The only people who think state capitalism is socialism are conservatives and tankies. And man do those guys have a massive amount of overlap. Socialism means the means of production is held by the workers. Replacing your capitalist owner with a government elite doesn't give you more control. Often state capitalist countries have far worse worker rights than liberal countries. Striking and labor unions are often illegal, with harsh working hours and poor conditions.

Depends on the kind of debt. We have huge mortgages but usually very little credit card debt. We are getting more debt in buying new furniture and stuff these days but moving it to 0 to little interest cards with a plan to pay things off by summer or so. Others will have large loans but its all about cash flow.

I suspect riots and mass looting soon.

And evictions to sharply increase. Maybe a national emergency declared and an eviction moratorium. Possibly a restriction on driving as well due to gas price spikes. Where official business only is allowed, similar to when it was done in Covid, but with even tighter restrictions.

Nationalization isn't inherently socialist, and not all socialists think nationalization is the best way to achieve socialism.
