I crossed the 100k threshold the first day I transitioned from postdoc (contractor) to employee at my job. And I work for the government which has a long history of underpaying employees compared to the private sector. If you don't live in a flyover state and work in a competitive area, 100k is not that exclusive of a club. I make less money than anybody else in my friend group from grad school including somebody who is currently a contractor in the same city and another person who lives in Tennessee. --- Roll Tide & Go Irish |
