NBC made a Sesame Street like children's series back in the 70s called "That's Cat." John Sebastian performed the theme song. John Sebastian was most famous for writing and performing "Welcome Back", the theme to the sitcom "Welcome Back Kotter" which is where John Travolta first became famous.

The show featured a shit ton of famous 70s singer song writers, which is what helped it become so acclaimed. Even though "That's Cat" won Emmies, it was never released on home entertainment due to all music licensing issues involved. They played reruns of it on Saturday mornings back in the 80s before the cartoons would start. Then the 1985 fire at NBC studios destroyed all the master copies.

Not a single episode of "That's Cat" survives. A few short skits have appeared, but these were from film students who had their work aired on the show and who had uploaded it themselves. They are not the show proper featuring the hosts. The only hope left is that someone at home taped a rerun on VHS and uploads it. Or an NBC affiliate has a forgotten copy collecting dust.

Here is a video about it:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5LcAdVUbvIA

For years, people have begged John Sebastian to upload the theme song or at least live perform it, but he has refused citing "Copyright issues." Here is someone performing the theme to the best of his memory:

I remember a video that made the point that there are real underlying issues incels are facing, but the only people they can turn to are grifters and critics. The critics have a point, but they aren't really interested in giving solid advice, they just want to understandably prevent toxic behavior. The grifters have some solid advice, but it's buried under a ton of misogynistic bullshit with the goal to make money or promote a dangerous agenda.

This skit in a longer video sums it up:
https://youtu.be/be_Ms3nVG10?t=954

Actually, the whole video is pretty thought provoking. I don't agree with everything though since it ignores incels like Elliot Rogers who willingly blind themselves to good advice because they won't face the reality that their issues do not entitle them to sex.

To be fair to Zac Efron's movie, it wasn't the first time Ted Bundy was depicted as stunningly handsome. Mark Harmon (Gibbs in NCIS) played him in a TV movie back in the mid 80s, and they depicted women as falling all over themselves trying to help Bundy.

if anything its more of a crazy journey that Jesus teachings lasted throughout all these centuries when his historical version seems to have started and ended without anywhere near such an accumulation of power

The key to Jesus' popularity was that his teachings were all written down even though it was 3rd and 4th hand information from after his death. Every other holy man or magus didn't have that luxury. It also meant his teachings could be spread far and wide to anyone who was literate. It was also gripping reading for the time period.

Another factor included Near Eastern religions such as Judaism becoming trendy within the Roman Empire at the time in the same way Asian philosophies are trendy in Hollywood today. Christianity had the lowest threshold for admittance as well as adherence - such as not having to be circumcised or having a special diet. Mithraism was Christianity's main competitor and it too was a Near Eastern religion with a low threshold for admittance.

Finally, Christianity targeted women, slaves, and the poor, who together made up the vast majority of the Roman Empire's population. Most religions at the time favored wealthy and powerful men. Christianity's early benefactors and leaders were wealthy Roman women. A lot of this was covered up by the later Church to make it's origins more reputable. But before that, Christianity was usually slandered by the Roman elite aware of them as being a religion of slaves and women.

From:

Though Smith is portrayed as Pocahontass love interest in the famous Disney movie, theres no evidence of any real-life romance between the two of them. In fact, Pocahontas was just 11 years old when she met him.

Growing up, Pocahontas dressed like other Powhatan children, which meant wearing minimal clothing. At a young age, she shaved most of her head. Among her people, only adult women could grow their hair long.

That would have gone over well in the Disney version.

Why did people feel Zelda needed a timeline but nobody cares about a Mario timeline?

IIRC Mario did have a timeline up until the early 2000s, but they retconned it by introducing Pauline to the modern games. The Mario in the Donkey Kong arcade games is the father of current Mario and Luigi. Also, the current Mario and Luigi had an ancestor named Jumpman who went to the Mushroom Kingdom and got married to a member of the royal family. They are his descendants so that means both have Mushroom Kingdom ancestry.

Strawberry Shortcake is a strange case. She was originally a line of stationary and greeting cards done in watercolor that were sold in Hallmark stores. Then she got her own toys, with the cartoon being last.

There was another character franchise sold in Hallmark stores introduced around the same time named Holly Hobbie. She was a pioneer girl in the vain of Laura Ingalls from "Little House on the Prairie." She never got as big as Strawberry Shortcake did. Personally, I think it's her design since they never showed her face.

Drapetomania was a supposed mental illness that, in 1851, American physician Samuel A. OTOH, if any black person is still using it often unironically, they are probably in their fifties. It's definitely slang from the New Jack Swing era.

Peter only started pulling a harem because of John Romita Sr. hopping onto the book. Most of Romita's experience came from working on Romance comics. He turned Spider-man into a Soap opera due to the artist being a part of Marvel's writing process.

Also, Human Torch in the comics independently also calls it "The Parker Luck". However, he considers it good luck since Peter has family, good looks, is a genius, and women constantly throw themselves at him.

YT video with TikTok video framing

No thanks...

You can get around it by editing the url. Replace the part that says "shorts/" with "watch?v="

So this:
https://www.youtube.com/shorts/trW6yJmdD_s

Becomes this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=trW6yJmdD_s

It's not worth it for a Quartering video, but it would be useful for other videos.

I've thought Richard Simmons was awesome ever since I was a kid. The dude was always positive and was willing to make fun of himself as long as it didn't involve also making fun of his fans. Too bad the younger generations won't know about him. It's legitimately sad that he's living his last years in pain and misery. He's earned his privacy.

IIRC in the original story she wanted to get an immortal soul and marrying the Prince was her ticket to it. It's only later that she falls in love with the Prince.
