I feel like life would be easier if I had no say in it. I lost a great one because of nit picking and a wandering eye. I wonder if being forced into it and feeling like there weren't any other options would have helped.

This is 20 years old, but it's telling how neatly it fits in with the way the "Covid is just a hoax" people behave when they get infected and are hospitalized

My program chair during residency was a very prominent abortion provider who spent a lot of his clinical years providing elective abortion services before entering academic medicine. These stories are almost exactly what he would describe. As they say, the only acceptable terms for abortion are "incest, rape, and myself". It's a little mind-blowing that this is frequent enough of a hypocrisy that basically every abortion provider recalls the same anecdote.

They usually volunteer it. Trust me, even though we can tell they make sure we know, at least ever since the pandemic.

This is why I'm glad all my patients are female, and most are pregnant and/or younger. My ex was a hospitalist and hearing the crap she dealt with on a weekly basis really made me thankful.

He had to decide to react or work with her, but the healthy thing isnt to blame the other guy. Its to work with your spouse. Like I said I doubt this is just about the one joke. If he'd have just ignored it like an adult, nobody would have noticed, but all he ended up doing was making a fool of himself and pulling his wife's problem into the limelight, which I'm sure she doesn't appreciate.

I feel you. We'll never know if he felt compelled to confront Chris Rock because of his wife's reaction, or if that composed laughter was a knee-jerk response that turned into how he really felt with or without his wife present.

While what she said is tone def and dumb, people responding to her arent being fair at all. Yes she started with money and got famous off a sex tape, but most people have their 15 minutes from that and fall back into obscurity (see, Paris Hilton). Kim turned it into a multi billion dollar enterprise for her and her entire family. They run and operate several businesses successfully. Shes not entirely wrong here. While you have a fair counterpoint, I don't feel like it compensates enough for the initial point that she had an advantage that only a fraction of a fraction of people get. She most likely would not have anything close to what she currently does without that head start, even if she maintained her current work ethic in a less lucky situation. It's tone deaf and worthy of criticism, IMO.

Good on her for keeping the momentum going, but stop with this implication that hard work is enough to carry you to that level of success (or anything remotely close to it).

What are your actual lab values? I am assuming you're male.

You may be confusing a reference range for total cholesterol with LDL cholesterol. LDL is, from what I remember, an indirect measurement which is why total cholesterol is reported.

I was planning on using it for stuff like professional society memberships, CME credit courses, boards once my case list is sufficient enough to sit for them. Stuff like that.

This feels like a weird hill to die on. Makes me feel bad about calling in macrobid 500 PO BID and getting a callback from pharmacy confirming that I want that... explaining it was for a UTI. Totally slipped my mind that it should have been 100 mg because I was preoccupied with something else, twice. Hopefully they don't think I'm a moron, literally just was busy with other stuff and appreciated the call.

Definitely at a low point in my life, but I'm trying to put in the necessary effort to turn it around.

I'm seriously considering doing this, especially since I only order 2-3 things from Amazon every 6 months. I'm about to move and I sense I'm going to be using it way more for the next few months. I'll cancel it after I settle in. I was a little surprised to see this increase, though.
