Your first mission is a shoot-em-up bullet hell, so I don't believe you can say that it's introduced halfway through.

Both Nier and Nier Automata like mixing genres between action, two-stick shooter like Gauntlet, and bullet hell akin to Touhou. There's also some side-scrolling action at times.

Gaming in the 90's was a boys' club full of misogynistic assholes. The internet in the early 2000s, when most of these accounts were made, was also a right-wing shithole. Years and years have gone by and most people have realized that women exist in gaming and progress will never stop; those with garbage takes are rebelling against their worldview collapsing around them.

I agree. Especially Mio's scene where she blew up on Noah, and Noah being an absolute idiot and saying 'You agreed to this.' I'm only at the start of Chapter 5, but good lord that hit hard.

Wilhelm tended to be my favorite to use in the game. Painting targets with Saint and going through as an unkillable monster android was just fun.

Only in English. In Japanese, it's four characters that equate to four syllables, and directly translated is Zeraora.
