I loved the whole idea of doing bigger and crazier stunts as the series went on. But 9 is when it officially jumped the shark for me, taking it a bit too far. Even with a character lampshading something like "don't worry about the physics", it still stuck out like a sore thumb.

Well from what I understand unless things changed the Mutant population is like decimated cus Wanda in the comics is just OP as fuck and made House of M happen.

for the upgraded versions of games, they can just add a patch that improves on some visuals/performance rate, but overall, it's still the same game.

for this, it's built from the ground up - new engine, enhanced mechanics, and likely alerted level design to justify those enhancements.
