One primary issue is that the autism community now largely doesn't seem to like autism to be treated like a disorder. Which is why you have confusing mixed messaging from with within the community, in addition to the medical community. A simple example is the preference for person first languge. It was preferred for a long time to be "person with autism" rather than "autistic person". I.e. don't define people by their diseases. But as the autism community started to incorporate autism into their identity, the preferences has swapped back to "autistic person".

This is almost entirely driven by advocates with high functioning autism. I think, at the expense of those who cannot speak for themselves.

"Autistic person vs. person with autism" really doesn't matter all that much in the grand scheme of things. Potato, potahto. I feel like it's sidestepping the real issues.

By extension, regardless of what other people (autistic or not) might think, it's still a disorder to me either way. It impacts my life, it impacts my relationships, it gets me disability. No point in me trying to avoid calling it how it is. If you don't want to think of your own autism as a disorder, that's fine. But don't presume to speak for mine. (Incidentally, this makes the whole "disorder vs. not a disorder" debate similarly pointless.)

As I got older my mom got more self-conscious about it (probably as most parents would) but I never understood the big deal. Like I tried to say, it's not like it's anything I haven't already seen before. Later I would gradually realize that it was the same reaction I had to seeing anyone in that state, which ought to have been one of the first real clues that I was asexual.

I guarantee you that if I introduced myself to 100 people as having "Asperger's" and another 100 people as having "ASD", the latter group would get more quizzical looks and "what's that?" responses than the former.

So does anyone know which characters seasonal armor gives the best powers?

All 3 of the barb powers are potentially viable, although the Whirlwind and Hammer ones will probably get more focus because they are unique and enable either new builds (Hammer) or greatly simplify existing builds (Whirlwind). They won't work after this season, so people generally want to play with what's new. The Wrath power is kinda boring in comparison (just a flat damage buff, and imo it works on too few enemies to be really worthwhile, but if your build doesn't make use of Whirlwind or Hammer, you might as well take this one)

Demon Hunter Strafe power is enabling a couple builds which are really just variants of the preexisting Gears of Dreadlands set, Strafe Multishot (with the UE set) and Strafe Impale (with the Shadow set). The Impale set has far higher raw power, but the Multishot set is better suited for blazing through T16 trash. I am a fan of the GoD set, so I've been going with this class/power. It's pretty easy to put together, UE set is given as this season's journey freebie for DHs, and getting an optimal weapon setup for the Strafe Impale set is relatively simple compared to other classes/builds (upgrading a 70 rare dagger gives you a 50% chance of a Karlei's Point, your ideal weapon, so it's easier to fish for a good ancient or primal without having to do any bounty farming)

I don't know too much about the other classes to be able to say much about them. Wizard's Tal Rasha set got a rework and is supposedly potentially really good now (after previously being one of the weakest sets in the game) but not sure about their 3 seasonal powers or if they jive with the Tal Rasha set in any way.

Disregarding the aesthetic aspect (because I don't care):

I don't understand why someone would go through the bother of putting on socks (to me, already a monumental undertaking) only to not bother to finish the job with some shoes. To me the primary reason to use flip flops is the convenience factor, you can just slip from barefoot to not and back quickly and easily.

The 95 and 85 cancel each other out (they average to 90)

So the only score you really need to consider is the 94. It's 4 over 90, so the remaining score must be 4 under, or 86.

My suspicion is that it meant to say "how many years ago was Sally's mother 3 times [Sally's] age", in which case 41 would be a correct answer (Sally would be 13 and the mother would be 39).

The other choices don't result in the mother's age being a multiple of Sally's, so the question also could read "how many years ago was Sally's mother's age a multiple of Sally's age?"

because if you die you're probably not clearing a rift in time while pushing the highest you can do

So? You can keep trying again until you either get better or get a better rift layout, with absolutely no risk. The first few deaths barely add any delay to your rift, anyway.

There's really just no reason to waste damage potential in a mode where there's basically no punishment for dying anyway.

Have you played D3 in the last 8 years? There's infinite endgame progression. If you're playing solo, you need some form of survivability, whether it's intangibility, bulk, or CC, to not get one-shot. If you're playing in a group you usually have a "support" or two that take hits, CC mobs, and group mobs so that the DPS can focus on dealing damage.

I'm playing it right now.

My point is, if it's softcore, who cares if you get 1 shot? There's no need to sacrifice offense potential for that stuff because death is a slap on the wrist. If you're solo, you can put Spaulders of Zakara on your follower and there is literally zero consequences because your gear won't even decay.

Softcore feels like it makes some elements of the game pointless. Why bother considering defensive skills/passives/gear/gems or giving any sort of thought into what your character can handle, when you can just full-strength throw them over and over into a wall and it doesn't even matter how many times you splatter against it?

The only element of hardcore I don't like is dying to things that aren't even your fault, like network issues, due to the game being always-on (at least on PC).

Really think the appeal (or not) of HC mainly hinges on how much these two factors sway you.
