Like what Im seeing. Still only doing smaller stuff for now. The writing takes up more time, and Ive been tired recently. Theres something else Id kinda like to try again, but maybe the timing is bad for it.

Havent done any art worth posting in the thread, but Ive done a little bit of stuff. Writing and other stuff has been taking most of my time. But itd be best if I could get at least a little bit of drawing done. Even if its simply the basics. (Or probably, especially the basics would help).

Thanks Hambo for managing to finish. I still believe some others can finish. But again, any drawings are welcome. I'm working more on writing for now, but if I can manage to get on a roll in that, might be able to stick with drawing as well.

Like to see the consecutive posts. Gear is something that really sparks the imagination, cause there's so many ways you could go with it.

Day 30.5: Farming

Less actual farming, and more being on a farm. And this is unfinished (obviously). The stuff I have left to do is tiring, so I want to at least show I've done it to a point. Might suck it up, or not.

Either way, I'd say I completed Inktober. Hard to say if I did better or worse than last year. I think my character art improved a bit, but it's still pretty basic and not exactly 'good'.

Last year, I wanted to do NaNoWriMo, but ended up dropping off fairly quickly. I'd like to give it another attempt. Considering I failed my first Inktober, but succeeded in my 2nd, means that maybe the same could be done for this as well. If only this would translate into consistently drawing and writing, I might be able to show actual improvement. I didn't even really build a habit, since I kept getting ahead and taking breaks. By the way, I'd still like the topic to continue past October, but I guess it all depends on interest, I'm not great at keeping things bumped.

Day 30: Gear

Not very good at more complex drawings (or simple drawings, but hey). Using too many layers and not being more considerate about it ends up causing mistakes. There are some places that aren't shaded correctly now. Mostly the places that should be a darker red, like the bottom of the feet. It was interesting enough to do, even if the end result is poor. If I was smart, I would try to do more complex pieces, more often, and I might even get better at them. Not very convinced of the chances of that, however. I might finish today, don't remember what 31 is.

Day 29: Uh-oh

This was originally gonna be a greater redraw, but I got tired. >_>. Maybe if I had started out in broader strokes, I wouldn't have gotten so tired.

Day 28: Camping

So side note, I didn't necessarily mean to get so far ahead, or to not update, but I guess I was just tired. Yesterday especially I slept a lot. Like what I've been seeing from everyone.

Day 27: Snack.

A S'more. Should have made the perspective of it slightly more top down, and probably could have done to slightly darken the edges to better imply that it's turning away from the camera, rather than being essentially flat. Could have similarly made the already shaded areas, slightly darker in the same places.

Day 25: Tempting

Once again, I kinda just messed up the face from the start. I need to be more mindful about getting things the way I want to in the first place. Otherwise, the hand outstretching stuff is very hard to make look even decent. It looks okay (imo) because the hands are cut off. If they weren't, it would look pretty bad I think. Otherwise, proportions are off, hair looks pretty bad.

Day 24: Fairy

I'm pretty sure Puck is a pixie, not a fairy. also I actually drew him out with his regular Barbie doll anatomy, but just to be safe I put pants on him.

Day 23: Booger

I didn't really want to draw a booger, so this is more like a slime. Mostly used it to try and remember some of the coloring stuff I learned.

Day 22: Heist

I could never get the guy on the far left to look decent, kind of annoying. The rest seem mostly acceptable to me (at least, they did what I wanted them to do, for the most part), though I realize now that I left out some details. Oh well.

Day 21: Bad Dog

I should mention that I wasnt that interested in doing bluff. Up until like 5 minutes before I started drawing that, I was thinking about the other type of bluff. Kinda want to redo it, I dunno.

Day 20: Bluff

Arguably the small amount of cliff you can see looks decent but the forest bit looks pretty bad. Dunno how to do zoomed o ur trees/forests that look good. Even when I do digital, theyre pretty shoddy.

Day 19: Ponytail.

Ended up skimping on some of the coloring, and I'm still not sure how to do hair.

Edit: Looking at it further, though I tried to have her looking slightly up, which I felt justified the single left line as bounds for the head, I'm not too sure that's accurate. She's meant to have a slightly more thin face, but I might have overdone it.

Day 18: Scrape

Not my best work, I finished KH1 for now (for real this time), and started up KH3 level 1, so I spent a good amount of time doing that. Had to bust this out to catch up. Ponytail, I have decent reason to try to do well, so hopefully that one is more effortful.

Day 17: Salty

Kind of a lazy one, this is what I wanted to do to my controller over the past couple of days.

I finished the KH1 level 1 stuff by doing all the super bosses. Sephiroth was tough. Time to start drawing again.

Well I drew something called a gargoyle technically, but yeah, it's about the spirit of the thing I suppose. It's called a haardvark or something. I'd forgotten the name. I pretty much copied the official art for it, but changed the skull, I guess to add something of a challenge to it.

Day 16: Fowl.

Kind of another lazy one. I really don't like these animal prompts very much, so I'm just rushing them out ahead of schedule. I decided to look for a brush that would be able to get a similar effect as feathers on a bird, I think this was pretty close.

Day 13: Kind

Not used to drawing cartoon characters, it's kind of interesting. I messed up on the mouth area, and by the time I realized, it was hard to fix without bigger redraws and recolors. I fixed it a bit, but eh.

That's the animatic I was referencing, and I tried to draw one of the frames myself.

The Kingdom Hearts Animatic inspired me to finish my level 1 run in KH1, so I've been doing that. I have an idea for 'Kind', at least. Might be late though.

I'm skipping ahead a day (I'll go back) because I wanted to go ahead and get this out. It was pretty quick to do when I'm mostly just abusing screentones.

Day 14: Empty

Proportions and hatching could have been done better or in more interesting ways, but this is basically what I wanted out of it. Originally there weren't gonna be screentones at all, but I felt it accentuated it. Might've gone overboard with it though.

Day 12: Forget

In retrospect, I should have referenced a drawing of a colored flower alongside the reference. It was simple enough that I probably could have made it look decent, but I wasn't very motivated to draw another flower.

Nice to see everyone's work. Haven't done anything today, though I'm already caught up. These next few prompts rely a bit more on imagination. Got an idea for 1/3, but that 1 is the last of the 3. I'll think of something.

Halo 4 was primarily criticized on the multiplayer side. The campaign was mostly well-received. I was disappointed by the campaign, but I've come to like it a little bit more on subsequent playthroughs.

Halo 4 also has the Spartan Ops mode if you're ever interested. It's mostly a set of generic missions set after Halo 4, but it does have a story. It was supposed to bridge the gap between Halo 4 and 5. It was also probably intended more as a co-op mode than anything, but you can play solo. I personally enjoyed it more than Halo 4's main campaign. But like I said, the missions are mostly rather generic in terms of gameplay and objectives. So may not be the best choice if you want a break from the Halo gameplay.

Yeah, I looked things up after the fact (cause I didn't want to accidentally spoil myself), and it seems it was more well received than I thought. As you said, basically the story was good, multiplayer was bad. Though some people think the story's antagonist was weak. I might agree with that, but if I had found more of the optional videos, then it might feel better.

If Spartan Ops was part of MCC, it's a bit too late now, already uninstalled it. Wondering what to play next. I could work on FFX or Elden Ring. Or Fallout 3, San Andreas, or Yakuza 0. Or maybe something shorter, I dunno. Lot of options, I've finishe more video games in this year than any other, I think.

Day 11: Eagle

This is one of those that I knew was gonna be a pain. I started off attempting an actual eagle, but I had 0 motivation. So I switched to doing an offmodel and offcolor Apollo. Could have worked harder on it, but I really didn't want to do this one. Not looking forward to 'Fowl' either.

Ive seen that last ending cutscene, and I was pretty sure there was more to the ending on Legendary, so I went and looked it up. Showed more than I remembered, even if it was just a second or two extra.

So its finally happened, I finished the entire Master Chief Collection, all on Heroic. There was an achievement for it and everything. Its hard to give any ranking, honestly. Ill say that ODST ended up getting me more invested than the others, along with 2. Gameplay wise, mostly felt similar after like, 3. Of course I know from osmosis that some people did not like some gameplay changes, but it might have been more of a multiplayer issue. 4 didnt come off particularly bad to me or anything, and I know people didnt like that one, or at one point didnt.

As for Halo 5 or Infinite, I dunno. Whether I play them or not, remains to be seen. I could imagine doing so some time, right now I definitely think I need to lay off Halo. A bit of a shame Im completely ignoring multiplayer, which is one of the draws, but I get the sense itd only sour me on the series. Perhaps one day Ill go look up all the stuff I didnt get to see, and thatll prompt me to play 5. Appreciate those who have been reading the topic. Topic has been alive for a bit over 2 months, not used to keeping topics alive that long.

Finished Midnight. Im not sure I understand how Master Chief smacked a nuke and lived, watching the final cutscenes now.

Finished Composer. Sad to see Cortana breaking down more and more.

Finished Shutdown. Now I dont like fighting Prometheans lol

Finished Reclaimer. I remember seeing this level played before, with the whole Mammoth stuff.

I feel like I dont mind fighting the Prometheans. The dogs are easy to kill, and the bikes arent that bad. Again, its mostly only bad if the Covenant are also around.

Finished Infinity. Decent level, the Mantis was fun. I actually beat the par score, a rarity for me.

I really really like that Flame Princess match. Not just the creativity, but you were a lot more deliberate with the lighting, and it looks very good.

Day 10: Crabby

I've mostly been using Inktober to try out some new things, which is fine, but I'd say I actually tried decently hard on this piece to make it look good. I'd appreciate if people had any thoughts on it.

Imgur link is basically a combination of what I was going for. The character and the way of coloring.

Finished Forerunner. I can feel the Promethean hate, though it was mostly in the 2nd half when the Covenant were around as well. Felt like it was dumb to fight, but it was also easy to get killed.

Finished Requiem. Felt like a long level. And I experienced a fair few of the deaths Im used to this time. Looks like Im just about to start facing off with what I believe are the Prometheans. Done for tonight though.

Downloaded Halo 4. In a change of pace, I only died once on the first level, Dawn (Heroic), and that was through a plat forming failure near the end (probably the last place you can die in the entire level).

Good looks from everyone, glad I haven't seen anyone stress about being behind, that'd be the worst long-term.

Day 9: Nest

I probably could have worked harder on the nest itself, it's pretty evident that I was just using a cross-hatching tool. Even doing that, it probably could have been made to look more natural. I originally had the nest way smaller, then realized that wasn't right. So I didn't make adjustments to fully compensate. Otherwise, I kinda like the look of the egg. I'm still using a lazy way of shading trees/leaves. It'd be good if I figured out something better.

Day 8: Match

I've very recently learned how to make the glow effect work, and it works really well. The fire itself it a bit stiff. I was trying to make sure the edges had a sort of ambient glow, but I wasn't very careful, so it doesn't look as good. I could hold off posting it to fix things, but I'm looking ahead at the list, and I feel like there's some other stuff I'll need to spend more time on to maybe look okay. Otherwise, I think the lighting of the match itself is a bit off, probably should be some more mid-tone. Being in a void is a bit boring, but as usual, I've mostly been using these prompts as tests.

Again, to make it clear, I was conflicted in spending that much even for a professional that I already really enjoyed. So its very possible Im just cheap.

Yeah, I probably couldve phrased it better. Art value is tough to judge, and how much people want to pay depends on who the person is.

What is it and how much if you dont mind me asking? People have been asking me on facebook to do commissions for them but idk what to charge.

$200 for a full body character art. Im doubtful you could get away with charging that much. Not as a knock against you, but just how good the one I bought from is, imo. Ive seen some people with lesser art than you try to charge $130 for a full character art, and I doubt they get much traffic. Art is difficult to price. In the end, I think if you charge, you gotta charge based on how long itll take you to do something quality.

You might even want to say something like Commissions open, price negotiable. Then base your price off of what they want. Sorry if Im not much help. And I really hope you dont take what I said the wrong way. $200 was tough for me to swallow even though it was a professional mangaka.

Admittedly, ending kinda felt like a lame
duck. Its cool we got to see the beginning of Cortana, but the Spartans with the most personality all died first. I had 0 attachment to Emile, and only a little bit to Carter. My instadeath on Lone Wolf didnt help, to be sure.
