Word, that shit with Joe and gladius in the doggy topic was disturbing as fuck. Neither ladies said anything wrong, but he kept taking it as "you think anybody into bdsm is an abuser"

He's always so defensive. I mean, the way rebel behaves in general gives off serious abuser vibes, so it's probably true for him.

Definitely. I was half falling asleep at some parts lol.

But it does feel very Indy/Mummy, which is a weird vibe for an MCU show, but I kind of like.

Also, wtf. They haven't linked a single thing to the MCU so far. No mentions or anything. Even Daredevil was name-dropping Hulk, Iron Man and Cap in the first season.

He's said that Will was in the wrong but this was an issue between just two people and they have seemed to squashed it.

Him being a hypocrite would be if Will Smith said something negative about a whole group of people and Vipey defended him.
They haven't squashed it though. Just last night Chris Rock said he's still processing what happened.

Also, I didn't call him a hypocrite in reference to this, though there is some hypocrisy in defending Will so hard.

How did I make this personal? You keep bringing up people being mad and I was wondering why since you're always mad too. If I wanted to make it personal, I'd bring up how you're also a hypocrite since you say racist shit yourself.

I mean, even here, you're talking about me being emotional for some reason when I'm just describing how you've been acting in Will topics and making excuses talking about him being "attacked so badly", lmao.

I went in with zero expectations tbh. I like Moon Knight, but I expected live action to be bad, but gave it a chance because of Oscar Isaac.

Not bad tbh. It kept me hooked and without a single MCU reference. Had no idea Ethan Hawke was in this, so that gets me even more hyped. Though the villain itself is super cliche.

So I guess when they don't have previously established characters, they make up for it through A-List actors. I can dig it.

You're conflating people hating them, with anybody criticizing Will for what he did on Sunday. It doesn't work like that. It's clear you don't see it as a big deal and have spent considerable time trying to downplay it. But have no ability to see why others might.

The whole planet is talking about it, and people are gonna have emotions. You're constantly here getting mad at shit, so I'm not sure why it bothers you so much.

I mean, I just dont see why you want him attacked so badly. Millionaire actors are still human but its whatever. You all can feel however you want. I just know I had a breakdown very similar to that once and Im glad my family didnt attack me for it. And yes, I want people held accountable for being racist or hurting someone. Im not saying Will shouldnt be held accountable. But people are taking it too far and I dont see this as just another celebrity thinking hes too good for usthats a weird angle to take. Its not right to compare it to a racist making racist statements on twitter and being outed for who they really are. Like I said, this is out of character for him.
Attacked so badly? The fuck are you talking about? Nothing has happened to him. The Academy is barely talking about kicking him, which is the fairest thing.

You're accusing people of hating the Smiths when it seems like you like them too much and are blinded by it and making all these excuses. Regular people face far more scrutiny and consequences and they've never afford them any benefits of the doubt.

But Will Smith has an army of apologists and they're not even being subtle about it. They're clear that they love him so much, they can't picture him doing this and need to make all these pathetic excuses like an apologist.

Honestly, I dont think hes in a good place at all. People always calling him soft, people constantly making fun of his kids, Jada being a little crazy. Hes spent the last 3 or so years trying to open up about his personal life and I guess in a way vent. He had his book, and that weight loss thing he seemed kinda self conscious about. the man has a literal Disney show where he does crazy things in an attempt to find himself again.

and the only thing that happened is people made memes and fell for clickbait headlines. Hes trying to save a marriage he still very clearly wants to work. Even when he gave his acceptance speech. The crying didnt feel like tears of joy or regret. It looked like his emotions just all started to spill out

Im not trying to act like a psychiatrist or excuse his behavior, but what he did is completely out of character for him. This isnt the same Will Smith I grew up watching for the past 30 years. I think maybe just put away the pitchforks and the bloodlust and see if hes ok first. We always want to say we care about mental health, but then when someone out of character exhibits signs of needing that help we just continue attacking him. This isnt like Kanye who needs the help but has made it a habit and pattern going on 15 years almost. This is Will Smith. Im glad he had people like Denzel there supporting him after what happened. It seems like he needs more of that.
Lmao, this is so fucking delusional. Dude sitting here talking about what his crying must have felt like.

Some of you are really having trouble processing this.

Extra hilarious when Vipa is usually at the front of wanting people fired for things they might have said. But the millionaire actor getting attacked for getting up on stage to attack someone?

Overreaction. Have some sympathy.

So suggesting that people be treated equally is a middle school level thinking? People are literally acting like this is the worst thing ever, when clearly it is not. Now that is not being a objective. Things like will treatment here , highlights why black people can go to jail for longer then a white person when they both do the same crime.
This is a big double standard and needs to be addressed .
Dude, you're all over the place and just throwing everything out there.

None of that has anything to do with looking at this objectively. Equality has absolutely nothing to do with this.

When he assaulted someone on stage, help to KILL people with anti-vax bullshit, and attacked people on set..people who were just working. Now when America comes at Jim for all of his bullshit. Then come for Will.
You keep bringing up what all these other people have done but all of that has nothing to do with what Will did.

Just because some of the people happen to be hypocrites has absolutely nothing to do with what Will did.

You defending him simply because of that shows you're extremely biased and not looking at this objectively.

I find that one so strange. Out of all these years he's the only guy who did that? Absolutely no one else has done it in the last 18 years? Did they base the Curb Your Enthusiasm episode on that guy? lol

I reckon in that case they picked a guy to be made an example of. On top of that it would still be another 14 years after him until they actually did start expelling people in response to Weinstein being a sex offender.

The Academy most of all cares about how they look. It's definitely a balancing act of trying to give the right level of punishment while also not rocking the boat too much. Which is why I'd be surprised if they did end up banning him.

Unknown5uspect posted...
Or, and hear me out. The screener sharer should have gotten a slap on the wrist because I can almost guarantee everyone does that.
Will gets something in-between that and expulsion.
And we keep the rapists and child molesters out the Academy
Because Caridi leaked at least 60+ screeners over the years that were provided to him by the Academy. He broke their terms and was kicked.

Just like Will did.

Like, it's not a sex offenders list nor should those be the only people on there, or is it tainted and non-sex offenders should never be expelled.

Lmao at people equating this to fighting with friends and trying to handwave it as "just a slap".

Like the point is totally going over your head. The problem here is how he thought he was some type of king that could waltz up to the stage on a international broadcast and just smack a dude over literally "Jada, I love you. GI Jane 2, can't wait to see you".

If you got buddies fighting over tame shit like that, that's not ok. I've known tons of losers like that and cut them out eventually. Actual friends don't be reaching that level, especially at older ages.

He doesn't have to be arrested or sued or anything, but he should face actions from the Academy, which Whoppi Goldberg, who is an Academy governor, has said he will.

One thing is for certain, George Lucas would not have written a treatment for a female-centric Star Wars. He struggled with female characters.
The original stuff was incredibly female centric. The main character was female, there was also Luke's daughter, and then the secondary main villain was Maul's female apprentice. Leia would be the most important character with the trilogy ending with her becoming Supreme Chancellor.
