yeah who could find 3 or 4 people listen through the setlists that got 3 or 4 supports to get into the contest

I mean, I was assuming that wasn't the intent, as that doesn't feel like it'd be much different from just the original nominator ranking the songs in the first place
But I guess itd still help a couple things maybe

It's a valid idea, just...outside of the fact i feel this is very much overestimating the existence of these loyal volunteers who will listen to all 7 tracks in these setlists and rank each of them, not to mention without bias
Youd need at least 3 or 4 for every game for it to be worth, i think, and idk

Every day I get more proof that I was absolutely spoiled with 14 as my first tournament, lol. But 2 through 6 was incredibly tough for me, could possibly be different on another day though I spent a lot of thought on it lmao
Overall pretty good winners on average, I'd probably say? Around half are 8s or higher for me, which is valid enough.

This song just rocks. It's so stand-out, the campy rock is a perfect vibe for me, and the vocals only add to it. A song I can (and do) just keep going back to, and one that was at 0/0 at a point in nominations! (After it was first nominated okay) Me going back to this song a bunch was honestly a big inspiration for me making this list so suddenly.

I wasn't going to let it die (haha) so soon, but unsurprisingly not much changed in the nomination process. But if anyone decides they do like it, I think it's certainly deserving and it'd certainly get an instant support here! What's wild though is this might not even be a song I nominate next year lol, as NOTHING TO DECLARE on this same game really deserves a second shot as well. Let It Die really just hits.

Just a gorgeous track, one I deeply regret not thinking to double while I still could. I could've saved this! But yeah super pretty, nice melodies, and just a vibe I dig more than nearly anything when it comes to rhythm game stuff.

More rockin' ~~rockman~~ amazingness, but this one in particular is really a standout to me for having such a cool vibe, and how dynamic as it is as it goes, it's always a slapper but it does a lot of different things like a rock solo, a slower part, and especially a climax. This was one that probably could've got in if it weren't for the locking fiasco, so I hope it gets another shot next year! Perhaps these top 3 would be ones I'd consider nomming myself if no one else beats me to it. Perhaps.

Look, I don't have much to say about the remaining songs anymore, let's just get the end of this tournament over with.

So uhhhh fun fact one of the songs on here was actually in the tournament and I think I forgot because I was never around for a match it was in lol. Oooooops so I guess this was a Top 9 and move the rest up in your minds this is why you prepare for things like this beforehand

Super pretty song that does the calm, serene thing really well, but then, even better, breaks into a powerful climax near the end that caps off a song that I'd say is perfect pacing-wise and is sorta what I look for in songs like this.

Tachi was honestly a nice surprise overall from the contest, it's def my fav still in, especially now lol
Def takes my vote here, there's more songs like Lost City i feel accomplish what its trying to do (while admirable and not bad) a lot better.

#6: Bravely Default II - Shadows Cast by the Mighty: Swift Judgment

A super cool piece I've sorta come to expect from JRPGs nowadays especially from this tournament, but I'd say this one totally deserved to stand with the rest of them in this packed year! Has all of the best traits, being driving, triumphant, and having a powerful melody. I will say it feels like having all of the variations in one is perhaps a bit unnecessary, though, as most of them is the same aside from the ending part, but this and a couple other BD2 tracks I've heard certainly are good and the game deserves another shot in noms.

R4: Ridge Racer Type 4 - Move Me

Idk if i'd call Move Me unknown D&B, it's pretty famous in most VGM circles actually

also i am learning more the past couple years i like dnb a lot
move me is definitely not the peak but it *is* good

This one's just really cool. It's rather hard to explain esp compared to most music I like, but it's unique, got a pretty vibe, and the chants and voices really add to it. Sorta like a more "natural"-feeling Dariusburst, I suppose.

This one's...I mean I really shouldn't have to explain much here, lol. Just a rock song that goes really hard and hits the right notes of good, standout melodies I like from this kind of theme, as well as a cool solo bit. Would bang my head so hard i lose said head 7/7

Mad Rat Dead - Breath of Forest

It's nice to see the year(s) of Mad Rat Dead culminate in a pretty far run for one of them, and this one was the song that got me to buy the game from the outset, hearing it on the official site when it autoplayed. Just a brilliant adventurous song, I hope it can pull off the tournament win in the end.

Was just going through some old playlists and stuff, thinking about how I've been kinda negative towards some songs and stuff lately despite it not being my overall opinion, and decided on the spot I wanted to do something fun for the winding down days of this tournament!

It's perhaps a bit unorthodox, but I'm gonna be counting down my top 10 songs I got introduced to this contest that *didnt* make it in this time around that still haven't seen the light of day yet, whether I supported them or should've, in hopes they might get a second chance down the road!

What can I say, I love violin lol. Fast-paced and really cool melodies that never let up. Another interesting thing to note about this list is I haven't played, let alone heard more than one song from, any of these games prior to this tournament.

Chrono Trigger - Secret of the Forest

A fittingly disappointing end to a disappointing division. Passing through the Forest, notably, the worst song coming from the strongest subdivision of all of them. Not a lot of songs I literally never have voted for get this far, if any, so it's got that going for it. Secret of the Forest I thought I really liked, then decided on later listens its just very ok. But that's enough to get a vote today.

Not gonna honour the forest thing really, because in any timeline i recognize BoF beats the winner next round.

Yeah I like Photoconductivity, even if I'd still have preferred just the third tune. Sonic put up a decent fight against In The Final today, but its still not gonna be beat that easy for me (even tho if i win both of these im probably voting the Suite over it lol)

I'll be honest a lot of that writeup came off as negative, so I'll at least say it's super cool to see a couple people really loving Supraspatial apparently! I was sorta blown away when I first went through the Amplitude soundtrack on a whim, and it's cool to see others being thankful to hear it as well.
