Maybe a child grows up in a broken home and CPS fails them and cops do nothing. And they grow to hate the society that let them suffer But blaming society is like saying "nothing that I ever did with my life could ever have fixed the damage caused by the world I was forced to live in, no matter how hard I tried not to become that." It's a black-and-white thing to say. "I didn't become this way because I chose to indulge in a lifestyle and never look back, I was FORCED to become like this." At some point you've got a choice to not do something that might infringe on an undeserving party's right to a peaceful life, there's no two ways about it (and aside from stealing to survive, there are definite lines where that intent becomes wholly malicious). --- I'm tired of having to wake up every day and justify the games I enjoy to the denizens of the Internet. |

But not learning a sense of empathy or compassion enough not to harm others to make up for your societal shortcomings? Like I can get saying that's society's fault but it's still inexcusable. At the end of the day we all share what is at least assumed to be a CIVIL society where there are rules and expectations.
