I kind of miss game overs taking you back to the title screen and limited save options. Now there's too many checkpoints and death isn't a punishment more than an inconvieance. Now when gamers get stuck at a point they just ram their head into the wall brute force rather than focus on their mistakes, because the stakes are low.

The problem with the old system is losing progress due to external factors like power outages, or a brain fart because you forgot to save the game after 4 hours of progress.

Going in blind. All I know is the apparently the change in protaganists but that's it.

But considering the nature of the game, you have to play it Day 1 or get spoiled out the ass by jerks.

Amazon switched to "Supercycle" shifts, where employees work 4 10 hour days a week. You might think one extra day off sounds nice, but do this for 3+ years and you will burn out. 10 hour shifts turn into 14-16 hour shifts during peak time and suddenly you feel like you spend half your life at a job that pays peanuts.

If you ever think about working those shifts, don't. Each day you work is a physical and mental grind and the days you have off you spend most of the time dreading the time it's time to go back to work. I've had two good friends commit suicide over working 40+ hours a week at these manual labor warehouse jobs. One of them worked at Amazon and he used to be fun to hang out with and game with but his job tore at his soul and couldn't take it anymore. Fuck Amazon and I haven't order and will never order from them again.

Six players online? I hope the game's difficulty takes that into account. Arcade games do up the amount of enemies you fight the more players are in the game but six seems excessive.

This is one of those games where Normal mode is too Easy and Hard mode is too Hard.

The one thing that makes the game's difficulty kind of moot is that you are allowed deaths aside from mission critical objectives. Revivial is extremely limited but sometimes you can sacrifice strategy by using one character as bait to break a chokepoint. There is an in-game achievement for not letting a single character die, so there is incentive for a no deathless run.

On Hard mode, only your tanks can take more than 2 hits. Since a lot of stages don't have mission timers, it encourages a lot of turtling. If you like battles becoming a literal grindfest, then this game is great but there's not much room for experimentation.

I've never supported kickstarter for major media like video games. Why would a developer have any incentive to produce a quality game when it's already paid for?
For every Shovel Knight and Undertale there's like 50 kickstarter horror stories. Even other sucessful games like Bloodstained was stuck in limbo for years so they can milk more and more kickstarter bonus goals.

Kickstarter is for smaller projects by actual one man teams who want help to finish a passion project. Board games are a good example, as well as one piece music hits.

My first Final Fantasy game was Mystic Quest.

Still an awesome (albeit easy) game.
This is not suprising if you grew up with it in the 90s. It came at a much cheaper price point and was heavily advertised as babby's first role playing game. It hit bargin bin prices pretty quickly too. Final Fantasy 4(2) and Final Fantasy 6(3) remained expensive games.

Final Fantasy summons fighting in large scale Kaiju battles seems rad but it's gonna reek of rock/paper/scissors QTEs I just know it.

The first Ar Tonelico is fine. Misha best girl, but the protag is a dunce and overall just not as high quality as the second game.

The third game downgrades just about everything. The graphics, the music, the gameplay especially the gameplay. It's a low quality action RPG. The main gimmick of the series, the cosmosphere, focuses on fetishes than fleshing out the heroines.

Ciel no Surge and Ar Nosurge are sort of similar to Ar Tonelico. Ciel is a girl raising sim/visual novel while Ar Nosurge is more of a standard JRPG.

Mana Khemia and Ar Tonelico 2 are the best Gust games. Shame about the absolute game breaking bug in Ar Tonelico 2 that requires a fan-made patch that renders official disc play impossible.

Ciel no Surge is great but it's only in Japanese and didn't get localized because "Visual Novels don't sell!" mentality at the time.

They hit Bird Tribrigade more than Zoodiac Tribrigade, which was a more oppressive deck.

Did a single UR card get hit? I think Konami wanted to avoid the refund of crafting points for UR at the same time hitting decks that mostly consist of URs like Drytron.

I hope the next movie follows Sonic lore by introducing all the characters no one likes and ends up being a complete mess of the movie in terms of direct and story. A good sign for them to stop, something that Sonic Team could learn.

How in the hell would a movie interpret Rouge the Bat? I know the Sonic movies are for kids but you gotta include a segment where Shadow wields a gun. Doesn't have to fire it.

I did a multiworld Ocarina of Time randomizer but let me tell you, they can take 7-10 hours and most people aren't willing to save progress and finish it at a later time.

Most of the time you are waiting on one player to find that one progression item that unlocks progression for everyone else, and it's always in a dumb location.
