There are people twice that age that can't handle responsible relationships. Age does not automatically bring maturity and wisdom.

There's plenty of people like that who show signs of a some kind of arrested development. There's probably not a definitive line you can point to when the average person matures, but to me it isn't instantaneously after becoming a legal adult. I've seen some people on the internet imply age 20 is old enough for a woman to understand "what they're getting into" if they have sex with an older man, and it's not an older mans fault for basically leading them on.

Its because everyone is fully aware the system we have doesn't actually work for like 90% of people. So its easy to get behind the person that's smart enough to actually point that out, and push for actual change. The problem is we have it set up so the people pushing for change either have no intention or are incapable of actually following through with it (see: Justin Trudeau in Canada, Obama in 2008) or are exactly the kind of people the broken system benefits and are taking advantage of people not knowing better to further break the system, which also lets them cry about how its broken and they're the only ones who can fix it.

The status quo sucks - why would you trust the people that made it that way?

It's just every time it's "We need to fix the system. I know what will help, a BUSINESSMAN!"

Oh, yeah. The Union Busters and fat cat Pigs are going to fix the economy and help bring more families away from the poverty line. That makes sooo much sense.

"The fringe outsider thing is a ruse"

These fucking people are so obsessed with trying to find "outsiders", it's so odd. Especially when they prop up rich people and charlatans in the process.

It happened before in Michigan when people voted in Rick Snyder. Why do people think Venture Capitalists, COOs and the 1% are "outsiders" with special knowledge to fix what others in the government can't JUST BECAUSE they've hoarded a bunch of wealth? And why do they think those people will make life easier for them either?

23-26 is an age where you can reasonably expect someone to make their own decisions. The age disparity is a little off but she's 26.

Now I have seen some people try to claim 19-20 year olds are basically full grown responsible adults when it comes to relationships and that's just preposterous to me.

Oh so vaporwave is older than I thought it was, but again this is basically on a scale of months or just 3 years or so. I actually did listen to a few albums from 2012, sorry for saying 2013, but I only learned about them in 2014 or so anyway. Like I said it wasn't irl mainstream so I think our conceptions of when vaporwave became popular are pretty different, given there is no hitlist to base it on. It was the same thing for a while and then inspired a bunch of different styles.

Yeah, I mean Floral Shoppe came out in 2011 but seems like it didn't really take off until around 2012. So Vaporwave was reaching it's apex around 2012-2013 or so. It's also weird how the aesthetic reached Yung Lean and likely helped popularize Soundcloud emo rap style music.

Them: "That's nonsense. People are having abortions for fun because they're evil! No exceptions! You should even have sex if you're not ready for a baby!"

I'm mostly basing it around the idea that vaporwave became pretty much as mainstream as it would ever be around that time, compared to basically the year before when it was largely just people making the music with each other and was less known. But vaporwave can literally be analyzed on a period of months in terms of what is considered the OG material. And yeah I guess when the process cycled back to an explosion of people making the music rather than just consuming what exists, it would reflect the social context of the time when people were consuming it. I graduated uni in '14 and went to grad school in September of '14 so both vaporwave and gamergate were basically centerpieces of these events. So I won't say that's when the world got particularly political, but it's definitely when gender/identity politics kind of started to catch fire.

Idk if there is any kind of concept for when two things kind of explode at the same time. Both were internet mainstream but very far from irl mainstream.

Fashwave emerged around 2015 when the ol' gate happened. Vaporwave hit popular internet success when Macintosh Plus released Floral Shoppe in 2011. Vaporwave was popular for years until GG happened then all of a sudden Fashwave and Trumpwave happened. I'm just surprised to learn it was probably because of GG, of all things, that Vaporwave got mashed up with Nazis.

???, touch grass.

I was just out there today. And I'm not really sure where I'm wrong here. Women are exceptionally guarded and choosy. Talking to guarded women in public gets you nothing but pleasantries or small-talk, if they aren't pretending to be busy, or receiving a text, or pretending/listening to music with head phones in. And that's fine, to a point. Not every time and place is an area where someone wants to be hit on and they may already be taken. But it's really hard to feel interested in taking a chance when you don't even feel wanted.

Society is to the point that women are exceptionally wary of all Men in case they are "up to something" unless that man is their type because of how creepy some men actually are against women just because they exist and are visible. It feels weirdly isolating being in public and getting the sense that all women have their guard up, because it makes it pretty clear they don't want anything to do with you based on your appearance. Not to mention that men are so starved for positive interactions with women (because men mostly traffic in degradation because haha funny suck it up buttercup), you then get to navigate the psychological minefield of "Am I misinterpreting bare minimum kindness as an invitation or not?" when they actually talk to you so either you take a shot. Or you don't to be polite (and feel like your sabotaging your once a year small chance of a woman actually bothering to pay attention to you).

On top of there being so few places to actually try and break down these barriers, it's no wonder people use dating apps. But then you run into the same problems, on top of there being 1000 women for every ten men. Women using it to humiliate men or "have fun" at their expense. Or Single Moms, which that's fine there's nothing wrong with that, but not everyone wants to date into being a Dad out of nowhere.

I guess what I'm saying is nobody "deserves" to be in a relationship but WHY DOES IT HAVE TO BE SO HARD

I literally had to go out of my way to not instantly annihilate any new Nemesis in Shadow of Mordor. Barely a handful of them in my game got to level up because I only ever occasionally died. They were always so weak and easy to cut down immediately. The original Nemesis I had also permanently died the second time I killed him, which I don't think was supposed to happen. By the time I stopped tearing through them like tissue paper, I got mind control, so then I was like curating Nemesis to make them my mind slaves.

The Puritans eventually died out. The Catholics took up their reigns and made it weirder. I tried to do some reading on Puritans and it seems like some of their ideas are exaggerated and their weren't quite that opposed to sex and sexual expression. It's really the Roman Catholics who started "sex is for making babies and a sin in any other context".

At any rate, at least they aren't Calvinists or modern day Baptists or Protestant Evangelical types.

I dunno. Sometimes I feel like I'm waiting to die. Like just anticipating it, not like tapping my watch waiting for it to happen.

Every year something gets worse. Things improving or getting better are just preludes to disappointment and dissatisfaction. My self esteem drops, feeling of love is the most debased, cliche form of it (unconditonal love from parents I've lived with for way too long), and a feeling that I'll literally never be able to self-actualize my life because to a certain degree I have no potential because I have no career or life drive. I'm just grabbing at the dust, the imprint memories, and the cobwebs of Public School when my life wasn't so empty.
