I'd say they're worse because the KKK is mostly harmless to the general public, outside of their extremely toxic ideology.

Police are an active threat to their community because a hyped up cop can fear for their life and shoot anyone dead because of that fear.

If you knew someone that was afraid of literally everyone and was willing to murder any and everyone dead that dared look at them wrong, you'd call them a paranoid schizo who is a dangerous threat to society, that should never be allowed to roam the streets in any capacity ever again. For whatever fucking reason, society has deemed that those individuals should be armed at all times and given free reign to fuck with the public, regardless of if there is an actual legally justifiable reason.

The difference is every KKK member is like that, while there are also good cops that try their best to help people and make a difference in a positive way. I don't think there are many kind KKK members that join the KKK to actually help offset the racist KKK members. Therefore, it's ok to label the entire KKK IMO, but not the police

The cops are defined on beliefs that are abhorrent. They are literally taught, from day one, that everybody is a threat and that they're not there to protect or serve us.

I do definitely agree there. You can certainly judge the KKK because they are a group defined on beliefs that are abhorrent. Theres no good reason to join the KKK.

Obesity is also not always under control. A lot of people actually do have a medical condition that "makes them fat" it's just that the medical condition is probably depression and people don't like talking about it or admitting that their mental issues are making them have unhealthy habits.

I guess I see what you're saying, and respect the prior warning to not compare to other groups, but I still don't see how demeaning, slurring, and stereotyping a group of people for the actions of the worst members is not hypocritical with preaching tolerance empathy etc.

We're all people. If you strongly believe against stereotypes and of judging groups as a whole, it seems like that should extend to everybody, not just societally persecuted groups. It's those types of attitudes that leads to persecution in the first place, so how is it not hypocritical to aim it at others even if those groups are not persecuted ones?

It's a shame we don't have any. A cop that does things like the one in OP's article is a bad cop. A cop who covers for another cop who does those things is a bad cop. A cop that knows these things happen and does nothing to stop them or change the situation is a bad cop. A cop that actually speaks out about those things and tries to stop them is no longer a cop anymore because they get fired for going against the system.

Find me a cop who actually spoke out about police brutality and accountability, got to keep their job, and actually brought about meaningful change in their department. Then and only then I'll call them a good cop.

The flaw in your argument though. If its true that speaking out will get you fired, and acknowledging that a society where only bad and murderous cops remain is absolutely HORRIBLE for the people, is not the best choice to just try to do what good you can day by day, help people, provide positive and helpful interactions with people so they don't meet a bad and murderous cop? Don't we need those people? If you acknowledge a good cop can't change things without getting fired, would we not be better off if more good people became cops and tried to do good to offset the bad?

Yeah, I get it, it's easy to fall back on that when people are angry. But again if I posted a video of a terrorist attack it wouldn't be right for the entire thread to be people slurring and demeaning muslims. The topic of discussion isn't an excuse at all to let that type of behavior slide, and again, most people would realize that in another situation. They're all acting like the exact racist republicans they hate

It just sucks to see acceptable targets of societal hatred and bullying, for people that literally risk their lives to try to help and protect the same people demeaning them. If this was about a race, or even a religion, this would not be tolerated, yet because it's cops, suddenly it's the cool things to do to throw out hate and slurs.

I can just imagine how these same people would feel if suddenly all the police decided to listen to what people want and all just quit. Then I think we'd see real quick how much people enjoy having a cop-less society.

That's true, but it can be a noble choice too, and we shouldn't demean people for making that choice. Because if we do, then we'd have no cops, and only the most extreme of us actually want to live in a society with no police, where anybody can do whatever they want. The bad cops deserve to be punished like the worst of criminals. But good cops are needed by society. So demeaning the entire profession is really scummy.

No, it's not. You can't call demeaning names to a whole group because of the bad actions of some within it. That's called a slur. Just because THESE cops did awful things doesn't mean that gives you free reign to demean and insult all cops.

If you feel justified pointing to these cops and using it as an excuse to use slurs, maybe think about how you'd feel if people used this as an excuse with racism. It's not cool and shouldn't be allowed or welcomed.

These cops suck but it's uncomfortable seeing this used as an excuse to go at all cops, just like it'd be the same if people posted videos of other races committing crime and used it as an excuse to get angry at the entire race

Slurs are still not ok. If you read a story about a black person doing a crime that doesn't mean you can start throwing around the N word. Anybody calling people pigs should be modded but this is a horrible tragedy and the officers involved should be punished

Like is it REALLY a good thing that people feel they can only identify with a character if they look the same as them? And then encourage that type of thinking as a great and positive thing? Black people shouldn't feel they can only identify with black people or white people with white people. i feel like we really need to make race less important

This is the real answer. Its not any one site though, or social media in general. Its who's using the internet now (Ie, everybody). Its sad, because it used to be a great and fun place. It could be harsh and negative but there was also more community

El Camino was a pretty good watch but I don't know that it's as good as that.

I liked the Breaking Bad finale. It wasn't as phenomenal as the highs of the S3 and S4 finale, and Ozymandias was the peak of the season, but while it wasn't the best ending ever, it was still a good one. Definitely not a disappointment. I liked the scene where Walt admits he was doing it for himself - that was necessary honestly.

With Smash I honestly have no idea how you top Ultimate which is incredible, but Smash has been out four years to MK's eight years (seriously imagine if you were a kid when it came out you'd never have another MK in your entire childhood) and I think Smash Ultimate is more perfect than MK8 is, it doesn't seem that hard to make a MK9.

Its cool and all but I wish they made 9 instead. 8 has been out for whatat least 8 years now? I just dont really feel like playing it anymore

I don't like how many people in this topic seem to think the facts should be avoided because of possible stigmatization. Stigmatization is bad but that doesn't mean we should get partial news, we need to know all the facts for things as important as this. It isn't up to the news to try to control how people react, they should report the facts as they are, and it's on people to react how they will. Misleading people to control them does not appeal.

This is so strange to me. There are more white people than any other race in America. Why wouldn't they have more white people than any other race in the movies? Of course they are more white than other races, it's a movie made in America where that's what more people look like than any other race. A chinese movie is probably mostly Chinese.
