse than Stay Forever. It's alright tho. Tyrian Maze does nothing for me.

Jungle Joyride rules. Fun mix of chill and epic. I don't care for Ephemeral Glory B at all. Not a fan of the 'weirdness' or whatever, though I did play Dragon's Crown recently, and I like how it reminds me of that... Two extremely different songs in this match.

As for other games, how's 428: Shibuya Scramble if I prefer my VNs to have a decent puzzle element (like Zero Escape, Danganronpa or Ace Attorney)? It's more the first than the second, but it's some of both. Very good game!

Brotherhood has been dethroned several times. Spy x Family was #1 for a while, and Aot Final Pt.1 was too. The FMA fans always pitch a fit and bot the competition down. Worst fanbase in anime.

Neko Nabe has some parts that I like-ish but never gets to the level of being great. Also the talking parts in the second half are really bad. Another Winter isn't the best but it's pretty okay. I like the start. The part that starts at 0:37 isn't good.

Tunnel Vision is a good song. I like it very much. Mor Ardain is also great. Could go either way on this one! Too bad the best two songs are in the same match.

I do not like Blue Orb! CMYK is not my thing either! Oh well!

My main problem with Part-Timer was how slow it was. Felt like nothing happened most episodes. Wonder if this season'll speed things up a bit.

City Trial's fine, but it doesn't stand out like some of the better Kirby songs. Abstract Map I don't like much at all though.

Battle Arceus may be the most unpleasant song in the contest. Twilight of the Gods is pretty good for this style of FE song.

Nature isn't my thing either. In Hell isn't a top tier Mili song, though it's still nice.

I used save states to 'beat' Zelda II. If someone says I didn't beat it that's fine, because yeah if you really get down to brass tacks I didn't. Now as far as my personal collection goes yeah I'm gonna mark it as finished and call it a day.

So what do you view as elitist?

Pokemon Yellow should count as a Game Boy Color game I'd think.
