lololol this is great. A rule of thumb I have is that if you notice a decent percentage of people have a problem (Something that's far beyond "you're the only one I know with X problem"), there's some societal effect that makes it a lot harder for them to do on their own.

I'm not trying to discredit personal responsibility, but there's some a line between something people with common knowledge should be able to accomplish versus having to sit down, diagnose the situation and engineer a solution with consultation for outside perspectives, that's a lot to expect the general populace to do without giving up.

Dude, the 3rd episode is one of my all time favorite one of episodes of all of anime. Absolutely chilling. And the school movie arc, I'm STILL SEETHING TO THIS DAY. FUCK THE XXX QXXXX. The mysteries are down to earth and slice of life esque but they had me hooked.

That being said, Chitanda annoyed me so much until I had to have proverbial therapy discussions to appreciate her more. She comes up with the most ridiculous of questions.

"My uncle told me something and I cried. Why did I cry?"

How the fuck should I know? Ask your uncle!

"My teacher messed up his lecture notes? Why?

WHY THE F*** WOULD I KNOW AND WHY DO YOU CARE?

And yet we go on off a super engaging discussion where the 20 minute episode blows by in 5 minutes. I swear, this show knows how get me riled up while super invested concurrently.

Your list could be summed up as "I just like Cute Girls doing things" The anime playlist with a special guest appearance by Steins;Gate. That being said,

Yuru Camp
A Place Further than the Universe
ShiroBako
Sound! Euphonium

Are all great anime. Yuru has a special place in my heart for being a camping anime that juxtaposes group camping versus solo camping. Rin's solo camping adventures especially resonated with me as I used to be in the boyscouts but hated it, and watching it made me understand what I wanted the most out of in outdoor camping, solitude. Also, the OST is on point.

If I were to recommend a show to your tastes OP, I'd recommend Sabagebu! (or Survival Game Club). Cute girls doing cute things with guns, but the main character is RUTHLESS. Momoka has zero problems backstabbing people to get ahead, or headshotting little kids or the elderly who get in her way.

Plus every thing you do or post is un scrutiny by every person that can see it, both positive and negative. Sometimes it feels people do stuff just to post about it for clout rather than geniune ambition or generosity

We're not meant at all to be constantly exposed to what's going on in other people's lives, especially you're constantly bombarded with only depictions of great times as if their lives are absolutely perfect and nothing goes wrong. I tutored an Asian girl whose family owned a Chinese restaurant. They were willing to pay out $100 for a tutoring session when I was fine doing it for free. And the lass told me about how gungho her parents were with her schoolwork, to the point where they were actively monitoring and optimizing her diet since she was a swimmer. I had to respect the dedication and investment they were putting into their kid.

This also reminds me of an Indian buddy of mine back in uni, immigrated from India to the US for college, he told me that Indians are all told at a young age; investment banker, medical doctor, engineer, scientist CHOOSE ONE.

And let me tell you, my years in College were not fun at all.

This makes total sense. My sister went into the medical field so my dad was sort of able to help her get opportunities as he's also a medical doctor. Since I opted for tech, I was shit out of luck since my parents had no clue about the field and didn't have much of a network with people in the field. I'll have to start considering investing in a network as this is a major factor in finding and maintaining success.

If you're 5'9 and over 200 lbs, if what's pushing you (not you specifically) to that weight isn't muscle, then it's gonna be fat and you clearly need to layoff the snacks, the carbs, and start exercising more. Just because BMI doesn't explicitly distinguish between fat and muscle doesn't make it not useful.

Hajime Hinata was flanderized into only caring about wanting a talent of his own and signing up for the Kamakura Project, despite several characters (including Chiaki who he seemed to adore) telling him he doesn't need a talent to be special.

Remember, he's in the bastard stepchild side school, that insecurity was always going to weigh on him, only compounded by him getting stepped on by Juzo figuratively and literally.

Speaking of Chiaki, if they wanted to make her an actual real character instead of just an AI program (later revealed the program was personified as Chiaki because of Hajime's vivid memories of her), they missed an opportunity to flesh her out as a character, which is funny considering her role in the story. I don't blame them with not doing much with the other characters since you learn enough about them in the DR2 game, but even in that game you don't learn much about Chiaki, for good reason. So, what gives?

This was a major problem with the entire show. There was no way they could fit in enough character development in 12 episodes and so the entire show suffered as a result.

The very final episode ended up being...written weirdly. In a universe where death is permanent and certain, they just up and decide to bring back all the DR2 cast from their vegetative comas to stop the threat, and Kyoko somehow got cured of her poisoning and reversed her death when enough time should've passed that it wouldn't be possible. It made for a truly happy ending instead of bittersweet, but that's...kinda what Danganronpa's all about.

In the scene where they find her body, step through it frame by frame, you should see in either the bottom left or right corner a hint on how she was able to hold off for so long.

And critics would note that the very nature of prediction markets means that they are able to hedge significantly, since they only indicate the probability of outcomes occurringmeaning that no outcome, barring one with a 0% probability, is technically ruled out

So here is the thing pal, putting anything related to your social security number in the mail is a bad idea. Most people really don't want to do that. In addition to that there are large numbers of people that don't have a driver's license. Usually urban poor people. Which are exactly the people that the GOP having always tried to disenfranchise. Hell a few years back Alabama passed a voter ID law requiring people to have a state issued ID to vote, then closed all of the license offices in the poorest and majority black areas despite having passed a bond issue a year or so prior specifically to fund said license offices.

Then why not show up to do early voting if you don't want to go for a Driver's License or using your SSID? The whole objective of these requirements is to protect the integrity of the votes. There's only so many concessions you can make for accessibility before you compromise on the integrity of the process.

We have multiple documented instances of republicans getting caught trying to vote twice in the 2020 election. We know that there was voter fraud. It just isn't happening anywhere near the level Republicans want people to believe it does.

Dude, the 2020 election saw Biden winning more votes than Obama did while winning with half of the counties Obama won. On top of that, the Bellwether counties which collectively had a 50+ year track recording of correctly choosing the president, only one of the counties voted for Biden. The prediction markets were way off, which is unprecedented, and we spent a whole week counting ballots (which is usually a red flag in elections in African countries).

Regardless of your feelings on who won, there has to be acknowledgement that there were an awful lot of anomalies this past presidential election.

I'm talking about a trend that broke out in my own school and why it existed; supply and demand. If the sister school girls wanted to play by dating game to win a relationship, they had to play by the rules and the rules were written by the limited supply of guys, which lead to a spiraling down of reinforcing the trends of what I specified. You're telling me what's going on in the current dating market but you're not explaining the fundamentals that allow and drive these trends to thrive in the first place.

[LFAQs-redacted-quote]

This is certainly a way to describe what I'm talking about but it's more nuanced. There are several environmental factors that allow promiscuous women to be exploited and that has a ripple effect on the rest of the dating market in today's market. I'm sweating as I type this up because I'd rather things not be taken out of context.

But realize we seeing trends where more and more young guys are checking out of society and giving up on the chance of ever getting married and settling for 2D waifus, or parasocial relationships via female twitch streamers or that controversial R rated site, and more and more women hitting their late 30's while being single and childless, with very little chance of being able to reverse their situation. This is a societal crisis that is only getting worse.

No one's hating on him. We're hating on the idea that what he's doing can be done wholesale for every bigoted extremst in the world. Ya'll really think ISIS' leaders are just one good talking to away from being good men?

Davis actually talks about the type of guy who he sits down with to have conversations with and ultimately doesn't change his mind. That type of guy would have the choice between (paraphrasing him) acknowledging the truth of the reality versus maintaining the notoriety or power his mindset has given him based on a lie. If the position of power is high enough, he most likely won't sacrifice it.

That being said, realize that ISIS was born in an unstable and war torn environment. A lot of guys who join ISIS are young men with no meaning in their lives and are lured in with the promise that they'd be guaranteed a wife to start a family with. Between living in an environment where there is a risk of your house blown up, and not having a life's purpose makes you quite susceptible to darker paths. The type of conversations and actions you need to take to convince such a fella will be quite different from a klansman living in the US.

But the first thing you need to do is listen, which is Davis' point.

he's proven that they have worked on ~200 specific people when he specifically is doing the "converting" (or whatever you want to call it). there are too many variables to say outright that "his methods work"

Listening to the clip, he talks about his methods and it takes time to do so. It's not an overnight process. That being said, he talks about how he gets emails and contacted all the time from people he has never been in contact with to thank him for his work and that they changed his life.

He has results and has made a name for himself this way. To say his method can't scale, what is your point of reference to substantiate this claim? Mind you, his method is listening and challenging a view by offering a perception that explains the reality that one sees. Listening is 75% of effective communication and you're saying that this principle can't scale.

Allow me to challenge this belief.

I went to a co-ed college (like everyone else who went to college on this board, yes) but right across the street was an all girl sister school. Because of the distinct territorial difference, girls aren't inherently intermingling with guys like girls do at the co-ed school, which means they need to be more competitive and social to meet and date guys. One trend that broke out is that girls from the sister school sleep with the guy on the first date. And because it became the norm for girls in this school to do this, girls getting into the dating game feel pressured to adhere to the norms and thus they've created a reputation for being consider "easy".

I want to agree that it's no one's business what 2 people do with their bodies or money, but there are ripple effects that take place and at some point if too many people engage in it, privately or not, the entire society feels the crash.

Prismsblade posted...
Maybe, but this is all based on literally everyone else's possible thoughts, opinion and valdiations other then the individual guy in question..... And to them talking, touching, pleasuring and in general just getting used to being around woman in general will do more to help their self esteem then anything else.

There's no book or adviser on this, and you only learn by first hand experiance. Which doesn't come as easy to certain guys. Especially those who suffer from severe anxiety.

There are some traits that are ubiquitous among groups. People want to be accepted and acknowledged by their peers and they will be comparing themselves to those around them. If every guy can do X except for this lone guy, he's going to feel negatively about it. What keeps his head up is the successes and achievements he has that mitigate or eliminate the feeling.

And this is why MrToothHasYou's post in #22 falls short and doesn't have the impact he intends it to have. Most guys don't hunt. If it was the norm and you couldn't kill for jack diddly squat, hell yeah you would feel like less of a man because this is one of the standards to be considered a man and you didn't meet it.

Not all man who indulge in prostitution actually need it. To many, sex is just sex, and the easier they can aquire it, the better. Especially when they want nothing of a woman other then her body.
If a guy is going to a prostitute for convenience, that's one thing. If he's doing it because he has no other alternative for companionship, that'd eat at his self-esteem as then it basically say that he's not attractive enough for any girl to want him.

For a girl to go into prostitution, there's a price to be paid for using her body like that and it will be shown through her eyes in time.

Short answer: Yes. I dont like wasting my time so I wouldnt be with her if I didnt want it to work long term. Being single is way easier tbh.

Cool cool. Just making sure. The way I see it is that there are a number of nitpicks then there are the jarring red flags of her not seeing a relationship with you in the future. But some of those probably are sentiments derived as a consequence from the other red flags. You'll want to prioritize which of the flags to go after. It has been echoed before but you'll definitely want to sort through why she doesn't feel comfortable bringing you up with her family and friends. It'll require some reflection to figure out what you need to do improve to change her feelings.

If they've both cheated on each other, what would change if OP and his girlfriend break up with each other? They both have flaws they need to sort out and breaking up just avoids the problems, not addresses them.

OP, that list is going to eat at you and will proverbially build a mansion in your mind until you sit down with her and confirm what's relevant to you and what's just a generic red flag. Not seeing a future and not having the confidence to bring a guy to her family (assuming she respects and values her family's opinions) sounds like a doomed relationship. And if you want the relationship to work out, you'll need to not be confrontational or aggressive about this like you are in this topic.

Also consider returning the favor and write a list of what would make a relationship worthwhile.

This is complete f***ing nonsense and I can't believe how often I keep hearing it.

The reason we know Jussie did it is because the police investigated and found that's what happened. That wouldn't have changed if there'd been a "random white person(s)" nearby. Which in all likelyhood, there was.

The logic is incorrect as you say but the sentiments are justified because Smollett had no problem going to the police station to choose the "culprits" of the attack, only to be shocked when he saw the police caught his collaborators. These actions are what people are angry about and why they say Smollett was out to ruin people's lives with zero remorse.

If the last 10 years have taught us anything it's that precedent means f*** all anymore. Even treaties barely mean anything anymore. We've spent the past 40 f***ing years taking turns backstabbing the sunnis, Shiites, and Kurds, offering them support in the fight against each other and then bailing on them.

We spent the past 80 f***ing years trying to police the world usage of nuclear technology despite being the only ones to ever use the f***ing s*** to kill people.

If you think 20 years from now someone in China is going to be like "Well I could invade America but 20 years ago they didn't do anything to help Ukraine so I'll just leave them alone" then you're out of your mind.

When it comes to the US, our reputation is in the gutter when it comes to basically anywhere outside of NATO as we've set the precedent far lower than most people realize. But that doesn't negate the golden rule of politics, consider the whataboutism before you advocate or enforce some law before it blows up in your face.

This would mean Ukraine still hard turned off the water to Crimea and Russia could not use the oil pipleline built when Ukraine was part of the USSR to deliver oil to Russia.
Alright, then they can bring this onto the table. If you want to do a gatcha on me, you're doing a poor job because you keep blowing off the implications of NATO's condition of allied forces aiding a country in a war and the fact that the US would be installing military bases at Russia's border. You keep acting as if Russia should ignore it when I could point to the Ukraine's conflict of 2014 and what escalated it.

Are you of the opinion Russia will leave Ukraine?

Because if keeping NATO out is all they wanted why stick around or annex it?

If the US and NATO came to an agreement with Russia that Ukraine would not be allowed to join NATO, the US will no longer sell arms to Ukraine, but Russia must recognize Ukraine as an independent sovereign state, I want to say yes, they would leave Ukraine alone, based on the knowledge I have of the situation.

Tyranthraxus posted...
Until that happens, there's no point in discussing China invading by Mexican proxy as it's pure fiction. And if a USSR style collapse does happen to America it's unknown what the borders of the country will be at that point. Alaska / Texas may go off on their own.

Whataboutism in politics isn't about "whether or not it's possible to happen", it's about making sure no precedent is set so if by some chance an adversary gets the better of you, they don't have any extra incentive to proverbially twist the knife on you. Your post makes no sense.

And even then, China stated that they want to have the kind of influence the US has on the world. They've been cracking down on making sure their citizens act productively to the point where they've banned kids from playing videogames for several hours straight a day. They've been working with Russia on an alternative to the SWIFT payment system for over 4 years now. The sanctions on Russia is a golden opportunity for China to flex their new payment system to bypass sanctions and is garnering interest from other countries and mind you, 80% of the US dollars in existence were printed in the past 2 years and the US dollar is a world reserve currency where no one has the ability to defy and get away with defying in the past almost 80 years since the inception of the Breton Woods conference in the 1940's through rebrand of the petrodollar in the early 1970's. If the Chinese government had the opportunity to invade through Mexico and it was beneficial to their goals of becoming the most influential country in the world, you bet your ass they'd take it.

When it comes to politics, you have to test the whataboutism scenarios where your adversary is in the position of power. You don't want to set a precedent that you only feel comfortable with when the conditions favors you.

Not care because US has 0 plans to invade Mexico or Canada.

Can you trust China or Russia not to influence Canada/Mexico to instigate a conflict? Remember, this scenario of a China-Russia-Canada/Mexico alliance means that China gets to install military bases in either respective countries.

Take what exactly? I heard this bs from someone irl. Russia propaganda claims NATO wants to invade and take over Russia.
Is this your belief?
If not, that what harm is NATO causing Russia other than preventing them from invading other countries?

If Ukraine joins NATO and gets into a conflict with Russia, all NATO allied nations including the US are obligated to fight for Ukraine. The US will be installing military bases in Ukraine, right at Russia's border. That's a massive security risk.

Imagine if China and Russia have an alliance and start talks with Mexico or Canada to join their alliance with the same conditional support, i.e. if there's a conflict, China and Russia give them their military support. How should the US respond to such talks?

You mean if you pretend Russia didn't attempt to take over the Ukraine government via infiltration and call it a coup of a legit government?

Now why would anyone pretend that? Oh maybe because this is what Russia has been propagandizing.

Again, you have to look at who in Ukraine were pushing for joining the NATO alliance versus those who were friendly with Russia. Ukraine is not a monolith and the story becomes a lot more interesting when you touch on these aspects. I'd want to discuss this more, but it's not in my favor to do so. But I promise you (lurkers reading this), the situation didn't pop out out of the blue.
