I loved the film. It was just Michael going on a rampage and wasn't ashamed of it. It's rare we see him (or slashers in general) get confronted and cornered by entire groups of people and even in the rare instances we do (police station in one of the older movies), you only see the aftermath. Something kind of cathartic about Halloween Kills for me because of that.

Oh that's a shame. I assumed the OG writers were back on it but Borderlands 3 was super craptastic and I'm not sure any joke landed. Very boring game.

Loved the first two.

I thought it was just okay. It felt a bit too predictable which at times turns scenes into a slog.

I liked Galadriel a lot to start with but less as it went on but found the opposite with Elrond who I'm now quite endeared to with all the excellent Durin stuff.

Arondir is by far the only elf that really personifies one, except for the short hair (which almost all but like one of the males seem to have???), he carries the same presence as the Elves from the movies.

Like I said though, it feels pretty typical and middling so far. Hopefully it picks up but House of the Dragon is the far more captivating show, to compare it with another brand new fantasy series.

If they lean into the darker side of Xavier, I honestly think he'd nail it so hard.

Xavier is kind of a dick and so far the movies have mostly ignored it. He's not straight up bad but he's done some really reprehensible things. Him and Magneto aren't all that different, X just isn't openly violent and ultimately wants co-existence. But he does try get there in some dubious ways.

Bad musical episodes are bad.

I have seen some truly horrible ones. But there are some really good ones out there too.

Buffy's is one of the best episodes of anything ever made. Once Upon a Time's has a bunch of catchy songs and is very entertaining/re-watchable if you're already a fan of the show. Scrubs also had a fun one, though it was more on the side of okay than great. Then of course the entirety of Crazy Ex-Girlfriend which was fantastic. Community had some clever, catchy and funny songs too.

There are a lot of stinkers though, I find often the music and lyrics just aren't good enough and in some cases apparently created by someone with zero talent for it.

I don't mind other Snakes being voiced by other people considering the precedent was set in the first game with Liquid.

Hayter should always at least be Solid though and I'm happy for him to do others if they give a little in-universe reason for it.

Most of them don't. I'd love the new Star Wars shows in true 4k but nope.

The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance not having a 4k physical release is a travesty. One of the most beautiful shows ever that at this rate will only ever be viewable in highly compressed format.

I definitely see the difference between 1080p and 4k but from what I've read on the subject, the higher the resolution becomes, the closer to the screen you need to be to get the full effect so there will be diminishing returns and I'm assuming eventually it will hit a peak?

I didn't like it, kinda felt like you were magnetically bonded to the track and the AI racers had such severe rubber-banding it felt more like a time trial than actual race because they were always there to overtake the moment you slowed down for any reason.

For a different suggestion, I loved Chocobo GP. It isn't as polished as Mario Kart 8 but I personally find it more fun.

Also like what someone else said, one of the best things about the show are the character interactions tbh, not just the story.
Exactly this, which makes it a toughie. The plot never really hits the highs of the first five seasons ever again but there are so many hilarious or memorable moments from the main cast that I am definitely glad I kept up with the show, even if sometimes it was a slog.

Thankfully the last two or three seasons had a nice uptick in quality and were very watchable.

I'm a huge fan of the show, loved it.

But the tie-ins were only ever one way. The show acknowledged the movies, but the movies never acknowledged the show. The closest it got was that example you gave but all Fury said was 'Friends' making it pretty meaningless.

So has something changed? I'd love for the cast to show up in the films.

The show is a critique on organized religion so of course it gets preachy. The only person Father Pruitt was trying to convince was himself.
My issue was with how they were written, not the concept.

Tarantino can have characters wax philosophical for as long as he wants and generally it's captivating and engaging if not poignant the whole time.

I couldn't make it through the first playthrough.

I loved the first game (still best gameplay/loot IMO). And the second was fun and very funny the whole way through.

3 just felt rote and the writing took a huge hit, there was zero real wit to any of the humour and instead just characters yelling about goofy things in goofy voices with no rhyme or reason. Eventually just drifted away from it.

So all that said, I'm incredibly curious as to what happened/is happening to this game exactly to make the development stretch so long.
As someone who actually had a Wii U, I'm getting increasingly paranoid that they're stretching the release for the launch of either some kind of Switch Pro or next gen console.

People forget the Switch is actually yet to have an exclusive mainline Zelda game yet. BotW is very much a Wii U title.

Didn't he only direct like 2-3 episodes over the course of several seasons? Far as I know he wasn't doing any writing or showrunning so it's a bit strange to be throwing him under the bus for it.

Also it's not like the rest of the Arrowverse was stellar in comparison. They all fall off a cliff after season 2-ish. Except Legends which actually got better.

The story is wonky all throughout, especially with so much forced and abrupt dialogue (I'm guessing on account of trying not to give too much away too early), but they really stuck the landing IMO.

Fun game.

Don't use a streaming service for a start... Heavily compressed 4k isn't gonna showcase it to the full extent.

Ideally you'd want a UHD Blu-Ray. The Greatest Showman is apparently fantastic for showing off 4k/HDR so that'd be a good bet if you have any interest in the movie.

Ratchet and Clank is a good one as far as games go. It's 4k and HDR and one of the most graphically impressive releases this gen so far.

I haven't touched the game since launch but I still regularly reminisce about the music as well as the main character's voice work.

There was a cool game in there but I do think the combat was often times way difficult not to mention janky (maybe I should have just lowered the difficulty?).

The story kept me invested and I'd love a sequel with some QoL features and combat being made a bit more responsive.

I think this is more a result of looking back through a modern gaming lens. I very much recall my first years playing through OoT and despite having a strategy guide detailing quite literally everything there is to do in the game, I would still ride around Hyrule Field looking for secrets because it felt so expansive.

And honestly in some respects that kind of open-world is maybe even slightly more realistic as opposed to BotW that wouldn't allow an empty space, you'd always find something there even if it was just another Kokori thing. Little immersion breaking in some regards and impacts the overall atmosphere. Compare to something like Shadow of the Colossus; if I couldn't go anywhere without tripping over a collectible in that game it would have really hurt the overall ambience.

The weirdest part about the looting mechanic for me, is that not only do you need to hold Triangle to loot machines/chests, but you then have to press Triangle a second time to take all the loot. This made sense in the first game with the annoying limited inventory... but now the stash exists, why not just nix the second part of looting entirely and just have her grab everything that's available automatically?

Aloy also really needs to stop talking about the stash, there's a text notification anyway and zero in-game reason for how the stash even works so the less character-drawn attention to it, the better. Strange design choice.

I'm with you... I miss the Toho Godzilla films a lot. Legendary have done a pretty good job with their fist two movies, but Big Bear Godzilla has always looked really off to me.

I watched the first of the animated Trilogy and never went back to it. Was excited for Singular Point until I heard it was more a lecture than a story, and some of those redesigns are just not for me... Anguirus and Rodan especially.

I'd really like something more classic. I'd kill for some suit-mation again but I accept it's probably never coming back so I'll settle for just the designs looking more accurate to the old ones.

DS9 is arguably the best of the lot depending how much you enjoy serialization.

VOY is basically a spiritual successor to TNG but without as tight a grasp on the quality control.

ENT I actually think is pretty solid, first two seasons more episodic like TNG and the final two more serialized like DS9 though not consistently as good as either show.

All worth watching in my experience regardless of the varying writing quality of VOY and ENT. Special shout out to The Orville as well like someone else said, it's the closest thing to a modern Star Trek since ENT and it's fantastic. I don't hate the modern Treks (Discovery/Picard) but they're doing their own thing and are often bleak and miserable and melodramatic so feel quite disconnected from what came before despite all the continuity (for better or worse).
