Okay, so normally April Fool's stuff is pretty meh at best and cringe at worst, but Calliope Mori is a fucking madlass and decided to drop THREE (so far) shitpost-y songs for the holiday. And honestly, even though it was all made for April Fool's they're kinda bangers in their own right.

Man, just finished Ys 9 just in time for Rune Factory 5 tomorrow.

It's weird, the game timer says I played for around 52 hours, but it felt just as long as Ys 8 to me, which I spent around 70 hours the first time.

Overall it was a great game. Enjoyed the world and exploration of 8 more, though the new traversal mechanics make the overall exploration feel more fun in 9, regardless of the relatively smaller map. If the next game manages to include the new mechanics of 9 with the expansive and vibrant world of 8, it'll be one of the best ARPGs that will be made imo.

The story is about the same; while 8 had I feel the bigger stakes (literally world ending disaster by the end), the story in 9 is more well structured, and had the bigger mysteries that want you to keep pushing forward in the story. The characters also are better in 9, with some very interesting twists in their growth and character development.

So yeah, great game. Highly recommended for any jrpg/arpg fan.

RF games are basically Harvest Moon with a dungeon crawler attached to it, right?

If so, which side does it lean harder on? The light farming sim, or the dungeon crawler?

As far as RF4, I'd say it's a pretty even split between the two, alongside the relationship building.

Farming can get pretty involved with different soil stats like quality, growth speed, health, etc, so it's not exactly a "light" farming sim.

Hololive EN and ID just had their first 3D concert, but you have to buy tickets to see it, and those cost like $100 (for the whole two day event).

I'm already tapped out on frivolous spending this month with RF5 and Ys 9.

I'm really only interested in seeing the EN and ID girls, so I'm very thankful for the guys who uploaded clips of their performances so members of the broke gang can participate.

If it's the Definitive Edition you can get all the required materials for Colony Upgrading through the Time Attack trials.

Although, the materials only unlock near the point of no return at the end of the game so...

Here's a map which shows Collectable points and percentage drops. Ice Cabbage is the rarest resource unfortunately at only 6% chance at most.

Probably because the game gets wonky with proportions, FOVs, and camera angles.

But yeah, Bayo is not that tall. Luka is taller than her even.

Looks like I'm getting two new JRPGs this month, if I also get Rune Factory 5.

Obligatory plug for BTB's Brave New World mod.

TC, once you're done playing the original I highly recommend playing the Brave New World mod for the SNES version.

It fixes a lot of the issues the original has, where everyone in the end is just spamming Ultima, by restricting the espers to certain characters. It also fixes the stats and abilities so that each character's unique abilities, like Blitzes, Bushido, Rages, etc. are completely viable and powerful options as well. It makes each character unique and makes you think more about proper party composition and strategies, rather than just picking whoever has the highest Mag stat.

Plus, even though it's the SNES version, it managed to include the 8 dragons + Ragnarok side content as well.

Somewhere an orphan is about to become really annoying.

It's honestly one of the best romcom manga I've read so far. Right up there with Jitsu Wa Watashi Wa and Kaguya-sama for me.

Both the Male and Female Main Characters have fantastic chemistry with one another. The guy is a bit passive, but the reason why he is is believable and you see him grow out of his shell as it goes on. Plus he has an actual personality which is sadly rare for romcom MCs.

Of course, the main reason why it's such a hit is the female MC, Marin. It's honestly so refreshing to see a FMC who is outgoing and outspoken about her otaku hobbies without it being played off as a gag. And most importantly SHE IS HONEST TO HERSELF ABOUT HER FEELINGS. Like damn, no tsunderes allowed here. She knows she likes the MMC and she likes the fact that she likes him. It's honestly so adorable when you see her hardcore crushing on the guy.

I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a breath of fresh air rom/com.

Oddly enough BOTH games have reported problems with framerate in heavy areas, but most agree that the underlying game could be enjoyable enough for you to power through it if you're not overly sensitive to framerate.

I'd probably hold off on getting the Zero/ZX collection for now.

Capcom games go on sale all the time and those games will eventually go for up to 50% off at some point. (probably sometime later this year or early next year)

The X collection is probably the lowest it's gonna get though so grab those if you want.

As for difficulty I'd rank them Classic<X(3D)<X(2D)<ZX<Zero

So it looks like Uruha Rushia is getting fired from Hololive.

Looks like it was a pretty serious case of breach of NDA, and considering the fact that she was their #1 superchatted talent (not just in Hololive but of all Vtubers, after Coco left), and they terminated her contract immediately, makes it seem like the stuff she leaked were heavily damaging things.

I'm not that big of a Rushia fan admittedly, but it still sucks seeing this happen, and especially how it affects the other members.
