Welcome to the most super, most marvelous, most [third MCU pun I'll think of later]-est Save My Contest of all time! 100 MCU character enter. One leaves. NO RULES. Well, except for the following rules:

THE RULES:
- You can save 1 characters per hour.
- A character needs 13 votes to be saved.
- 13 unique users need to save a character for that character to be saved.
- Ambiguous saves will not count. If you're using a nickname for a character that isn't obvious, please specify for my benefit moving forward.
- Last 1 character unsaved is eliminated or maybe dies.
- No alts, no rallying, getting your friends to vote for you, no post deletion/editing (unless correcting an update), no spoiler tags.

Masticate is one of the shorts that feels like they'd have made the same thing regardless of the letter. Masticate isn't a word you choose...it's a word you justify for. I'd be curious what word he'd have used for the other 25 letters.

This is a really interesting theory, actually. Masticate doesn't quite fit the double meaning they're going for here. Something like "Ingest" or "Consume" would go a bit better since no one ever says "he masticated some bath salts".

On the other hand, I feel like you could maybe say the same thing for any of the shorts? Like, not as bad as this one but it is pretty easy to get a word to fit any letter. I'll try it for one and see how many I can come up with in like five minutes (see how long it takes you to guess which one it is!)

Man am I shocked I was the only one with Masticate in the bottom half! I HATED that one. The use of slow mo was egregiously bad and with no sound other than that music track for 95% of things, it really felt like a terrible music video. For some reason, the first movie hand a handful of shorts that were exactly like this and I hated all of those too. I dont know what it is about but his format that lends itself to directors going hey lets use slo mo and drown everything out with a generic music background track but I thought we were free of that it the second one but then this shows up.

Sorry to everyone that liked it, but was not a fan of this at all.

Yeah, definitely a fair point. They keep things super vague and I think it works here, but I could see thinking it makes things feel a bit insubstantial. It probably helps I just had rewatched Bird Box for the Horror ranking and this felt like a better interpretation of what that was trying to go for in four minutes than the hour and a half Bird Box had.

Well it looks like the seventh score is 172 (although I guess I don't know if these numbers are still accurate since 173 isn't on here at all) and then sixth is 170, so even a very modest bump might've pushed it into the top six!

Not that it really matters, I was just kind of curious where it could've fallen.

I thought it was pretty clear, but I could be wrong! They only had one bullet and that one bullet was not going to stop whatever was making that horrible noise at the end. The husband says "maybe it isn't so bad" meaning "maybe whatever horrible fate is waiting for us on the other side of the door would make us suffer too much". I get a hint of fear from the other guys voice when he says they'll soon find out.

The gunshot was meant to be a mercy. That's why it was roulette and not Russian roulette, I think. Roulette, as in, she just won a prize. And that prize was a quick end without suffering.

Hm. Inviso has to have Zygote ranked super low for her to have guessed it every single time here.

I'm gonna go with Zygote too. Need those sweet 1500 funbucks.

I thought Revolver had a really good shot to nab the number one spot! Or at least top 5. Well made, interesting, and not too extreme to drive people away. Too bad SNAAAAAAAAAAAKE appears to have misunderstood the ending. Not sure it would've helped all that much honestly because I feel like it could still fit in the pointless category for him. Or maybe not, who knows! Either way I really didn't expect a low 40's ranking for anyone for Roulette, especially considering the totality of the 52 shorts we were dealing with haha.

I was shocked you guys seconded Makkari over Luis, because I thought Luis could get outside support and actually make the finals while I thought Makkari had no shot of that. But you guys prioritized FRIENDSHIP like a bunch of nerds.

I think Garfield Spider-Man has a similar shot, but Luis might've had a clearer path.

Although you guys have created a monster out of Yelena that might never stop claiming victims at this point so who knows!

Basically, the Ktjn crew from Smfffc plus hombad who joined up during the smash save my, minus Ermine who I think might not be doing that any more anyway. Plus maybe Inviso and MI who I don't think do this every contest but have been helping them this contest.

Sorry, the crew of friends who all save the same characters together in every save my they participate in.

I love Hela and Yelena. Either my favorite or second favorite villain and my favorite or second favorite phase 4 character.

She was my least favorite of the final eight by a fair margin, but I wasn't trying to spite anyone. There are plenty of groupings at the end where I would've trade for a NR for Makkari, but not with Yelena and Hela in the bottom two. I just vastly prefer Yelena and Hela and I wasn't going to trade for Makkari if it meant helping kill one of them.

I don't want to minimize how you're feeling, but THE CABAL was personally responsible for murdering Sylvie and then talked about how awful she was after she died too. I didn't take it personally and I don't feel like they were doing it to spite me. They just preferred the other characters that were around so I get it. I mean, it definitely sucks so I don't want to just dismiss what you're feeling and I do really want to thank you for being invested for so long. We've been doing this since January so this is a hard time to lose a character. You did way better than I did pushing a niche favorite at the very least! I hope you stay around. You guys still have Garfield at the very least who is already garnering outside support. If you're done though, thanks so much for participating and I hope to see you again next year!

Seriously though, Yelena is at the point where she just needs to outlast two characters to become an overwhelming favorite for the finals.

If she can outlast Spider-Man and Makkari she becomes incredibly strong. I dont know how likely that is (particularly Spider-Man) but I didnt think she could outlast Luis or Pierce or a couple others either so who knows. NEVER GIVE UP
