The backstory and buildup is my favorite part tbh. I think the book definitely starts getting worse when they all get to Boulder.

Maybe i would enjoy it more now. But throughout the book i wanted King to just get to the point (main story not the background) and then he did... in the most succinct way possible.

It was also one of the books that led me to think that King is overated. I heard so much talk about him growing up and Star ed with The Shining and a few other big names that i enjoyed. Moving onto The Stand and some from the mid-2000s turned me off.

Since then i tend to read non-fiction books on science, history, philosophy religion etc. Thats more my alley

My understanding is that medium rare steak is fine because all the bacteria is on the outer layer which gets cooks. But when the meat is ground up that mixes in the bacteria and could cause serious issues in a medium rare burger

I'm at a point where i hope it doesn't ever get released because of how to thoroughly addicted i get to TES games. Between TES II-V I've easily played >1000hrs and (probably closer to 1500hrs) over the past 15 years.

Over the winter i put in 120hrs into Oblivion on a new replay. It was fun but very disruptive to real life

Did the same thing back in Dec 2020 and it was many years since i watched the PT at that point and i really enjoyed it. Even PM and the boring scenes etc I was able to appreciate them for what they are, not the best but i can live with it.

Maybe in 20 years I'll feel differently about the ST but i kinda doubt it

Id claim that NES Final Fantasy I and II were better than other NES RPGs of the time even if they dont hold up well today. The console RPG genre was rough in the 80s. Im not a fan of NES Dragon Warrior either but it was popular in the 80s.

FFI was certainly one of the best rpgs for its time, i would say it is the best up until FFIV was released although i havent played the DQ games except the first

also, he could have been joking, or she thought he could have been joking, when instead of saying he wasn't cool with it, he went on about his social media presence.

the public marriage counseling stuff relates to her show (Red Table Talk?), where she and her family talk about tons of stuff people might generally consider private. maybe it's to create a dialogue, but I've never seen it, just familiar with some of the stuff when it goes viral, so I couldn't tell you.

If you can't see it then step back consider the perspective of an abused person

It's obviously costing his mental health more than he can afford. But financially it is a shame that he would likely come out losing in divorce court despite the abuse
