I know you're only joking but I doubt her work gave a fuck to be honest and it wasn't a small company (Crayola). I didn't really know anyone she worked with and I had no desire to report it even if I did. Given it was super obvious to me what was going on and I'm sure she was trying to hide it from me, it had to have been super obvious to people she worked with especially since the last I knew they were engaged (this was several years ago). There definitely wasn't any repercussions that I was aware of and he was still working for her at the point we divorced.

Everything worked out for the best in the end though so I can't complain. I met my wife shortly afterwards and we've been together 6 years now. My first marriage was toxic and unhealthy, if she hadn't had an affair it would have likely ended for another reason down the line. My marriage now I can count on one hand the number of arguments we've had in 6 years (I'm not even exaggerating). There was a very small window of opportunity for me to meet my wife and a lot of quirky circumstance that led up to it. If everything hadn't gone down how it did, I'd have probably never met her.

Now that I've chance to think about it and this is pure speculation, I'm betting the person he slept with is probably married to someone else within the organization. That would warrant heavy punishment as it makes the third person's position potentially untenable. Or that third person could be fairly high up and demanding a heavy punishment

There's already been reports that he was separated from his wife prior to the affair but it just wasn't public knowledge. Not sure how credible they are though.

If they suspend him for the year like they are reporting then there's absolutely more to it than we don't know.

Like as far as I'm concerned Ime's punishment should purely be from a:

What is the company's policy and HR agreements in place with workplace dating?

Thing is, you never know what is going on behind closed doors in people's relationships. People also change over time, I certainly wasn't the same person by the time I divorced as I was when I started dating my first wife. And that's regardless of her affair.

My parents had a shitty abusive relationship (in both directions), it would have been far more beneficial to both of them (and myself) if they had divorced sooner than they did even if it would have needed an affair to cause it. Both of them then went on to happier, healthier marriages afterwards.

My boss is the VP of Operations for a large company. He's been married now for 6 years to someone who was his direct report and he had an affair with whilst in a previous relationship (not married but serious). I'm friends with both him and his ex and their relationship was a disastrous toxic mess on so many levels but neither of them would have exited from without him initially cheating. Both of them now happily married to other people. The company's response to it was a slap on the wrists for my boss and they moved his now wife to report to a different senior director to prevent a conflict of interests.

Yes it would be better if people could be more upfront about it, talk about it and split up before it gets to an affair but in general people suck about discussing and dealing with their problems. I'm sure the shittier and more strained the marriage becomes, the more tempting an affair becomes. Of course there are some people who are just pieces of shit and will have affair even in a happy marriage.

The idea of making a lifelong commitment and sticking to it through thick and thin is a nice thought but for a lot of people just leads to them being miserable and resentful. It's great for the people who it works out for and all power to them. I certainly hope my marriage ends up being lifelong and it's far healthier than my first one. But I also think people should not stay in bad situations because of a dated concept of a lifelong commitment

Yeah, has to be. Like affairs are a shitty thing to do but it doesn't appear to be abuse of power if it's consensual like they said.

I always feel like affairs are super overblown into being bigger deals than they are. They happen far more frequently than people act and outside the individuals involved, who gives a fuck. It isn't illegal and it's their personal private life. And I say this as someone whose first marriage failed because my ex wife had an affair in the workplace with one of her direct reports. So I have first hand experience of being on the receiving end.

I probably shouldn't be taking the Lions and Dolphins to win when I'm in 1st but whatever

Really enjoyed it but I can see why others wouldn't. Isn't like the first 6-8 hours or so of the game basically tutorial-esque handholding?

I used to love them as a kid but I basically never eat dessert as an adult. I still like the taste but I just never really feel like it.

But I'm also weird as I don't get enjoyment out of eating which it seems most people do? So I'll only eat when I have to / when I'm hungry. Eating is more of a chore for me than something that makes me feel good.

I thought it was a strong premiere and gives me hope for the rest of the season. Seasons 4 and 5 were *very* hit and miss for me personally. Show kinda felt like it was going through an identity crisis for a while.

We're probably not seeing Evil Morty for at least another season (if ever again). They tend to only sprinkle his appearances in every other season.

We are definitely getting him again but timeline on his return is uncertain. The spoiler quote is just stuff from last season since someone said they didn't watch everything

At Orlando City Soccer like 5 years ago fans threw shit on the pitch in protest of a really bad officiating job in a loss to Atlanta (rivals) when both teams were undefeated. It was bad officiating but still never justified.

And now the result of that is all drinks have to be in plastic cups instead of cans or plastic bottles. And all bags brought into the stadium have to be ridiculously tiny or transparent. And it has been the bane of my wife's existence as their max bag size is smaller than her phone and women's clothes doesn't have pockets. I have another female friend who it pisses off (the same as my wife) because whenever she's on her period she can't fit it all in the bag size they give you so has to have it all on view in a transparent bag. They both feel it's just a sexist regulation that punishes women.

And all this because some morons got too drunk and upset and threw plastic bottles on the pitch 5 years ago

From what I read 133m was guaranteed over 6 years. NFLPA advised him that he should be getting a fully guaranteed deal and if he didn't he would get 100m over 2 years going the franchise tag route (obviously health pending)

Honestly I wish they would do something about QB money. I get it's the most important position but it's just crazy money compared to every other player.

That would possibly work but there would be zero point of an east/west split if that were the schedule. I'd be fine with that personally.

Play everyone in your conference 3 times (45) and opposite conference 2 times (32) = 77 games

Play everyone in your 8 pack 4 times (28). Everyone else twice (48) = 76 games

Play everyone in your 8 pack 4 times (28). Everyone else in your conference 3 times (24). Everyone in opposite conference 2 times (32) = 84 games

There's probably a hybrid option in there where they play team an uneven amount of times as I think they said they wanted to get down to 64-72 games?

Technically correct but realistically shouldn't come into play.

Mobley's rookie extension would kick in Y5 of Mitchell's current contract. His year 5 is a player option. If he's still the same caliber of player then he would opt out early and sign an extension allowing Mobley to be given the designated rookie max. If he isn't that player anymore then you move him.

Worst case they sign Mobley to a 4 year max instead of a 5 which sounds bad but no other team can offer the 5 year deal and their 4 year deal would still be more money than everyone else.

See I'm the opposite. I am always amazed by people who can eat so regularly. My wife says I'm weird because I only eat when I'm hungry as I don't really get enjoyment from food and she says that I should. Like obviously there's flavors I like but it's a real struggle to force myself to eat if I'm not hungry so I basically never have desserts which is seems most people can eat regardless of hunger level because they enjoy it.

When I first emigrated to the states and started playing fantasy football I was absolutely dumbfounded by the H2H setup and the very realistic possibility of the best team / highest scoring team not winning the league. I had played the English version of fantasy football for 10+ years prior and those are always total points for the season as a whole wins.

I understand why H2H is preferred here as it's definitely more engaging during the season but it is frustrating when the best team doesn't win. My first few years playing here I almost gave it up as I top scored for the league 3 years running without winning. This included an undefeated regular season into a first round playoff loss to a lucky loser because my regular opponent didn't pay his dues. If I had received a bye or gotten the normal opponent, I'd have gone undefeated for the year so was understandably salty.

I think it's not that they signed him that's so offensive. It's that they signed him to ridiculous amount of guaranteed money, but also made it so being suspended would cost him nothing. That's what makes it feel so much worse to a lot of people. I actually think it's a good thing for the NFL (and sports in general) if Watson did nothing to live up to that contract.

Right, this is the issue. Honestly I'd rather he not be on a team at all but the fact that they can structure contracts to allow players to dodge what the fine should be is a joke. They know how much guaranteed money is in the deal so there should be no issue in using an average value for fine purposes.
