You never really get older than 25. Time and other people just tell you you are. I feel mentally no different than then. Only thing I'd keep is learning from mistakes.

I feel very differently. Feel like I have many past versions of myself I can barely believe were me. But I've been through various shit and mental illnesses so. I like where I am now though.

I didn't get my license till i 28. Always worked jobs where I could walk or had someone to give me a ride and I'd pay them. I was kinda scared of driving.

Used to have a 4 mile walk to work. I gave my grandad shit over it. I told him I never wanted to hear one of his I had to walk 5 miles to school stories at least at school you got yo sit.

yeah pre pandemic I would walk 50 minutes to work. Could have taken a bus, but that would involve a transfer and the weather was nice (San Francisco) and I like walking. Also walked to work in Austin, there was a nice hike and bike trail, shaded, about 30 minutes.

Jesus. I couldn't imagine what my teenage years would have been like without a driver's license, much less my 20's.

I was convinced I failed my U.S. drivers test when I was 19, because I had literally only driven like three times for maybe an hour each to learn, but somehow I passed on the first try. And then only drove three times between 19 and 31. Now I drive daily on the left side of the road!

I've heard it's much more difficult to pass the UK driving test, stricter but I think also there's an agreement with the US to transfer licenses without a driving test (need to look into that, would still want to pay for a private instructor though since it's been so long)

I got my U.S. license when I was 19, but barely drove in the States because it made me anxious. But Ive been driving for the last year or so on narrower roads with my International Drivers Permit. Got more driving experience here than in the U.S. at this point.

whereabouts are you now? I haven't driven in the US for like a decade, also have driving anxiety. Reason I want to move to Edinburgh (walkable, buses, trains throughout UK and Europe)

but I do want to be able to like drive to the Highlands and country so plan on getting an instructor to remind myself at some point

it took me almost 2 months to feel normal again, running more helped. Like you said, easy things were a lot harder. but yeah... hopefully yours gets better.

The fourth is actually my nieces birthday so we had the entire family up in the thumb enjoying the beach and sun. My brother-in-law did a boil and I absolutely ruined my insides by eating too much crab, lobster, shrimp, sausage, & corn.

So you are actually moving there? Thats awesome that you are able to make that happen. Its a big life goal of mine to move to live in that part of the world at some point in my life. I felt a strong ancestoral feeling of being at home when I visited Ireland many years ago.

working on it. got first round of interviews set up this week with 5 companies. once I get a job the visa process is straightforward, and I'm a senior software engineer so I don't anticipate an issue. Hoping everything moves quickly enough to be out there in August, already packed and ready to go.

I'm going to Scotland :) planning on being out there in August (which is kinda a great time cause I'll be able to enjoy Fringe fest but also the worst time cause Fringe fest madness lmao)

I mean, I used to live in Mecklenburg, Germany after the reunification, but it wasn't that much different day to day than life here. People do the same shit. I was lucky because I had peers and caretakers that spoke English. Their school is a lot harder than ours was. I remember that.

Yeah, I moved to Canada from the USA. I've lived here for the past 7 years.

It's been nice. Free healthcare, good infrastructure, generally nice people.

what made you want to make the move? did you consider anywhere else?

Biggest challenge - The paperwork, expenses and travel involved. I had to come here, fly back, then my now wife had to fly there, then we both had to fly back to the US. We had a few stressful hiccups but it worked

so far seems like getting my cat over to Scotland is going to require multiple flights. one flight to get my luggage over (I just packed up my life into 4 big suitcases and a large AF duffel bag to check on the plane with me). want to get to my destination there with all that.

but trying to figure out if it's better to fly with my cat to Paris and take a train to Edinburgh so I can keep her with me as carry on, or if having her in cargo would be better than 20+ hour traveling otherwise...(can't have carry on pets coming into the UK, thanks brexit)

Fun stories - Disneyland seemed like a myth living in Australia, but we've gone many times. We got to experience Comic Con in San Diego a few times, we've had trips here and there, parties and what not. It's been a blast

Basically all their English ones: GrimGrimoire, Odin Sphere (and the remake, which was fucking spectacular), Muramasa: The Demon's Blade, and Dragon's Crown.

I don't think any of their other games have made it to the west.

oh yeah I can't remember if I played GrimGrimoire or wanted to, should look into that again. Odin Sphere was excellent
