After eating light and taking some supplements, I'm feeling somewhat better. Not entirely out of the woods yet. I just wish the weather would get nice again. It's pretty much the only thing that brings me joy anymore. Right now, we're in the boring early spring where the temperature is in the 50s. It'll get in the high 60s/low 70s in a few days for a bit, though in Ohio, good weather isn't guaranteed to stay until may.

Also, I'm just... really missing the good old days. Not just pre-covid, but when the community was active, FiM was in its prime, my grandma was alive, the male cat was alive, and the female cat was more energetic and had all her fur. This little brain condition I have doesn't help, since nostalgia hits harder for me.

Slept like shit last night. I think it's because I've been spending hours sitting in our metal dining room chairs that have metal arms. They're irritating my ribs that were already upset from that gaming chair I previously mentioned. Gave me anxiety spikes and an overall bad feeling when trying to sleep. I should probably not use the vibrating massage pad on them anymore, and of course, avoid the dining room chairs.

Our old dining room chairs were perfectly fine. They were made of wood and had a cushion built in. We only got rid of them because our late cat scratched them up.

He does top 10 lists of strange discoveries in games, and they're actually genuinely strange things from fairly obscure games (mostly). Those two factors combine to make for fascinating watches. He puts time into the videos, so there's a bit of a wait between them, but they're worth waiting for.

I'm watching a playlist of fan-made Tomb Raider II levels, and they reminded me of something that bugged me about it. There's these levels where you're exploring a shipwreck while wearing a wetsuit, but you're barefoot. So Lara is running around these rough cave floors and a rusty-ass shipwreck with broken glass on the floor with absolutely no foot protection. Functionality, it's just a reskin, but it still annoys me.

Same annoyance I had with Man of Medan. A bunch of characters on a rusty ship while barefoot. While they were forced on at gunpoint to help look for something, they still should have asked to get some shoes on, since that would make things easier for both parties.

Been playing this game called Tinykin after Nitrorad gave it a good review. It's like Pikmin, where you lead a squad of small creatures around, they come in different colors to signify different abilities, and there are large objects that you'll need a certain amount of lifters to carry around.

It takes place in a human house, except you're shrunk down to the size of an insect and you have these other talking insects around that have built a whole society within. The central goal is to gather pieces of some contraption they've been curious about, except this thing is just made out of household junk that doesn't even have any electronic components in it, so who knows what they intend to do with it.

It also raises the question of where the other humans are and why we're shrunk down. We come from what I think was some kind of space station, so we should be normal sized. It's a nice take on the whole thing of "alien culture confused at what these ordinary human things do".

Only real issue is that there doesn't seem to be anything to help you track down missing items. If you accomplish all the tasks and are still missing some things, tough luck, get to scrounging. Still, I recommend it.

Also, I just looked through the new Switch releases just now and found something called Sakura Neko Calculator. It's just a calculator with a barely-animated scantily-clad catgirl on it. No idea why anyone would buy that. Not only are there untold millions of catgirls online for free, but it's rated T, so she'll never bust out the goods. Plus, if you're doing math that complicated, she's only gonna distract you.

The final boss theme for Pizza Tower is fucking awesome. The second part uses samples of a 1920s song called "When You Get What You Want, You Don't Want It Anymore" since the boss is an immature psycho. Hope it comes to consoles some day.

Wow, there's going to be a sequel to Good Burger, complete with Kenan and Kel in it. That's definitely one of the most unexpected sequels I've ever heard of. From what I remember, the original GB was alright. Not at all bad, but not something I'd say I worthy of a sequel.

Lance voiced a character in Destiny 2 who shows up in the hub area as a mission giver, so a bunch of players have been going up to him and doing respectful emotes around him.

I was thinking of joining them, but last time I played D2, I had my old email that I had to delete because of those bitcoin extortion emails I was getting, and I definitely didn't update my Bungie account before I deleted it.

Damn, Lance Reddick just passed away. I knew him from the John Wick movies and as Sylens in the Horizon games. He was great in both. Guy was only 60 and looked like he was in good health, too. He was definitely taken too soon.

Square Enix is really doing an NFT game. They released a trailer for it recently. Surprise, everyone hates it. They disabled the dislike button on the trailer, because that's a sign of absolute confidence in your product. It's got decent music, which is a bad thing in this case since that means people with actual talent are being wasted on it.

The game is called Symbiogenesis, which initially got people excited because they thought it was related to an old PS1 hit of theirs, Parasite Eve. But nope, it's the complete opposite of what anyone, PE fan or not, would want.

It's going to have 10,000 characters with unique appearances, but they're basically just 2D male and female human templates with randomly generated hair and clothes. Some characters wear hats and clearly have their original hair sticking out from under it. Like, imagine if you took a picture of Sora from Kingdom Hearts and photoshopped a baseball hat on top of where his scalp would be without bothering to edit out the hair it would cover up.

I haven't seen a game company do something this monumentally stupid since Konami went crazy, fired Kojima, delisted PT, and cancelled Silent Hills. But while Konami was malicious and greedy, Square is being just plain stupid. I'm so glad they sold off a bunch of their IP and studios to Embracer, because nothing good would have come from keeping them.

It's been several hours and the cat is back to normal. I wish I could say I was relieved, but I'm just feeling exhausted.

She's doing it again, though her purring isn't as deep and her lurches aren't as frequent. She tried to vocalize earlier, but it sounded strained. Right now she's laying on a fluffy blanket on my lap.

Apparently my brother fed her a new brand of cat food last night, so hopefully this is just some indigestion from an unfamiliar brand.

Still, I'm worried. Things haven't gone well for me and my mental health has taken a beating. Dealing with another potential dying pet is the last thing I need.

The female cat's laying on my mom's lap, and she suddenly began putting loudly and is making these little lurches like she wants to cough something up, but nothing so far. She's never purred this loudly before.

One of our elderly neighbors brought over a plate of homemade cookies. I was having a pretty shit day, so this was absolutely welcomed. My mom thinks we should thank her by giving her one of my brother's burritos, because he makes some damn good ones.

I'm definitely gonna recommend giving The Bad Guys a watch. It's on Netflix right now. It's an animated movie about a gang of master thieves, their leader accidentally does a good deed and gets praised for it, and the happiness he gets for being respected instead of feared starts giving him conflicting thoughts on his lifestyle.

The animation style adds these little touches of style to make it stand out, and there's a number of things that get a good setup and payoff. Sadly, it has a fairly predictable twist villain you'll most likely spot instantly.

On a related note: I've also been hearing great things about another Dreamworks movie, Puss In Boots 2: The Last Wish. I haven't seen it, but I definitely will in the future, either through youtube or Netflix.

Uh... I briefly lost my Dreamlight Valley save due to data corruption after it crashed. Thankfully, it was uploaded to the cloud and automatically recovered. That was scary. Thing is, I don't know if it was from the game or my system getting old. I also got a corrupted data warning when Powerwash Simulator did an autosave once, but I was able to continue playing and the autosave worked normally.

My brother actually ran over a downed streetlight on his way home, just a block away from us. No damage to his car, thankfully. The wind during the stormy period didn't seem THAT bad. Certainly no worse than the ones we have when we're transitioning between a cold and warm period.

Well, it passed without incident. Looks like the worst it got is some localized flooding in a city a few miles away. Now we're just dealing with heavy rain. As celebration for surviving by sitting on my ass and doing nothing, here's a lewd human Ember.

Decided to get Disney Dreamlight Valley since it's an Animal Crossing/Stardew style life simulator with farm elements, and I've gotten burnt out on Stardew. It's rather good! In addition to the usual stuff you'd see in those games, there's some nice quality of life features I wish Animal Crossing had. Like, no matter where your storage chests are, using a crafting table or stove will take supplies directly from your reserve when you make something. This means you could just put a storage chest or two in each biome and put the regional forage in there.

There's also a dedicated building mode that I REALLY wish New Horizons had. All characters (including yours) are temporarily removed and you go into an overhead view to move objects and buildings around freely. With this, you can grab any berry bushes and fruit trees and move them all into one spot. If they had the ability to terraform and add/remove water, it would be perfect, but it still beats NH in terms of convenience.

While it does use the real-world clock to influence the day/night cycle, you can choose to set the cycle to whatever you want. Characters are up at almost all hours, so it's buzzing even after midnight.

Befriending characters lets you put a gathering perk on them, which means certain resource gathering actions will cause them to drop extra if they're following you. So, giving someone a fishing buff will cause them to sometimes drop an extra copy of what you just caught. Giving someone a farming buff does the same thing for harvested crops, which can majorly increase how much you get. Raising your friendship level increases how often this happens. Sometimes harvesting will cause the spot/tree/bush to glow, then you can spam harvest it to get unlimited harvests for a few seconds. Though this comes with the risk of your buddy running up into conversation range, you talking to them, and losing out on the glowing spot. They should make the harvest and conversation buttons different, like in Greedfall.

As for complaints, there's always a character that runs up to watch you fishing, and I wish there was a way to make them not do that. There's no way to remove furniture and clothing items from your personal collections. Prices can be steep in comparison to how much money you make, and you can bet your ass that Scrooge McDuck isn't gonna loan you even his filthiest penny. And while you can alter your character's body at any time, the facial hair section is bugged and won't let you scroll down to moustaches and stubble, so if you put either of those on in the initial creation, you better be sure you wanna keep it.

The game is $30, but it's going free to play later in the year. Getting the paid early version gives you some bonus cosmetics, furniture and and a decent amount of premium currency. The premium currency is only for cosmetics, though the 100th anniversary event lets you use some to unlock extra ones. Hopefully they don't turn it pay-to-win.
