I seriously considered going with Holy Grail for number 11 because I knew I had it low, but I talked myself out of it. Just for that, I'm sticking with Austin Powers until it drops out of spite. Now watch it win the whole thing!

Black Dynamite is one of the films I alluded to earlier where I regretted placing it relatively low, but something had to lose out. On a different day, it could have been higher.

Looking at the board of remaining movies, I think Austin Powers is the most likely to miss out on a spot in the top 10. With Black Dynamite being I think the first film to make everyone's top 20 at a minimum, we're now at the stage where there aren't going to be many films with bottom 10 finishes left, and I think among the films I could see having bottom 10 finishes, it will have the fewest top 10 finishes to counteract act, although it will still have a fair few to have made it this far.

When does a nepo baby stop being one? For example, Jamie Lee Curtis has famous parents, but she's been acting consistently for over 40 years.

While watching the films, I happened to watch Christmas Vacation on Christmas Eve, so it was a little bit higher on my list initially. However, I ended up moving it down a few places during my final check before submitting, as the Christmas bump had worn off by then. This was the second time I'd watched it, and the first was a couple of years ago, so I didn't have nostalgia from watching it as a child.

I feel this too. There are two or three films that I feel I ranked relatively low, but not because of any issues with those films, rather because I didn't want to move other films down to make room. (I'm not going to name them because none of them have dropped yet, but I will bring it up once they do.)

I enjoyed watching most of this list. I would put my cut-off point from overall enjoying to overall not enjoying somewhere around the mid 20s, and even most of the films below that had something going for them.

Finally, Austin Powers next.

Oh yeah, and uh, belated spoiler alert on my Holy Grail ranking for when that drops. From what I've seen, Life of Brian is more popular in the UK, while Holy Grail is more popular elsewhere.

Thanks to the current discussion topic of old favourite films that aren't holding up on rewatch, I'll continue the Jewish theme and guess Borat next.

Next prediction, I'll take a chance on Austin Powers. It's been on the board for a while, and if Anchorman is out, I'm thinking similar films won't be sticking around much longer.

I'm rooting for the NATM Cinderella Run to continue, so I'll guess Popstar again.

I watched it. I'm not necessarily sure it was a good movie, but I did find it very entertaining! This was a first time since before Covid I'd been to the cinema, and in that context it was an excellent choice.

Since BT 2 and 3 brought back everyone from the previous games, I wonder if that will continue here. I'm thinking probably not because they'll need to make a bunch of room for Super characters. Adding characters like Beerus, Goku Black, Jiren and New Broly are a much higher priority than bringing back old movie minions or minor characters from OG Dragon Ball.

I hope the What If? scenarios return. The ones with Raditz turning good after hitting his head like Goku did and Zarbon betraying Frieza to use the Dragon Balls himself in BT2 were great.

If more licensed fighting games from the early-mid 2000s are going to come back after this, I'm crossing my fingers for Digimon Rumble Arena 3, X-Men Mutant Academy 3 and Shrek Super Slam 2.

So pumped for the Rankings topic. I feel like our ranks can play out in a ton of different ways, depending on how much we prioritize humor, commentary, story, characters, etc.

Same here. I'm eager to see how it plays out, because there are so many great films on this list that some of them will by necessity rank relatively low. There isn't a film you can point at as being the clear winner. I could even see Not Another Teen Movie, which as a spoof movie seems like the safe pick for number 30 at first glance, pick up enough points to rank a little higher than that.

I hate when these conversations turn toward people attacking the series itself, which I feel is missing the point. Yes, the books are flawed, but they also mean a lot to a lot of people.

I wonder if people attacking the series retroactively is a defence mechanism of sorts to try and downplay the disappointment they feel towards JK Rowling. If people try to convince themselves they never liked Harry Potter and it was never good to begin with, then it might not hurt so much. Of course, if Harry Potter really was never good to begin with, this whole controversy wouldn't be happening because the series would never have blown up the way it did, and it would have been long forgotten by now.

I enjoyed reading this too, and I've made note of some shows that I liked the sound of to watch them myself.

This week I went back to play Deadpool again, and this time I finished off the last few trophies I hadn't gotten on previous playthroughs. From starting the game, it took me 9 years 6 months to get the Platinum trophy. Obviously, I haven't been playing the game for that whole time! That time dwarfs my previous record (Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix took me 6 years and 1 month).

Does anyone else have really long times between the first and last trophy/achievement, either playing consistently or playing through a game and going back at a later date to finish off anything you missed?

I used the swap to hear the American dub for the first time. I prefer the British dub because the Professor has a German accent and Specter does a decent Liquid Snake impression, but neither dub is particularly good by modern standards.

Sly 1 is quite different from the rest of the series. In the sequels, you have larger hub areas you can explore instead of levels like in the first game. You can play as all three members of the Cooper Gang, not just Sly, and switch between them at the hideout. The horseshoes are also gone, replaced with a health bar.

I saw someone use the word overtuned outside of this topic for the first time today. From the context, they meant either overtuned as in "a character with way too much going for them", or as a synonym for overpowered.
