Well, no, his real mom is dead. He lived with his grandparents on his mothers side. Battler had a falling out with his father because his mother Asumu died 6 years before the story, but his father married Kyrie almost immediately afterward, so he moved out. And yeah, this was all said VERY early in Episode 1. Like first chapter early. |

For example if you have spoilers set to on you can (very large AI 1 spoiler) And otherwise the plots are truly unrelated and just involve the same characters. |

I live close to him but unfortunately we just have too different interests and world views to be actually 'close' as in hang out, talk about life and hobbies in a meaningful way. He's very much a 'sports and news and real life' kind of guy that can't stay awake watching movies, has no interest in games, tech, or reading, doesn't really watch anything on TV but some reality TV, etc. Basically all the things I'm not into and vice versa, not to mention differing religious and political views. But we are on very good terms overall. Just because we don't have much in common doesn't mean we don't get along. |

I find Bioshock 1 and 2's combat to be awful because while yes, there is more you can technically do in combat in those games, none of it is ever actually useful. It's 100% of the time more effective to just shoot them or use a very basic plasmid, and the gunplay in Bioshock 1 and 2 is frankly just bad. So Infinite streamlining the experience and making those basic combos more fluid with overall higher paced action did WONDERS for the combat. It completely and utterly blows the first two games out of the water. It also just straight up has a better story and characters. The only thing I'll give the original is I guess it has a better twist. 2 just sucks. |

If it's below freezing and you aren't wearing enough or the right clothing you are completely fucked, especially if there is rain or snow. If you walk outside during a snowstorm without the proper clothing, you will very quickly die. You don't have to be "naked" or even close. You're saying 25 degrees is dangerous if you don't take proper precautions while simultaneously saying 95 degrees isn't dangerous if you DO take proper precautions. If you're going to give 95 degrees the ability to use shade and lots of water you need to give 25 degrees proper clothing and shelter from the elements as well. The fact of the matter is that even if you take proper precautions, 95 degrees is deadly. Heat stroke is generally considered to start being a large concern above 85 degrees. Is it possible to die in both 25 and 95? Yes. But if you are taking proper precautions it is FAR more likely for you to die in 95 than 25. |

I more or less don't know what the game is about from the trailers alone, no idea who any character is, and they aren't really showing enough of gameplay to draw an opinion on that either. It's just a bunch of flashy animations with no substance. And I already am just much less interested in general because it's action based. FF7R was decent but basically every other action RPG Square has made or published since KH2: Final Mix has been either tolerable at best (every KH after that, for instance) or outright awful at worst (FF15). |

The first Episode is well known for starting very slowly and uninterestingly. Lots of people don't make it past the first half of it, was well known even far before it got put on Steam. If you've gotten to the siblings argument you're getting pretty close to the end of the slow portion. Another chapter or so before dinner and then another 1-2 chapters after that before day 2, going off memory. |

The 'weirdness' is just Ryuukishi's writing style combined with the translation decision to stick as close to it as possible with formatting (ie leaving the massive overuse of ellipsis and such). But the actual contents of the translation are very solid on the whole. I do recommend the voice acting, though. The VAs are extremely good. |

Cold Steel 2 is a very inconsistent story. There are some absolutely killer moments in it but the vast majority of the game is a padding filled slog and some of the moments that SHOULD be better are hampered by its own writing relying too heavily on repetitive tropes. Which is a problem for Trails as a whole really but its definitely at its worst in CS2. |

Though I guess I wasn't considering that Crystal Tower is required now which probably tacks on quite a bit by itself. That's pretty lengthy. 50 is still a very extreme highball though. The big one of course is that Wanda is completely and totally out of character the entire movie. She ended Wandavision still a hero, albeit a troubled one that unintentionally hurt a lot of people, with only a vague hint she'd look for her children in other universes, not become a rampaging murderer with no thought other than making them hers. Yes, I know, "Darkhold corruption", but they literally explained a near 180 in moral compass with an offhand one liner AND said corruption happened completely off screen. It just completely shattered my suspension of disbelief. America was a walking human macguffin. She had barely any development or backstory beyond the bare minimum and then basically her big scene at the end boiled down to her going "I can't control my powers!", then Strange saying "Yes you can!", and then her going "Huh, okay I guess I can!" Wang and the rest of the order of sorcerers were equally awfully handled. Wang is suppose to be the Sorcerer Supreme now, and he did... what exactly? The defenses they had against Wanda were a shield and some glow-y arrows? And he folded REALLY fast when Wanda threatened 4 random students, but then was the one to suggest abandoning America at the end. As for the Illuminati stuff, I'm not a fan of how quick it all went down. Yes I know Wanda is powerful, but man they all died like chumps. They apparently beat Thanos straight up somehow and had no way to stand against Wanda for more than 5 minutes? It reminds me of how they had Ultron one shot Thanos in What If? and just gloss over it. In fact, the whole movie reminded me of just one slightly elongated episode of What If?, with all the problems that series had too, but none of the emotional impact that the better episodes of that series had. There's probably more I could go into but I think you get the point. I just think the movie as a whole was poorly written and directed and could have used a complete reworking. Strange's character arc was probably the best part of it but it also wasn't particularly compelling compared to most other MCU movies (including the first Dr Strange). |
