Soundcloud rap doesn't mean that it was only big on Soundcloud. There's tons of rap on soundcloud that isn't soundcloud rap. Soundcloud rap just got named that because it was the biggest style to come from the platform, and plenty of soundcloud rappers charted.

I know thats what Im saying, I said that xxxtentacion used SoundCloud as a platform but was never considered a SoundCloud rapper by his actual hardcore fanbase, he said xxxtentacion was SoundCloud rap genre and I said I get what you mean but idk if Id classify him as SoundCloud rap the genre just cause he was on SoundCloud. As in he has music on SoundCloud but said l he wasnt SoundCloud rap

and the other part I said about him charting high wasnt in response to SoundCloud rap as a genre it was in response to him saying x was popular I was just reminding that he was like extremely popular

he did like screamo mosh trap, r&b, rock demos, pop, boombap rap, emo rap, etc. he was somewhat more versatile than his surface sound depicts with a variety of sounds on his catalog

Not only did he die way too young with an output that was honestly mostly bad, but the soundcloud rap genre itself is pretty dead now too. He was popular, I'll give him that, but the only thing that will make him a legend is some yet-to-exist rapper becoming a legend themselves after basing their own sound on xxxtentacion
