i honestly have hard time naming my pets and animals. i'm not even certain what i named the capybra i got last night. usually i take pet names that i've had and my current doggos and change their name up a bit. like dog name kaiya, so i have chickens named kai, kaikai, kakai, etc. lol

i'm still in winter 1. i think tomorrow is th 15th, so i better remember to get that pet

oh btw last night finally got huang to like me to sell, and i sold him vans favorite for 53k and then 48k. i assume each time i sell it that i'll get less money? got two achievements from 50k and 100k on hand. anyone go for all of them?

spent that money on the wool machine and bought 300 resources and barn upgrade. my second cow is preggers and i got a level 10 chicken. waiting for sheep to grow hair in and then breed it. got my baby llama. so my fam is growing. hoping to not forget to get the pet on the 15th this season.

probably should go get the power berries in the mines. started cooking dishes and learning more recipes through there. should use them and explore mines. i never use stamina replenishers. probably would help me acquire materials faster.

so you need to find the cursed hoe and water can 5 times, or do you keep the cursed tool when you bless it with carter?

and gotta keep that equipped for 5 days, so you cannot brush or milk or shear your animals. that's whack lol

they grew. i'm rich. and it's winter now and went to winter mine for the first time. i gotta figure out how to utilize these mines best and what they're for

Uh I'm not sure but if they don't you can always use the exploit which I'll post below. It would just be for one day so it won't be a big deal. Also, make sure you save first because on the morning of Winter 2, Mayor Thomas will request an item from you and you can only turn it in that day. You may have to save scum a bunch of times in order to get an item you already have. I was able to have him request the black grass after about 30 resets. He also asks for mushrooms a lot so save at least one of each mushroom if you can.

And now is a good time to start giving Ellen (the old lady) a gift every day because she'll knit you a stocking which is useful for getting a Christmas gift from Mayor Thomas at the end of the month.

As for spending more of your money, you'll need 20,000 for the beginning of Spring if you want to upgrade your farm to level 2. You can also upgrade your coop / barn and get the makers since they're 20,000 each as well.

Here's the exploit you can use for the carrots:

You can exploit the game to force crops to carry over to the next season. This allows you to harvest the single-harvest crops before they wilt. For multi-harvest crops, this trick carries them over to produce all new season long. Pineapples in Autumn? Yep, it's possible if you're crafty!
1. On the 30th of the current season, don't cut back the field crops. Leave them in the field as you would any other day of the season.
2. Once you are ready to sleep for the day, use your tools to deplete all your stamina (the power berry icons) and increase your fatigue (the face icon). Stamina is tracked by stamina points (STA) and count down to zero as you use your tools, while fatigue starts at zero and increases to 100 as your fatigue points (FAT) tally up. Details about STA/FAT can be found on the Health page. For this trick, you want to have 0 stamina and enough fatigue that the face marker is blue colored.
3. The blue face icon appears once the fatigue value is around 80 FAT. The next step is to use your tools a few more times until you believe you have between 95 and 99 total FAT. Using a tool when you have 0 stamina will earn +1 FAT when the in-game time is before midnight or +2 FAT when it is after midnight. Count your tool swings and try to get within the proper range. Keep in mind that you'll naturally increase fatigue at specific times of the night as a penalty for being awake so late: +3 at midnight, +4 at 2:00 am, and +4 at 4:00 am.
4. The last step is to stay awake until the game forces you to sleep at 5:59 am. If you own the mysterious books in your farmhouse book shelf, rewarded to you by the Harvest Goddess based on the number of offerings you have tossed into her pond, read the books until the in-game clock reaches the proper time on the first day of the new season. For farmers who don't own the books yet, stand outside until the clock naturally becomes 5:59 am.
What happens is the farmer protagonist will recover -5 FAT naturally when the game forces the farmer to go to bed at 5:59 am, but then also earns +10 FAT for not voluntarily going to bed. You want to ensure the combined fatigue earned is enough to push your health into the dangerous 100-FAT level to force a fainting spell. For example, if you had 93 FAT at 6am, you would first end up with 88 FAT (93 - 5 = 88) and then finally 98 FAT (88 + 10 = 98), which isn't enough to pass out. So that's why you want to have between 95 and 99 FAT.

When the farmer awakes at 6:00 am on the 1st, having 100 points of fatigue will trigger an exhaustion event that lands the farmer in the Mineral Town clinic for the whole day. You'll then regain access to your character on the 2nd with full stamina and a fresh level of fatigue. Since the clinic visit outside the farm triggers before the crops wilt on the first day of the new season, the prior season's crops will remain in the field.

uh...what? lmao that sounds complicated. i made a second save in case the carrots don't grow and will just redo the last 7 days of autumn if it comes to that. actually, idk. was only about 1.2k gold to buy the carrots.

my animal did not win the fuzz fest, but she came back and i got her pregnant. also bought the last 150 materials or so and started the coop upgrade. wanna get that started so i can breed another chicken and my rabbit for winter w/o having to sell another chicky. gotta bump up them egg numbers. so save some shrooms and other grasses to potentially give the mayor?

and i'll need to spend 20k to make mayo and 20k to make butter, is that what the makers are?

oh yeah, i gots the coop. i'm pretty far ahead i feel like for my first play through. i sold my first chicken and my 8 heart chick is now a little pip. my second cow is still unmilkable and i just bought the llama breeding kit which i'll start once she's in the fuzz festival. i have 4/8 filled in the barn and figured i'd just be breeding them to fill it up and buy the other cows once i get one to 10 hearts. also, realized i fucked up and could've bred sheep or llama like weeks ago. wasted time.

idk if i'll be able to get another crop of carrots down tho. if i plant them on the 23rd, will they be able to be picked on the 30th before it goes to winter? kinda nervous buying them.

i have about 40k in hand right now. guess i could buy expanded storage and fridge, but idk what else to do with my money.

i'm so mad that i missed the pet sale in autumn. i have no pet and i'm angry. wanted a doggy

i also have like 20k and idk how to spend my money. should i just buy a shit ton of resources and start the coop? i need about 150 wood and 100 stone to finish it.

question about breeding chickens to get to 10 hearts. my third chicky is now growing big eggs and is at like 4/7 hearts. do i need to get that chicken egg to hatch the next with 8 hearts? or can i still an egg from teh 6 heart chicken

last few days of spring. bought me shit ton of green peppers to kick off fall once i get there. starting to make money on recurring summer crops, cow is preggers, got three chickens, alpaca and rabbit. just got the fridge and started buying some kitchen items. almost all of the spirits are watering my crops now. i picked one to harvest, and they just disappear. it going in my shipping bin?

cheated my way down to floor 10 of hte mine and got some good items. is there another cave i need to find in winter or something? hah

i did not even know about them until i noticed that area on the map basically end of spring. i've friended three of them eoungh to water the crops, and the past few days i've checked up and they've seemed to water all the crops, which is noiice

just so happened the first time i saved before bed the next day's weather was calling for a storm, so i noped out of there. two days later it happened again.

so thank you, for saving me mulitple days. it fucking storms hard in this valley in summer.

how do you handle the social aspect of the game? i feel like these are always tedious to me. i been working on jennifer because i bump into her the most throughout my play style. i just feel like there is not near enough time in the day to water crops and tend animals and find the people you wanna socialize. just walking across the town takes half the day.

I always save scum the weather.

1. Save before you go to bed E.G. on the 10th.
2. Check the weather for the day after you wake up on the TV E.G. check the weather for the 12th.
3. If its not what you want reload your save and try again.

Yeah. It's not as bad as it sounds. For chickens it's extremely easy. You just need to constantly sell your old chickens and replace them with new ones until they're at max hearts. It doesn't matter which egg you use to incubate as well, but I still recommend using the highest quality egg (good over regular). With the barnyard animals it's the same thing, but it takes longer. I also recommend taking care of your animals first thing in the morning and then let them out all day. They automatically go back inside at 8PM.

A few more suggestions.

Get chickens ASAP and give the Harvest Goddess an egg every day for 300 days. After 30 days of gifts you unlock Van who sells pets once a month.
Get cucumbers in the Spring and give an offering to Kappa once a day for 10 days. You get a power berry.
When you get 4 chickens start giving Carter an egg every day as well until he gets 8-10 notes. He unlocks the back door of the church in Autumn with enough friendship.
Give Gotts a single piece of lumber every day until he's at max notes. IIRC his shop stays open later when you do that.
Fishing is actually decent money when you're first starting.
Save scum all the way to floor 8 in the mines and start mining to floor 10+. Great way to get all the minerals you'll need to upgrade your tools
Gift Huang 8~ or so pieces of gold.
Give some milk to Cliff and some boiled eggs to Duke / Manna. Speak to them (and Carter) a few times in the Autumn before Autumn 14. On that day you can offer Cliff a job at the winery and he'll choose to stay instead of leaving for a year.

oh, damn. i'm already into summer now. i went hard and played like all day satruday w/o checking in here. i accidentally caught kappa in the lake there, did not think anything of it. guess i'll have to offer cucumbers in year 2.

I agree completely. It does feel like its harder to empty the tank when I'm sitting. Like I'll take a shit and obviously pee during that process but either I'll need to stand back up and finish the job or be taking another bathroom break more quickly than normal.

Also yeah not dealing with the process of sitting down to pee is nice. And anything that minimizes my physical contact with public toilets is a win.

The 401k idea is good if possible.

Again it's a deferred compensation plan aka 457 plan with no withdrawl penalty, just income tax. Only requirement to withdraw without penalty is that I change jobs which I have already.

do you have any control over the investments where it currently is, or is it limited to what the plan provides? if so, 401k transfer is way to go so that you have more control over what it is investing in.

i do not find sitting to pee more comfortable. big dick problems i guess
