I don't like beer. I can drink and appreciate it and all the different styles, but I never want to have a beer unprompted. Alcohol free removes the single reason I'd consume it.

Sorry, should have qualified: chicken burgers and wraps, turkey melts and wraps, egg melts, etc. imo it should have stayed a coffee and baked goods joint, even though I do see lots of people buying meals there. I don't get it.

I've logged over 250 bands on my setlist history, so a brief highlight:

Desert Trip festival (only 6 acts over the three days - Bob Dylan, The Rolling Stones, Neil Young, Paul McCartney, The Who, Roger Waters, all with a giant 200'x40' wall of screens behind them, standing a couple people back from the rail for all days)
Gorillaz (twice in 5 days in 2017, on front rail both times, Damon Albarn held my hand singing part of El Manana)
Osheaga 2016 (RHCP, Busty and the Bass, Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats, Radiohead)
Qubec City's FEQ 2017 (Kendrick Lamar, The Zombies, Melissa Etheridge, Muse, Metallica, The Who)
Boston Calling 2018 (front row for The Killers, St. Vincent, Jack White - got his guitar pick - plus saw Eminem, Mike D, The Decemberists)
Jack White a second time in 2018 (early entry at a relatively small arena, all phones were put in a magnetic zip bag so you could use it during show, was amazing)
Roger Waters (The Wall in 2010 and This is Not a Drill this past July)
Muse (Drones 2016 tour)
The Smashing Pumpkins (Shiny Reunion 2019 tour)
Elton John (Goodbye Yellow Brick Road 2019 farewell tour)
Paul Simon (Homeward Bound 2018 farewell tour, fifth row, got a drumstick)
Ottawa Bluesfest 2022 (front rail for Sarha McLachlan, Jack Johnson, Alanis Morissette, Femi Kuti, Rage Against the Machine - got bruises all over - plus Alexisonfire, Marshmello, Luke Combs, etc etc)
Willie Nelson
Eric Clapton
Metric (3x)
Sam Roberts Band (7x)
Queens of the Stone Age (2x)
The Police (2008 final reunion tour, fifth last show ever)
Sting (last week)
ZZ Top (got Frank Beard's drumstick)
Alice Cooper
Blue Man Group
Incubus
Snoop Dogg
System of a Down
Rush
James Taylor (2x, got Steve Gadd's autograph at the first)

Fantastic game! I typically do a 6-8 hour 200.6% run of Sign every October, and this really is a spiritual successor to SotN, right down to casting Richard Belgrave (Alucard) as the vampire librarian (that you can repeatedly hit from underneath to get 2 items). Get all the achievements last Christmas/new year, and might do a fresh run after SotN.

Level up your shards, and hope you enjoy!

Okay now that's an obscure one, from the "Saucerful" era when Wright almost took over the band.
I bought the Early Years boxset in 2016 but am only finally really tearing through it now. Super glad to have all this archival stuff, including 5 replica 7" singles like Apples and Oranges b/w Paintbox. Really dig it all and it's highlighting some of the tracks I'd likely never encounter otherwise like this.

Pink Floyd - Paintbox
https://youtu.be/0vO96jJHOuU

A B-side for their Apples and Oranges single in 1967 and written by Rick Wright, this has much more of their early psychedelic pop sound when compared to the prog rock/space sounds they would soon create.

Though Syd played lead guitars and backing vocals for this, he was mostly out of the band by this point and the video is the first time David Gilmour is shown as their guitarist.

I collect vinyl, so I'm a big fan of listening to an entire album. Last one was a week ago though, we both listened to Pink Floyd's Meddle while walking the dog. Going to see Nick Mason's Saucerful of Secrets next month, so we'll be doing the Piper/Saucerful/Atom/Meddle/Obscured run on vinyl a couple times.

About to spin the 20th anniversary repressing of dredg's first album, Leitmotif. Only ever had mp3s that I downloaded a couple years after release, so I'm stoked to give it a proper listen.

Don't bother with the Bluetooth since that converts to digital and then you're just spending money and time flipping the wax to do the same thing as using your phone's Bluetooth.

Welcome to an expensive hobby! Buy inner sleeves for all vinyl you care about - paper sleecs are garbage and can add surface scratches - and outer sleeves for all jackets you care about.

Create a Discogs account and log your collection there. Be sure to pay attention to exactly which pressing when logging - you might have to check the etching in the dead wax next to the label. That will give you an idea what each album is worth if you want to sell, and Discogs is the best place to buy used.

Also, that looks like Bandcamp? Big fan.

Been together 15 years and engaged for half, almost 40. Probably will get married sometime soon but no kids. As to what will we do? Whatever the fuck we want. We usually travel 1-2 times a year for 2-3 weeks. Locally we see plays, do escape rooms, go to concerts, play board games with friends, walks with the dog, watch meteor showers, hike, sleep in, tv/movie marathons, video games, etc.

Kids would likely significantly increase my existential dread, as all the stuff I enjoy would be mostly gone for 18+ years. Plus the idea of dealing with other kids and their parents is straight anxiety; a child's birthday party is a nightmare.

Showrunners thought Martin would have more for them to pull from but only gave them notes/ideas, compared to the first bunch of seasons where they just adapted novels.

Also, a LOT of people are really bad at noticing a certain character's actions for the past five seasons and didn't realize they were clearly telegraphing what would come.

Plus some plot stuff that was legit not great.

imo people waaaay overreacted to something they should have seen coming.

Not sure what I'd want to experience that I couldn't experience at "home", not to mention the vast amount of financial stress that would come with simply buying plane tickets, let alone staying somewhere else long enough to enjoy it.
The cost is often high and prohibitive, sure. But if you can afford it, it's worth it. Anything you like at home, you can find a different version elsewhere. I personally love eating food I've never tried before, walking museums, sitting in parks, doing a haunted hike, etc.

The crux for me is that the world is a big place and it seems like a waste to not experience as much as I can. You never know when you'll fall in love with something unless you try it.
