Nomination rules seem fine enough. It feels like we've hit our limit with this bracket size though - last year was truly "Exhaustion 3" because it takes too dang long to feel like we're getting anywhere! Just round 1 takes an entire month and a half, and even then it's not until round 3 that things actually start to feel high-stakes.

One thing I've found is that I have a lot of surplus energy at the beginning of the contest; could we start with 4 matches a day and scale it back to 3 as we progress through round 1? Otherwise this thing is gonna run into early September. Or without speeding up the matches, could we create a feeling of reaching milestones by finishing R1-3 of a quarter at a time?

It was pretty good, though I wanted it to be better. I liked the mom and Miriam's characters more than Mei, and could've done without the whole Tyler's party subplot. Ultimately I think it tried to do too many things in one movie; I wasn't sure when a scene was meant to be serious or lighthearted, and the pacing needed more room to breathe. But it felt authentic and did clutch the ending, which is what matters the most to me!

9. Knew about this one but didn't realize it was this high! I'm also a big fan of wistful songs, though I prefer them to be more "active" especially with rhythm and melody. Smiles & Tears and Super Paper Mario - Memory would be closer to my tastes.

7. I guessed this right! I wasn't that confident in my guess though, going from "rwlh used it in a list" to "it must be a 10" felt like a big leap so I thought the champ to appear could be Time's Scar.
6. Same as Open Window, you obviously like it but I wasn't sure how high it'd rank. I actually mentally file this into the same wistful bucket as Open Window, where it slots a little higher. It's just hard to hear those vocals as outright *happy* rather than old-timey and nostalgic.
