I straight up take Bucky & Cap VS Iron Man over the airport fight (which was still incredible of course).

Actually might agree with that even though I love the airport. I liked the score for that fight too.

I really like Civil War but the movie just does not need Spiderman or Ant Man (for instance), and the contrivances to get them both involved for the purposes of making that airport battle better came at too much of a logic cost. It's one of those times where you can see the mechanism working too much. Like you can see the need of the studio and the overall franchise taking over the individual movie. Batman vs Superman came out around the same time and did that too, but much much worse and much more obviously. Civil War never plumbs those depths, but still, after giving it some thought those contrivances do make me like it less than I did when I first watched it.

But then the airport battle is so good, and that's definitely enhanced by Spidey and Ant Man, so...

The Cap/Iron Man scene with the pen is maybe the best in the franchise. Cap and Iron Man's dynamic across the first two Avengers movies, Civil War and Endgame is a real highlight.

Civil War to me is almost Joe MCU as a movie. Which has a lot of positives but some negatives too.

My guess is they learned from what happened in Sun and Moon (when CNN covered it), and decided to just get ahead of it.

Yeah I watched it again and I'm prepared now to put it above the Paul match on the strength of that conclusion.

Eternatus got rid of the Galar particles and they were able to gmax again, then Leon Gmaxed Cinderace. Ash Gmaxed Pikachu and OHKOd Cinderace

Gimmickless Pikachu and Charizard then fought maybe the best battle that has ever happened in anything, and Pikachu won.

Well idk the Paul match might have been surpassed with that

Final countdown. Episode is in around 12 hours ish.

Pikachu has only lost twice in trainer battles in the whole Journeys series. Bea's Grapploct and against Leon's Charizard in their first match. So could say he's due a loss.

I think there might be a definitive winner between Pikachu and Charizard. Pikachu winning and being the strongest Pokemon seems a distinct possibility to me.

Then as soon as he tries to Thunderbolt Cinderace he just drops dead.

Part 3 recap:

Some weird shit is going down.

Rillaboom beat Dragonite after a nice battle. Ash then used Sirfetch'd, who hit Rillaboom hard with a Meteor Assault but it stayed standing and KO'd Sirfetch'd. Dracovish then came in and beat Rillaboom, using Sirfetch'd's power to help it when it used Dragon Rush.

Cinderace then beat Dracovish, leaving Ash with just Pikachu vs. Charizard and Cinderace.

Leon recalled Cinderace and immediately brought in and G-Maxed Charizard; Pikachu got hit by one G-Max move, got around the other, then used his Z-move to cancel out G-Max Wildfire. The collision of the two moves woke up Eternatus and caused a storm; Eternatus flew to the stadium and it ended on a cliffhanger.

However, the preview for the finale next week indicates that Eternatus will clear up the storm, allowing Leon and Ash to resume.

It's entirely possible that Pikachu beats Charizard one-on-one, cementing itself as the strongest Pokemon, but then loses to Cinderace. Not a fan of that but that might be the direction it's heading.

Part 2 started with Sirfetch'd vs. Rime, Ash switched it out
Lucario came in, Mega Evolved and took out Rime
Leon used Dragapult, Ash used Luke for a bit then switched to Dracovish. Leon used Dragon Tail to force out Dracovish and bring in Dragonite, then Dragon Tail again to force out Lucario. Bullet Punch was disabled by cursed body and Luke was KOd by flamethrower.

Ash brought in Dragonite which finally KOd Dragapult

Episode ended with Dragonite vs. Rillaboom. Ash is up 4-3 but his team are tired. That said the numerical advantage for Ash makes me feel he's less likely to win.

Preview shows G-Max Charizard, Pikachu's z-move, and Eternatus for some reason. A bit concerning.

Great first season. Really pleasantly surprised. Admittedly not perfect, but always at least good - and the second half of the season especially was terrific. Loved the last three episodes.

Leon's team revealed after today's recap/preview:

Cinderace, Inteleon, Rillaboom, Mr. Rime, Dragapult, Charizard

Three starters is a bit cookie cutter but I quite like them as Pokemon, while Mr. Rime is a great, strange choice.

Also confirmed that Dawn will be at the stadium watching.

I actually like that the guy was beheaded though. There's been so much loose talk and outright murder (eg Criston) and nobody actually punished for any of it that it was starting to feel like treason or like laws in general just weren't a thing.

So far it's known that there are two episodes for Ash/Leon, with the first being subtitled torrent and the second named "toying".

Yeah the unobtanium thing to me always struck me as one of those petty internet hangups that don't do justice to the movie's real flaws.

I will probably end up seeing it, but I can't say I'm massively excited.

That's not necessarily a bad thing though; most movies that I see in the cinema I wasn't necessarily super hyped for or anticipating months in advance.

Presuming this is also rated R, this means we get R-rated Wolverine too.

Obviously R-rated Deadpool is needed, but R-rated Wolverine is also the good stuff

I checked out for like 4 years after watching 1 episode of Season 2, then picked it up again last week and powered through the rest of the season

The cut to Morty and Summer at the dinner table at the end was maybe the most I've laughed at this show in a while and I liked the last season!

I was genuinely in stitches laughing at this. Really good.

It was great to have such a small-scale episode just focusing on the family. Fun, light episode without going too crazy.
