As a fundamental matter of thermodynamics, there really isn't a solution for energy within the paradigm Moebius established. The fundamental concept of "let people kill each other, then reincarnate them, then repeat, all while skimming a little life energy off the top to sustain ourselves" is a closed system out of which Moebius keeps siphoning energy, which means it will eventually run out because of the first law of thermodynamics. Whatever tricks are employed to improve the speed at which life energy can be harvested (as was happening in Omega or that colony where everyone is a first-termer), they're never going to be able to get out more energy than was involved in creating those lives in the first place. While it's never explicitly stated, I expect this is part of where the annihilation events come in: By turning large volumes of matter into energy, the deficit is fixed and the world can continue to function, though obviously this is still a finite solution.
That's kind of the thing though. It implies that reincarnating these people into new bodies isn't losing energy, it's gaining it somehow, completely flying in the face of thermodynamics. Like ultimately, they have all the energy and are just funneling it back into the system for what should be no gain, however, they do seem to be gaining.

Anyway, I'm still on chapter 6 so I'm not going to read further.

Harem labyrinth continues to be exactly what I want it to be. I'm gonna be sad when the season ends. I hope it gets a second season before long. It seems to be pretty popular on the sites I watch anime on.

In xenoblade 3 realm, I've beat the first 4 superbosses now. Sacrificial heal, the soul hacker skill, is so good. It really should have a cooldown. The only superboss I didn't first try was the level 95 one, but I still have the level 120 one remaining.

I've at least unlocked all main game classes on all characters and gotten almost all of them to at least 10 on everyone. I've upgraded all soul hacker arts I have and every skill that doesn't require just beat x amount of enemies. You can get the healing ones insanely fast with sacrificial heal. I decided to check a list of all the UM locations and I only missed like 4. Got 3 more and then all the rest are found in the final area.

I've also discovered how insane smash is. I don't actually fully understand what determines the damage it does. Using aquaball and sumo press (the soul hacker arts) I managed to over 10 million with a single smash, but Noah with his unlimited sword's launch+smash did way less, only like 5 million at roughly the same damage percent in the chain attack.

My only guess is that when used in a fusion art, it takes the damage value of both combined to scale the smash damage? The more than 10 mil smash was even done by a healer, not an attacker, and without any damage boosting skills. I guess I should test smash at some point, or just look it up, to try and figure out exactly how to manage it. Can practically oneshot superbosses.

About colony omega. I get that they were performing flame clock experiments, but I don't get how they are able to bring people back to life in what seems to be a consequence free way. Like, they were dead, we sent some of their husks and cammuravi got his eye back so clearly these are new bodies, but they are still tenth term even though they are new bodies? I'm betting the term thing won't be sufficiently explained. The bodies are probably ether bodies instead of natural ones to begin with and they are bound together by something that only lasts for 10 years, but I don't really get why they can't just renew it or why the bodies have to start from a young age to begin with if they are essentially made of condensed ether.

Gameplay wise I got all the main game heroes (I hear there are two post game heroes, and I think I can guess who) and am set to work grinding out the last 5 on all characters. I managed to beat the double 102 UM in the non interlink cave with my random assortment of level 1 classes and one healing soulhacker at level 20 with sacrifical heal on the first try somehow. I've only got a handful of soulhacker skills and arts left to unlock, but still a decent amount to upgrade. The damn healing one took ages to finally upgrade and it doesn't even increase healing. Sad.

I'm thinking about running a kamikaze soulhacker squad. Theres an ability that gives everyone in the party 4 random buffs when an ally is revived and then for the kamikaze member, sacrificial heal which full heals the whole team when they go down, the skill that does 1600% AoE damage on death, and the skill that target locks all enemies when you get revived. I think it could actually be super powerful. Too bad theres not an art that kills me. Soulhacker is so cool though. I just wish the tank and healer souls had better tanking and healing stats respectively.

How is entrusting her body to a rando going to help redeem N's humanity? She bet on the only other person who could look at N and see someone worth redeeming- her other self. Also, you know Homecomings deleting the soul isn't something that's normally done right? A regular Homecoming would have entered her back into the cycle of reincarnation and jack shit would have been ultimately accomplished. It's a special case of torture that N was trying to use to break his other self.
N's beyond redeaming. How can you redeem eons of genocide? He doesn't deserve to have his time move again. I guess I don't know enough about the cycle of reincarnation, but I got the impression that moebeus was outside of that, as are the lost numbers. Only souls harvested by the flame clock seemed able to reincarnate. Although I just did colony Omega stuff which makes no sense. And M was working with us the whole time to stop Z, we know this because she gave ghondor the stone key thing.

She jeapordized everything to kill herself in a way she could have done whenever and let our party and the world suffer needlessly in the mean time. She then got incredibly lucky that we just happened to be strong enough to beat N without her despite getting our asses kicked the previous time. We were only saved because of a dues ex machina origin sword coming out of nowhere. Our party for some reason also doesn't finish off N even thought we beat him and have a weapon capable of doing it? Think how much better our chances would be with 2 mios against the Z.

It feels like there is actually a super easy solution for energy that presumably wouldn't make people upset. Let people reincarnate into 10 year bodies, die, then keep their memories and bring em back. At that rate basically everyone is immortal and moebeus keep getting energy. The only things bad about the system is that they have to fight for no reason and that they don't keep their memories, except when they do in colony omega, and also keep their bodies that already become husks, but were somehow unhusked, or something?

I imagine later revelations will tie moebeus to annihilation events and that the world will eventually disappear from this cycle, but it doesn't seem like that'll happen anytime soon and they should have as much reason to avoid it as anyone else.

I am very much not convinced. It feels like the classic japanese thing where they let the actually story fall to shit and only bother with the emotional beats of the story. One of those "feel, don't think" kind of things. I hate that.

good thing your plot hole complaints are directly addressed at the start of next chapter!
It doesn't at all. She could have done that in a way that didn't involve all that garbage. She also could have done that at any time to any person undergoing homecoming. She could have used her brain sync super power to tell noah and friends. Not to mention the party has dispatched like a half dozen moebeus at this point. There's plenty of ways for her to die and avoid the flow or more practically she should help us until we win and then she can fade away. How many innocent kevesi and agnian and lost number soldiers died during that month we were imprisoned? She stole a month from the rest of the cast who only have like a year or two left anyway.

Not to mention, she set her plan in motion BEFORE N decided to have an "amusing sideshow". There was every possibility N just kills the party right then and there or that the side show is something worse or that Z comes personally to stop her.

It was M that put the party through that month of suffering for no reason. It's all highly emotional, but also very stupid from a practical standpoint.

Also kind of OP and unmentioned that now Mio has the moebeus warp powers which she uses to warn the city.

So finally finished all the side content I could find in xenoblade 3 and continued on with the story and reached chapter 6. I thought the end of chapter 5 was awful. Every action made no sense. Guess I gotta go into spoilers to complain more.

Why did M swap and then let the party get captured? They gained literally no advantage by waiting for the homecoming. N was still there, X was still there who probably wasn't even in M's plans to begin with, the fake queen was there, Z had a good month of time to figure it out as well. Like, M could have just let us fight N to begin with. Nothing changed about our fighting strength in that month. M died for no reason. Especially because as far as we know, M's power should work on N. He'd be helpless.

Then theres other frustrations. Why do jrpgs insist on this win in the game, lose in the cutscene bullshit. I get that I'm overleveled (i hit 99) but I won the fight with ease. Why is the fight not just a cutscene? That goes for the M fight too. I beat the fight, THEN they tell me how to beat M. Also man, Lanz strategy was actually correct, they just needed to spread out and all attack M. Literally nothing she chould do other than stop at most 2 attackers out of 6. My gameplay performance should be rewarded in the story. Don't write stories where the main player controlled party has to lose. It's really not that hard to avoid.

There's then a bit of technical mess up. When the blade calling was sealed, it wasn't stopped completely, it just disappeared before being fully formed. Seems very plausible to at least try to attack in that moment when it's partially formed to destroy the iron bars. Also, they explain earlier but the circles on lanz armor is because it's a powerframe and the circles are still lit up so he and probably sena should have been able to bash down that door without calling blades. Especially if it was just iron. The gaps are also easily large enough for the smaller party members to slip through, especially the nopon.

Why did the lost numbers not show up until right AFTER the eclipse? The had like a week of prep time and showed up minutes too late for no reason and didn't even attempt to destroy the annihilator cannon.

Finally, why didn't noah attempt to draw lucky seven? It's not a blade. Riku even tells him to draw it, Noah breaks free for a moment, and...doesn't even try. Wtf? I was so angry watching that. Every damn xenoblade has to ruin it's story in the latter half.

Watched season 1 and almost caught up on season 2 of classroom of the elite. I like it a lot more than I expected to. From the premise I expected something like prison school without the ecchi or humor but it's actually far lower stakes than that. The worst that can really happen is you have to eat bland lunches and you can't buy more tv's and video games. Well, I guess the worst that happens is you get expelled but that's not really unreasonable at a fancy private school if you do poorly.

The first season was kind of just ok until the island arc which was pretty decent and then the last like 10 seconds of the first season was kind of a crazy thing to just drop and then not get back to for 4-5 years.

Season 2, due to the thing at the end of season 1, has been quite a bit better.

I also gotta praise the main character. I really can't think of another similar protagonist. He's so passive. So many times you'd think the main character would step in and do the right thing, but he's fine just watching and letting whatever happen. It's a level of patience mixed with apathy that I don't think I've seen. The closest I can think of is the main guy from hyouka but that's still not that close.

Additionally, koenji is based. He's basically the sigma male meme.

Oh and the ending theme is really good. i listen to it every time. OP is solid as well but not enough to listen to the whole thing each time.

how being overleveled makes you stop earning class points.
This is so much less of an issue than people make it out to be. At worst you warp to a grinding spot and max out the new class in like 15 minutes. Way faster if you don't mind dropping the difficulty to easy for the grinding (which I do mind, will never drop it from hard).

Also you unlock leveling down in post game. You can also level classes with nopon coins.

You're 87 in chapter 5? I only just hit 60 in early chapter 7. Clearly you're taking a much less direct route than I did, though I've made a point of not doing too many sidequests so as to avoid overlevelling and tanking CP gains. I hope you've at least got Soul Hack available to take advantage of all the UM's you've been killing, though at least there's the option of fast travelling to tombstones if you want to take down one you've already done.
I was actually 78 in chapter 3. I always do all possible optional stuff before proceeding. If I'm going to be overleveled for any part of the game, I'd prefer it be the story even though it creates dissonance when I obliterate some moebeus in the gameplay in 20 seconds and then my party is getting it's ass kicked in the cutscene.

I also do not have soulhacker yet. I've got every job on the class screen before soul hacker. I figure with the tombstones though it won't be a huge deal. Currently learning signifier and monicas class on everyone as well as leveling medic gunner to 20 on everyone since I finally got that side story. Although I see lanz side story is available according to the hero roster. I expect all this grinding to put me close to 99. I'm not sure if I wanna use bonus xp or not. I have enough for like 4 levels but I kind of feel it might be more satisfying grinding it out manually since it doesn't take long with overkill on elite enemies. Same with cp. You can learn and master a new class in like 5-10 minutes with an on level elite enemy overkill.

In xenoblade 3 I got to chapter 5 and can finally explore the new area and damn it feels like everything opened up. I was kind of disappointed with the locations up to this point but this makes me very excited to explore.

Already found a cave with level 100 enemies and got a relic in there for 40% healing bonus. Also managed to take some of the smaller groups and got up to level 87. Hard is pretty dang hard when I'm close to the enemies level. I cleaned up some of the level 80ish unique monsters but they took some attempts. Ultimately playing as an incursor and having the rest of the party with 3 tanks (2 with memory lockets) and 3 healers was the solution to both. Godlike crastor obliterated my team when it was squishy but wore my team down when I didn't have enough damage to take him down relatively quickly. What a great game. Although I remember I left a level 80 UM at some point when I was level 65ish but I forgot where it was. I think it's somewhere in the desert region.

It isn't, though.
It is though because my point on dromarch wasn't that people will get dromarch as a reference but won't get byakko, it's that they kept the idea of mythological beast and found a name that fit the rest of the names they chose. Dromarch does not sound out of place next to rex and pyra and nia and zeke. Byakko does.

agesboy posted...
Nia (which surprises me, since that's a Japanese name)
Nia also fits the theme of rpg western fantasy. It's also just straight up a popular western name (supposedly top 10 in the last decade). Pretty much anything that ends in ia is going to fit a typical fantasy naming scheme.

subtitle dissonance with the audio,
I'm fine with that being the sacrifice for a better sounding naming scheme. Localizers shouldn't be worried about people that play with japanese audio, and use english subs, and know enough japanese to know when the subs don't match. It's already throwing those people a bone to include dual audio.

"Dromarch: Named after Dormarch (or Dormarth). He's a Welsh mythological dog with fish tails that lives "on the clouds" and guards the way to heaven."

Thats the very first thing that pops up when I google it. It is from a topic about xenoblade, but before people had answered that question, it most likely just went to wikipedia or something. It's really beside the point though.

agesboy posted...
whereas byakko
I've heard the name before but I still don't know what it is and I've played like 10 of the final fantasy games, some SMT, persona 5, watched yu yu hakusho (ages ago) and bleach.

Meleph isn't even a japanese name
Not sure why they changed this one but why does it bother you. Same with mor ardain. Unless you specifically choose to play once in english and once in japanese, you'd never even know they are different and being a unique name, it's not like any context or meaning is being lost.

agesboy posted...
I'm not saying only leave Byakko alone, I'm saying leave all the names alone barring a specific reason to change them.
Then you lose context the original had, like homura being a name meaning flame and hana being named flower.

The only name change in the series that bothers me is dolls to skells, since dolls are already an english word that presumably most japanese people know and skells isn't a word at all. Doll actually has some symbolism with the main cast being mimeosomes and that layer is just lost on the translation when it didn't need to be.

I really think WAY more westerners would recognize Byakko than Dromarch. did you really know what Dromarch was without googling it the first time?
I don't know either one and a google search gave me the answer for dromarch on the very first for dromarch meaning. That's why for that name I mentioned the naming conventions and how byakko sounds comparitively out of place in what is mostly a european/latin fantasy sounding game.

Lightning was memed on a fair bit and it's a pretty weak name. Squall is a weird name but it's also not a common word. I wouldn't be surprised if most english speakers that played that game couldn't define squall. Cloud is the odd one out where it's pretty well accepted. I didn't play FF7 or talk to anyone about games when it came out so I can't say if anyone thought it was a weird name at the time. Now that we know him as cloud, anything else would sound wrong, but if he initially had a name that was different we might think that was better than cloud. I also remember dart from legend of dragoon which worked ok but was kinda dumb and edge maverick which was dumb enough to be hilarious at least.

Then we have an example like Sora from kingdom hearts which means sky but they just left it as sora. It lost it's thematic context for english speakers but since most people didn't know, they didn't care. It'd be like the same way with pyra/poppi if they just stayed homura/hana.

It's just a tricky spot all around for translators because no matter what they do, it's impossible to convey the original meaning and context with the name. Something is lost in translation no matter which option they go with. This is just for those two. They could have maintained most of the original context with Achilles and Patrocles, I just don't mind the change cause I think it was a weird choice originally to use benkei and yoshitsune instead of unique names. I'm not sure they really had any good option for byakku. Dromarch is a welsh white mythological beast/dog so it's really not a horrible choice.

The other thing to consider is naming convention all around. Byakku sounds out of place compared to the general japanese take on western fantasy names like nia, pyra, mythra, logos and rex. Dromarch sounds right at home amongst those names that are basically a mix of latin and early european.

Homura/Hana, but reading Pyra/Poppi
These actually kinda make sense, because japan is fine using words for names and the west isn't. Their translated names would be Flame/Flower which would be pretty lame names, so instead they went for something flame themed and something flower themed that could work as names. Meanwhile, if they just left it as Homura and Hana, most western players would have lost the name theming entirely unless they know some japanese.

I also kinda think the blades are better with unique themed names instead of just directly copying mythical hero names, but thats just my opinion.

I'm playing xenoblade 3 and it's pretty good once you get the full cast. I do feel the beginning tutorial type stuff takes WAY too long but at least the story is interesting at that point to absorb a little bit of that tedium. Also, hard is fuckin hard. I've only managed to beat 2 UMs out of the like 10 I've come across that were near my level and I'm swapping characters mid battle to micro aggro and healing. I also lost on the first real story boss twice before I basically lucked out and had break land every time I used the one break move I had. Was still a narrow victory and I felt like I was a level or 2 above what would be expected. Enjoying it.

I've watched a lot of anime today.

Watched the 3 episodes of engage kiss out so far. The fight scene in episode 1 was really cool but I feel like they haven't shown anything nearly as good since. The plot is not great but not horrible and the characters are kind of annoying.

Summertime render remains good. I caught up on the last 2 episodes and it's fun to watch, although I kind of miss when there was more mystery to everything. It's still quite good though and I'm in it until the end.

Danmachi finally started. This episode was all just prep to go back into the dungeon but it was nice getting a mild refresher on who all the characters are and what they've recently done. I'm excited to watch more.

Devil is a part timer episode 2 is out and I don't like it. This whole season better not just focus on the stupid baby. I hate babies.

Yakuza babysitter is still wholesome. Will probably need the plot to pick up a bit to stay good, but it looks like it will.

Watched episode 1 step sibling ex and it's ok. I might watch more. I feel like it might have been better if it started with them dating for like half an episode and THEN transitioned into the premise of them becoming step siblings.

Still need to watch the latest lycoris and made in abyss as well as the last 3 or 4 cuckoos.

I'm craving a good mystery after AI:Somnium Files:NirvanA Initiative but anime mysteries tend to not be very good IMO. Hyouka was good, but too laid back. Higurashi is great and thats the kind of thing I'd like but I've already seen that and umineko. Honestly the game was most like ghost in the shell when they were trying to find the laughing man. I want something new of that level but there just isn't any.

Man, I just feel like theres never enough of the shows I want to watch. I feel starved for like 5 different genres.

Finished up AI:Somnium Files:NirvanA Initiative. It was quite good, I highly recommend both it and the first game. The biggest twist in this one totally caught me off guard and I feel dumb for not seeing it earlier. In the first game, I figured out the biggest twist in it very early on. I've got a few minor complaints but overall it was an amazing experience. 10/10 would reach moksha again.

In anime watching, I've seen a bit more.

Harem Labyrinth continues to be oddly compelling. The sword cutting noises are really meaty and satisfying sounding and makes it all feel a lot more violent than other anime even though it's only a little more violent than average. I rather like the RPG approach to things so far. Didn't expect to like this one at all so it's a happy surprise.

One I did expect to like and didn't at first has definitely gotten good though with isekai uncle. The first episode didn't do it for me but it's gotten way better each episode. This one was really funny.

Overlord has also improved a bit for me now that it's more into the politics and less into his underlings being intolerable. I find the less the main cast is in an episode, the better the episode is, with the exception of ains himself.

Definitely falling behind on a few anime because of AI:Somnium Files but now that I've finished it I'll probably catch up tomorrow. This should give me a nice solid weak of no or very little games before xenoblade 3 comes out next week so I can be fully rested up for it.

My understanding is that the first season is 25 or 26 episodes and theyve divided it into two blocks, with the second part premiering in October. I usually like to binge entire seasons at once, but if this one doesnt have too big a cliff hanger I might just hop on board now!
It's another case of there being no reason to separate them into 2 parts when it should just be 2 seasons. It's mostly an episodic comedy so where seasons end is going to be fairly arbitrary to begin with.

Im sure my blurbs about the series are not necessary here and the people in this thread are likely to be in the loop and at least probably have heard the basic premise, but I already typed this all out so oh well.
I've seen all the anime you mentioned at least. Odd taxi was good, I just hated the very last scene which is cleared up in the movie version not yet released in the US. Other than that and a few minor plotholes, odd taxi was very clever in a way most anime aren't and it's dialogue seemed a lot more genuine japanese than anime japanese, at least compared to something similar like durarara which you may also enjoy, although it's a lot more "anime" for lack of a better term. It too does the modern tokyo following several different characters or groups that all collide into one story eventually. I would be very surprised if it wasn't listed as an inspiration for odd taxi.

Dr. Stone is pretty great, although I feel like the first season was a fair bit better. The gimmick of minecrafting your way up to modern tech does eventually wear a bit thin and they focus more on the characters as the story goes on instead, which isn't bad, just not as exciting as the earlier inventions, at least for me.

Spy x Family is great and I don't think theres any reason to wait for another season. Whilst there is a plot that progresses, it's still largely episodic so you aren't left on a cliff hanger or anything when the first season ends.

lastly, v annoyed at the Season 4 Part 3 reveal for Attack on Titan. Still one of my favorite series, but this last season has basically been three seasons lol
Yeah it's ridiculous. Final season part 3. Like wtf, that means part 1 and 2 just weren't the final season. Anime industry been getting real annoying about that stuff lately. It's fine for story arcs to take 2 seasons and it just becomes confusing as hell when theres month long breaks in between.

I've been thinking about playing a rune factory at some point. Kinda bored with monster hunter, just playing it when friends are on at this point. Xenoblade 3 comes out in 13 days which I'm super excited for. And in the meantime I snagged AI:Somnium files: nirvanA Initiative. I really enjoyed watching a lets play of the first one when I was too sick to do anything so I figured I'd actually play this one. My only real complaints about the first one are a few plot holes and the actual resolution being lame compared to all the cool possibilities that were investigated.

Wish I had more health and more money to play more games. I also want to play the fire emblem warriors game that came out recently and I still need to go back and play the second half of baldr sky, and finish atelier ryza 2 and like 10 other things.

I was hoping this would be the case. Isekai uncle was missing something in it's first episode to hook me in. It was another character. The last bit of the second episode introduces another character and adds the needed situational variety needed to make it good. I knew exactly how the ice sword fire dragon thing would play out but it was still hilarious. I hope we get some actual interaction with the other world characters at some point. Maybe they find a portal to our world or something.

Also earlier today I spent about 30 minutes trying to remember a single name of any character of a new show this season. After about 20 I got vermeil but her name is in the title so I didn't count it. Finally remember kelvin from black summoner cause wtf name is kelvin for a japanese person? I've started like 7 shows. Oddly I could remember just about all of the names for characters in sequels. I guess my brain doesn't devote energy into remembering names until it realizes I intend to watch the whole thing.

Started on the new season of overlord and I'd forgotten just how damn annoying virtually every one of main guys underlings are. Albedo especially just ruins every scene she is in for me. Kinda wish they'd all get killed off and replaced by some of the antagonists but that'll never happen.

Watched episode 1 of harem labyrinth. Another show pushing the envelope of what you can squeeze past the censors. I liked it more than I expected to. It's still just ecchi harem isekai trash though.

Man, summertime rendering is great. It's so refreshing to have people that are actually kinda smart involved time loop stuff. I'm sad the OP changed to the 2nd one (which is still fine I guess). If this show nails the ending, it'll be one of the best mystery anime IMO.

Watched call of the night and lycoris recoil.

Call of the night I'm not sold on but it was also just a premise episode so I'll probably watch episode 2 to see what the show will actually be like.

Lycoris kind of upsets me, but it also seems pretty good so far. The issue is, they set up this interesting scenario with a government assassin syndicate dedicated to killing (literally) all crime in japan, which is very exciting, but the show is actually about a character who gets transferred away from that branch to a much smaller more mundane place where they basically just do oddjobs that only occasionally result in violence. My problem is that the assassin syndicate is way more interesting and the story would be better if it was just about that. Will still probably watch it though. Has a hint of yuri vibes to it as well, all the assassins are girls (probably late teens/early 20s but they haven't specified).

Also finished up demon girl next door S2. I think that show is majorly slept on. One of the best comedy anime out there for me and it's adorable and becoming more yuri by the minute and somehow it's a slice of life with fast and consistent plot development which feels like some kind of cheat code or something, that slice of life shouldn't be able to do but it does. Really hope we get a S3 (and 4 and 5 and so on).

So far he does, it's just the goddess feeding him the info instead of his own memories. He's basically playing with the strategy guide. I do enjoy it though, it's just the flimsiest premise for being an isekai yet vs standard fantasy.

Thoughts on MiA season 2?
I haven't started it. I'm debating waiting until it finishes to start on it. I also just haven't been in the mood for something more depressing the last week or two. I'll probably end up watching it sooner rather than later. I very much want to know whats at the bottom of that hole, but I'm also afraid theres no way it will live up the expectations the story sets.

Starting on the new season finally. Watched 2 isekai and a reverse isekai, both isekai about summoners kinda. Monster tamer was kinda weak. I didn't really enjoy it. Black summoner on the other hand looks like the kind of isekai trash right down my alley. It's nothing special at all, but it's light hearted and I'm excited to see the dude level up and form pacts with more creatures.

But like, wtf is the premise. This is in another world without my memories. At that point, wtf is the point of being isekaid? I mean, they did use it as a pretense for having OP skills and the goddess following him around but like, they could have just done that anyway and had him be born there. Oh well, it doesn't seem to take itself too seriously. Kinda reminds me of skeleton isekai from last season, but not as good.

The reverse isekai is isekai uncle. Dudes uncle got isekaid for like 17 years and got back and is having to adjust to 15 or so years of technological development and he still has magic powers and the main guy just tries to exploit that for profit. Also the dude had a very miserable time in the isekai world. I didn't really enjoy it and I'm not sure why. I'll probably at least give it another episode.

Most of the other new stuff doesn't look that appealing but I'm sure I'll try out most of it anyway.

Wow, can't believe a new panty and stocking is coming. That's wild. Monster hunter sunbreak was fun but I'm kind of disappointed. I've got 2 quests left that may provide any challenge, but I just steamrolled through everything else so far with no resistance. Don't even feel like I played particularly well. They really botched the end game afflicted monsters, they are barely harder than the normal versions and by the time your each them you have end game gear.

My anime season has finally ended with rising of the shield hero. What an odd last episode. It really feels like an OVA collection of side stories and it makes no sense to end a season on this.

Come to think of it, birdie wing also ended really oddly. It had a next episode preview and everything as if there would just be another episode next week. It wasn't at a particularly good stopping point either.

Feels like anime just end whenever they hell they want. Although the last episode of love is war this season was a very climactic and amazing season finale.

EDIT: Oh wait I lied, the season doesn't end until demon girl next door 2 ends tomorrow. I forgot it got delayed 1 week earlier in the season.

Birdie Wing finished up and jumped up like half a point on MAL practically overnight. i'm glad, it deserves a solid rating.

This show also crossed into slightly more than yuribait.

I'm impressed how well the show has straddled the line of ridiculous to plausible. It's over the top, but never too much, at least for me, and I feel like I'm a lot stricter on that than most. It makes the crazy things feel that much more crazy. Like you'll know what I mean if you watch it, but "the arm" scene actually blew my mind. I didn't see that coming in a million years. I can't think of a time I've been more surprised.

The main 2 girls are very cute together too.

Also new monster hunter expansion releases in less than 24 hours. Time has slowed to a crawl while I wait. I feel like my life is paused until midnight EST.

Fell behind a few days but finally caught up on current anime. Only birdie wing and shield hero remain of the one cour shows I'm watching.

Decided to check out the first of the 3 episodes that aired in advance of the rwby anime that shaft did. I feel mixed, kinda think I like the original better. The music was almost annoyingly unexciting during 2 of the 3 action scenes they showed and the choreography is only ok but there were a few stunning moments of animation.

Also jarring to hear them with different voices than I'm used to.

So, why is shield hero s2 rated so poorly? Is it like Promised Neverland s2, where they goofed up the story for whatever reason, or did people just not like the direction the story took?
It's a double whammy. The part of the story where they fight the big ass turtle is super boring but also vital to the plot. The production just tried to speed through it as quickly as possible (which still took like 6 episodes) so they somewhat butchered that part that was already bad. In the 2nd half of this season, it's definitely better, but not nearly as good as the first season.

The show's main hook was how this guy overcomes the adversity by resorting to brutal or awful tactics, but he basically solved that problem before the first season even ended.

Season 2 also has one of the most lame villains I've ever seen and the way he is defeated is pathetic. Like, dude had no plan.

Now the show faces a new issue. All the villains have been dealt with, either by joining forces with some or by killing others so at this point all thats really left is the mystery with the waves and probably monster of the week bullshit.

Damn, love is war really ended with a bang. This season of it is top tier for romantic comedy. In fact, I'd say it's the peak, there is no better romantic comedy in anime. I'm sad it's over. I wonder if there will be another season. I hope there will be. I could watch these lovable idiots for hundreds of episodes. Anime of the season for me.

Skeleton knight's season ended today. It was pretty much exactly what I hoped for. A very basic overpowered protagonist isekai story. The characters were light hearted and fun, the villains were basic and cartoonishly evil and thus boring, and the world was mildly interesting. Sounds kind of like I'm criticizing it but it was honestly fun every week. Not even really a guilty pleasure, just solid but basic.

Next week is going to be so long and empty while I wait for monster hunter to release. Unrelated but it's like 95 degrees outside and our AC broke and I can't sweat cause of my health condition and this is misery. Fortunately I found a fairly powerful fan but man, I did not appreciate the value of sweating when i was healthy. That shit is saving your life.

Finished off 2 more shows.

Quit hero was a mediocre show with a nice twist near the end. The ending was expected and ok I guess. I kind of hope it doesn't get a season 2 because all the characters finished their arcs and theres really nothing that should stand in their way.

Tomodachi game I did manage to finish. I got complaints about pretty much everything but it's whatever. The last episode was a really random pointless thing that feels like a weak place to end the season.

This season is really coming to a close now. I've still got about half the things left but skeleton knight ends thursday, love is war ends friday, spyxfamily ends saturday. Might have to watch a few more finished shows next week to fill the time before monster hunter.

I watched the 11 episodes of birdie wing out today. Was more enjoyable than I expected. Has a good level of serious to ridiculous. My mind was blown in I think episode 8 when rose's arm fucking exploded and it turned out it was a cyborb arm the whole time.

Also kinda funny that they talk so much about how insanely strong their drives are but when I looked it up, it's like half the world record drives. Honestly impressed an anime this over the top held back so much in that regard.

Not sure what I want to watch now. Just trying to distract myself from the anticipation of monster hunter sunbreak coming out in 10 days.

I'm current. Each season of an anime is like 4 hours (20 min x 12). If you watch even 10 shows, thats only 40 hours over the course of 3 months. That's about half an hour per day.
