In your contracts if employment, is it stated that you're to give notice of you're looking to leave, but your employer isn't obligated to do so if they're firing you? And I don't mean getting fired because of gross misconduct or something like that. And is that typical across all sectors and all levels of seniority?

I honestly think it should be illegal for people's offers to get rescinded when they're offered a job already. I still think a 2 week notice is a good practice, for like someone said to get a good reference/referral, but yeah if this is the new trend I say get rid of the 2 week notice because it becomes detriment to the workers.
