We did turn our clocks back just a few weeks ago, so that would probably be why.

Anyway, Chaotic Gore is awesome. Started off not very impressive, but I was struggling a lot later in the fight. Probably gave me the toughest fight of any of the TU monsters so far, though I did avoid carting at least.

New melding tier lets you choose skills again. Good ones too. So that's nice.

I think with the new title update I'll finally return to using Dual Blades and Lance. Since Title Update 1 dropped I've been exclusively using Switchaxe. I've got some pretty solid Switchaxe sets thanks to Flaming Espinas armor and I think I've gotten as good at the weapon as I can possibly get. I was just too lazy to update sets for the other weapons.

I've stopped using multiple weapons at this point and have just been dedicating my time solely to Switchaxe. It's a bit too much of a hassle at this point to really keep up with making sets for other weapons. There's too much stuff to grind for. And now with Qurio Crafting you potentially even need to make multiple pieces of the same armor.

Halo 4 was primarily criticized on the multiplayer side. The campaign was mostly well-received. I was disappointed by the campaign, but I've come to like it a little bit more on subsequent playthroughs.

Halo 4 also has the Spartan Ops mode if you're ever interested. It's mostly a set of generic missions set after Halo 4, but it does have a story. It was supposed to bridge the gap between Halo 4 and 5. It was also probably intended more as a co-op mode than anything, but you can play solo. I personally enjoyed it more than Halo 4's main campaign. But like I said, the missions are mostly rather generic in terms of gameplay and objectives. So may not be the best choice if you want a break from the Halo gameplay.

Halo 4 is the easiest game in the series I'd say. But fighting the Prometheans is a definite slog. Crawlers and Watchers are both extremely annoying. Knights are just a brick wall. Halo 5 made the Knights drastically more fun to fight, but they also completely neutered both the Crawlers and Watchers. It was nice that they made them less annoying to deal with but they also kind of lost their identities. Overall though, Prometheans definitely improved in Halo 5.

Ah

They were trying to destroy a Covenant supercarrier with the bomb and the corvette (the ship you board) was their means of ferrying the bomb over to the carrier. But it was botched so that Jorge had to manually detonate it.

The supercarrier is destroyed but obviously right after a massive Covenant fleet arrives. It almost makes it feel like Jorge's sacrifice was futile. They destroy a single ship that's a massive threat only for it to be replaced by the largest Covenant fleet they'd ever seen.

You getting that from datamined info or the hunter's journal? The latter is horribly incomplete and never includes different states of Monsters, like Valstrax becoming immune to elements or Teostra's Ice/Water hitzones switching when he's in blast state. Regular Mizutsune's head for example goes from 10 to 20 as a Thunder hitzone.

Violet Mizutsune's pretty fun, but he went down faster than Flaming Espinas and Risen Chameleos for me. Although for Risen Chameleos I didn't go in with a fire weapon because I was assuming the elemental hzv might have changed for it.
Yeah the Hunter's Notes, but that's a good point.

I think Violet Mizu has overtaken Magnamalo and Scorned as the most cracked out monster in this game. Dude is insane. However, also not as difficult as the Magna family in my opinion.

Went in with a Water SA and it turns out Water is mediocre against it. Thunder and Ice are the way to go, but only on the claws and legs for some reason. Head, Neck, and Torso are all pretty bad elemental hitzones. Very weird.

There was a time when LoZ was my number-one franchise, and unlike Final Fantasy, it's never really fallen very far from that height. But I just barely muddled through a 2nd playthrough of Twilight Princess, and even though I bought Skyward Sword, I've still never bothered to play it. To say that I was burnt out on the (massive air quotes) "traditional" Zelda formula would be an understatement.
You should give one of the randomizers a try. I've found that for Ocarina of Time in particular it significantly enhances the game. I don't think I could ever play it normally again. The freedom it provides makes it so much easier to appreciate the world of OoT and thus the game overall. You don't even have to randomize anything. A lot of the QoL changes they provide are worth it on their own.

Yes.

Early on it can be a bit tough since you don't have much health and can get 1 shot pretty easily (IIRC), but as mentioned that goes away pretty quickly once you start getting better equipment, armor upgrades, health/stamina upgrades, and figure out the cooking system. And once you get the dodge + parry timings down (which isn't hard to do), even stuff like Lynels become easy to take down.

Maybe the hard mode makes it challenging (I've only done 1 playthrough when it 1st came out and never went back), but even then I'd imagine it wouldn't be that challenging due to how busted food + flurry rush is.
Master Mode doesn't add much challenge but you do have to learn how to work around enemy healing. If you stop dealing damage for just a few seconds they start healing pretty rapidly, so you need to be constantly damaging enemies to beat them optimally. There is one encounter in particular where the healing turns a battle that is very easy in Normal mode into a nightmarish slog of a fight. That was the only major increase in difficulty in the jump to Master Mode in my opinion.

It's the toughest 3D Zelda, but overall not too difficult. I mean it definitely is a lot easier to die compared to other 3D Zeldas simply because enemies deal significantly more damage. I don't think frequency of deaths always translates to higher difficulty though. You can die easily just by trying to do something stupid.

All I want are dungeons dungeons dungeons

I wanna be balls deep in some ancient fucking ruins with esoteric puzzles and ghosts/lizards/whatever kicking my ass and shooting fireballs and shit. That feeling when you enter a room and the door closes behind you, then the sliding bars pop up and it's like "oh shit something's going to happen in here"

BotW hit a lot of good notes but very few times did I ever feel like I was really in the thick of it.
All the pieces for a really great dungeon were already in the game. The Divine Beasts and Shrines all had the puzzle aspect nailed down pretty well, but they were lacking in the other areas that make up a typical Zelda dungeon. Hyrule Castle had a lot of enemies to fight and allowed total freedom. It perfectly represented what BOTW was trying to be in my opinion. But it also isn't a traditional dungeon.

Ideally there's a mixture of everything. Keep shrines but maybe reduce the number of them. Make a couple dungeons that have the openness of Hyrule Castle. And then throw in some more focused, linear dungeons that you'd expect of a typical Zelda game. Everyone wins.

Considering you can go anywhere at any time, I don't really agree. Yes the Plateau is always going to be the first thing you do. But after that, you can basically do anything in any order. I know for me the mid to late game was spent in the Gerudo and Zora part of the story. Those sections completely blew away most of the stuff I had done prior.
