I just noticed this topic and my condolences. I have a difficult time expressing in the right way sometimes but I hope you two are able to get through this. The back and forth with trying to get MAID acceptance is definitely frustrating.

Possibly the most extra final boss Xenoblade has ever had, for better or for worse. If it had more checkpoints I'd be okay with it, lol.

Wow X didn't even get a death cutscene. Coulda just walked away from her while she was wailing.

The funny part about her is that, because she's the villain of an optional quest, she doesn't show up in Origin if you didn't do that quest.

Just thought of something. Ino's questline kinda solidified why Nopon aren't part of the cycle and are told not to interfere with the war, instead acting as a neutral third party.

Looking at the affinity chart for the new Nopon characters, two of them are a confirmed couple, and they talk about their ancestry a bit in relation to Ino, which means Nopon Caravans have been raising families much like City for many generations. Giving Nopon restrictions makes sense since most of them can't fight, and their knowledge of how the real world works would potentially sabotage Moebius's plan if either of the two nations learned about it from them.

Just finished it actually (15th). That was legit the funniest part of the entire stretch of Ino's content. The thing stinks to hell and because Noah is Ino's Driver, he has to hold the stinky thing. The next part of the scene cuts to a wider angle showing the rest of the cast are standing like fifty feet away, well out of range.

And it does end on a decent note in the final battle when I'm pretty sure it's playing XC2 music. Noah and Ino start glowing (because of their Driver/Blade relationship) and most everyone's like "well that was cool" but it doesn't mean anything for gameplay. Would be interesting and would make Ino herself more viable if there was an actual "Noah and Ino can do joint Talent Art" or something like that.

Yeah I feel there's a bit missed opportunity with Ino overall. Inoswap not benefitting the class when others use it (to my knowledge), no special benefit for having Noah be the class with Ino as the Hero as the quests suggest...eh. Could've been more interesting I think.

Yeah, they just kinda dumped them all in one spot, really. Feels like Chapter 6 had to be cut down. And it probably was considering the artbook showed concept art of a much bigger Captocorn Peak.

So I suppose I could say my little theory for the ending.

There are some things that Tsumugi says that kinda don't add up. She says that the characters were excited to be in "Danganronpa" in the intro segment but if you play it that's obviously not the case. Instead, a common thing that the characters seem to last remember is suddenly getting kidnapped. Doesn't seem like willing participants.

Considering Tsumugi's talent, she absolutely could've faked those audition videos. So if she was lying about that, could she have been lying about the whole thing? Not necessarily.

I believe that Danganronpa 1 through 2 and the ending of the 3 anime actually did happen in the real world, as the V3 characters speculate if the real world is much like their fake world. What happened in my theory is that the Tragedy subsided, but people's desire to see others suffer lingered, and so Team Danganronpa was created in-universe to make multimedia based off of their real-life events, eventually expanding past the 3 anime because people's appetites couldn't be satiated and made too much money.

Another inconsistency is that Tsumugi says she can't cosplay as the V3 characters since they're not "fictional", but then tells them that they're fictional anyway. So she might just be lying about that.

In a way, the game's theme of discerning the truth amidst lies even applies to the ending for fans to interpret, which is absolutely brilliant.

Same. At first I didn't know what to think about it, but I gave myself some time to think about it and I really love the ending. I do have my theory on what happened in case they decide to continue with the series, but I'd be perfectly happy if they didn't, that's how well executed the ending was for me. Probably my most favorite of the series.

And yeah the twist that V was actually a Roman numeral had my mind blown. What a clever twist.

The game absolutely clowning on the "masked and mysterious badass" trope with him is pretty funny, honestly.

Might be good to wait. There's still several hours left. The final trial is LONG.

Yeah, time limits I'm sorta okay with if they're racing to a specific point or are action sequences, but investigation is supposed to be a slower, methodical pace so you don't miss anything. Ah well. The rest of the Chapter is fantastic I think.

Yeah, I don't like it either, especially since if it runs out, it just respawns you back at the last checkpoint (it still frequently saves checkpoints at this point of the game) with the time limit set back at halfway.

Basically everybody gets a "time over" at this point because they don't know what to be looking for immediately, and it only serves to waste time.

Yeah, the last Chapter is gonna be absolutely bonkers. End of Chapter 5 was powerful as well.

Oh lol I noticed the Lone Vanguard's outfit. The gray t-shirt underneath has a navel divot and is stretched over the booba, on all characters regardless of gender.

I love how everybody except for Lanz has cake with that costume on.

The Chain Attack music's pretty damn good I have to admit, but I hate how it interrupts certain boss battle themes that are supposed to convey a different emotion.

Why must they make an awesome pirate companion and then make his class gimmick not actually apply to himself? He is basically uniquely the worst hero to bring along. :X

The system automatically moves closed and banned accounts to your ignore list. It also clears any banned and closed accounts from community board lists.

Aw lame. Screw that while on the Boundary you still have the same map reveal radius. Gonna be looking at a map of curvy lines instead of the whole thing. Who the heck's got it in them to chart the entirety of the Erythian Sea?

Thankfully you just need to find all the Landmarks and Locations for the map to fill in. Ain't nobody sane got enough time to chart the entire place manually.

The side story quests got some nice lore to them but I feel they should've been mandatory as a result.

My favorite was just watching stoic and analytical Taion absolutely melt in awe.

But at least we all have learned how is babby formed.

One of the most iconic lines in the series' history made itself apparent there.

I blame the open world nature of it for the underrated status. Which sucks because I absolutely loved the sections spent in the open world. Great environmental story telling and the side quests were a real treat to stumble upon. Special mention going to the creepy ass ghost lady. Game just came out at the wrong time, when everyone was getting open world game fatigue.

Yeah, a pretty memorable part of the open world for me was stepping into a dimly lit house and having the ghost lady monster suddenly come at you from the hallway.

Also the dumb title drop joke you can miss made me laugh.

I think the one you're talking about is Metal Hellsinger? It's a fast-paced FPS game where you shoot to the rythm of metal music. It looked like a lot of fun, haven't played it yet. I think it still has a demo available?

Yeah she seems like a clear Dunban reference. Almost all her Arts are named after his.

A lot of people assume she might be Sharla's and Reyn's kid, who got trained by "uncle" Dunban.

What were the parts between movies like?
Did you think about it much during the week? Did you keep your weekly ritual secret to protect it from spoilers?

It was very much on my mind constantly throughout the week, distracted me just enough so I wouldn't be depressed about the overall situation. I told some people about it but not everybody since I was very conscious about spoilers.

As a coping mechanism for what was happening in the world, I decided to start watching the MCU, as I never have before that point aside from the Spider-Man movies. I started liking them, and decided to make it a weekly ritual to watch one movie a week. It was something I looked forward to every week up to the point I finally caught up.

I kinda miss those days. Not the pandemic obviously, but just having something to look forward to every week that I really enjoyed doing. Maybe I should start coming up with a list of movies/TV shows I never watched but wanted to and start doing that again.

That'll definitely be fun.

All of this could be so kved by having Star Trek written on the shirt somewhere; not to mention it would be better for their brand recognition since someone could easily go "I have no idea who that guy is" if they just don't know Star trek

Hell, just having the typical Star Trek uniform badge on it somewhere would help distinguish it.

Yeah. Well. There's a lot going on in any given battle to the point where I have very little time to focus on my enemy's battle animations.

I more meant the cutscene animations, but yeah it is tough to pay close attention to the enemy.

So now that you've beaten Chapter 4, a thing that someone mentioned is that Melia's movements always looked slightly stiff and robotic as a hint that something's not right. I never caught that, but if so that's a neat detail and something the animators would've clearly had to meticulously work on.

Yeah...long-running franchises kinda need to be ever-changing in order to not keep things stale. Some people rag on the newest God of War for feeling too different, but to be quite honest...the old GoW games were getting stale as fuck by the third mainline game. They needed to change direction and IMO it was for the better.
