As someone who played Pokemon Arceus and not many other Pokemon games, I really don't get why you wouldn't want to have your whole party gain experience. Evolving Pokemon to complete challenges would be a much bigger pain without that.

I am a bit snobbish towards people playing in Casual mode for Fire Emblem, but especially FE3H with the rewind system. I try to not let it show but deep in my heart I know I look down upon them just a bit. v_v

I played a few of the pre-Casual games, but I still like playing the new ones Casual. Casual Hard at least - Casual Normal is painfully easy.

I don't think I do the snobbish thing for any easy modes but maybe I'm forgetting a game.

Welp, apparently the global version of FFRK is shutting down in three months.

Kinda sucks after having poured so much time (though thankfully barely any money) into it over the past year!

Will the story have an ending? Or is it the type of game where people care about the main story?

If you want a good manga check out Mitsuboshi Colors. Absolutely fantastic slice of life comedy without falling into the usual cliches. I like that they don't spend any time in school despite being school-aged.

I've heard some good tunes from BPM and thought it seemed cool. Shame it has those flaws.

Mars is a lot of fun. I thought I was going to vote for it... but I forgot how awesome FEHLT is. This might be my favorite match so far!

I kinda feel like Move Me's a song I'd like more with more of a modern sound. The instrumentation or whatever sucks, but the melody is good. Combat's melody isn't as interesting, but it has that amazing breathing part. Oh man, I love it so much.

Ethnic Cave starts out good and doesn't really go anywhere. Toby Fox has a lot of good songs, though I've never found any to be great for whatever reason. Too bad none of them have connected with me so far.

Worse than the average Mega Man X story. Way too complicated and confusing, plus the localization is awful.

Yeah, I think the later weapons are good, but the later levels get a little long. I like them being briefer.

Incidentally, if people like this game and want more like it, I'd recommend checking out Cloudbuilt and Severed Steel. Both of them are fairly different, but have the same sort of feel. Cloudbuilt's a speedrunning platformer more based on movement than weapons, while Severed Steel is based on combat but gives you a feeling of powerful speed imo. Cloudbuilt's the more similar of the two, I think I'd say?

Mm, that's fair. Characters definitely speak their thoughts unnaturally sometimes.

Hmm, I won't watch the final episode until the weekend, but I feel like the prequels have very different flaws! Main weaknesses of the prequels are bad acting and dialogue. Main weakness of Kenobi is maybe that it plays it too safe? Doesn't have a lot of crazy characters or twists.

Two more spring animes compleat:

The Executioner and Her Way of Life - this started a bit slow, but got better as it went. My main problems with it were the weak characters designs and some bad dialogue (please never talk about being a strong/pure/etc. priestess again). The cast was pretty good though, and the worldbuilding was compelling. Ashuna was a fun twist on a warrior princess - I loved how consistently confident and selfish she was, while still being heroic. The action was also much better than I expected - lots of 2D monsters, with only a bit of CG. It's a shame they stick to the 'best friend' angle rather than going full yuri, but oh well.

RPG Real Estate - Consistently enjoyable stuff. The parts with them finding houses for people were generally a good vehicle for nice cute girl antics. The more serious story parts were all good too I think, and I love that they actually killed the main character, which I wouldn't generally expect to happen in a cute girl SoL show. I wasn't a fan of the overly sexualized character designs, though they were occasionally hilarious (particularly Kotone's sisters). Fa was the best character from start to finish. Any scene focused on her was guaranteed to be great. Kotone could also be surprisingly funny sometimes when she did really dumb stuff.

Oh right, Valkyrie Drive definitely holds nothing back on the yuri front, and seems to cover a whole story.

Kiss and White Lily for My Dearest Girl is clearly the best as far as manga goes. Hana to Hoshi, Prism, and Aoi Hana are all excellent too, despite Prism's tragic cancellation.

I'm rather more fond of the super arrange of Silent Desert, but this version is still good. Spirit of the Mountain is a lot of fun too! Close-ish match.

Panditah bores me. Sky of Twilight definitely does not. It's inconsistent, but the peaks are crazy high.

Morning Bell sounds like something off a typical movie soundtrack. Not the uniqueness I want from Yoko Kanno. Although there are better MRD songs, MLW is good shit.

Bloom into You is the best yuri anime by far, and it goes more places than a lot of others. It still ends pretty prematurely though.

Asagao to Kase-san is an hour-long OVA that has the couple already in a relationship. I haven't seen Sweet Blue Flowers, so I dunno how far that goes.

Falcom hates Dawn of Ys because it was made by another developer, right?

Adashima anime was too slow imo. I haven't read the novels, but from what I've seen the anime covers the first three and they get together in the fourth. It's just like why

They should've found a way to streamlines replays better. Also, the Church route probably shouldn't exist. Just integrate its character development into other routes - I feel like no one's actually happy about playing it.

Burning Hearts kinda feels like a song that would come on the radio and cause me to switch stations. I feel like Burning Rangers has had better songs than this in these contests. Home Sweet Home kinda feels like a nice modern FF song, but it doesn't go as many places as I would've liked.

City of Tears has that nice feeling but with some more emotion to it. This is the only close match today... stg is good stuff too but in a totally different way.

I didn't do any escort quests after the first one.

Not being able to find pawns of a certain level is strange. Playing this over the last week, I never struggled with that.

Hopefully they announce no pre-orders for the CE, in-store purchase only.

Whoops, thought this was out tomorrow. Hype slightly deflated.

Update: this game is awesome. So much fun to play.

I wouldn't really count this game as having a "card" system either. It doesn't feel like any card-based game I've played. Sure, the guns are represented in card form, but... they're the same as guns in any game with guns.

Breath of Forest still maybe my favorite MRD song. Champion Ritual has a great start, and some fun little bits.

Recall is a fine sequel to Know. Medley goes a lot of different places, as I could've expected from a medley I guess. I like the part before the 6 minute mark a lot. Interesting match.

Para Bellum's pretty solid and has moments of greatness. Think is pretty forgettable.

Caravan Stories has a lot of good songs. Not sure why Bunwaii of all songs is the one that keeps getting in. Accelerate is great. Real unique sound to it that I like a lot.

You've got your Ar Tonelico in my Atelier! Which is a good thing. Some real cool songs today. Highland Fields isn't as exciting. Kinda feels like a knockoff Chrono Cross song.

DESIRE don't have much goin' on either. Wretched Automatons is an inferior version of another song, but it's a good song, so eh.

I've thought of reading Witch Craft Works... think it just finished a couple months ago.

I mostly moderately enjoyed this. In episode 5 or so, there was a great performance that got me more into the show, and after that I liked it for sure. Then they had an amazing sequence in episode 9... which they destroyed in the next two episodes, so I wish it hadn't happened at all. The MC's probably the strongest part of the show - his sheer enthusiasm without being a total idiot makes for a great sports protagonist. His rival is lame though, and the main girl doesn't get as much development as she deserves, while the secondary girl is excellent but only gets much screentime in one episode. Still okay though (gave the show a 7). The animation's also very good.

I'd never get a regular gamepass subscription but the constant $1 for 3 month deals are nice.
